I have noticed when using the latest version of GBPVR that if I set it to record multiple shows it will record the first one, but then fail on the rest. If I manually select "restart recording service" inbetween recordings that works..
any idea why it does this? can I restart the recording service automatically like daily?
I was wondering if anyone knows of a good editor, specifically one that can trim h.264 files. preferrrably free and works with windows, but not free and one that works well and is easy to use would be great too
I have found some that can cut h264 files but do a poor job of triming video
As far as I can figure out I can't update the recording type of a scheduled recording. i.e if I have a record once I can't change it to record season, or I can't change a record all to record weekly etc.
Is this a known limitation, a bug to be fixed or am I doing something wrong?
Ok have been pouring through the forums but have not found a definitive answer. I have a Hauppauge (Helious) MVP and gbpvr. I also have an extensive library of dvd's ripped into the standard ifo/vob format that I would like to watch from my mvp.
I see all kinds of hints that ztools might/should do this but not seen anything on how to step by step set this up to work. I can dedicate a p4 3.0 (800mhz fsb) with 2 gig ram computer to the task.
The mvp only serves 3 functions:
1) To play my recorded shows off tv (already in MPEG format)
2) To play MP3 files from a network share
3) To play FULL dvd movies from a network share
I think 1 and 2 are pretty much built in just looking for how to setup #3
My knowledge of MVP and GBPVR is limited so please be gentle.
I have the Media Center Remote and dongle for my HP Pavillion but am running XP Home not MCE. The remote is rectangular and doesn't even look like the ones pictured. Is there a way to get them to work with GBPVR? Maybe I've missed it in the posts but any help would be appreciated.

Hi, can recordings made by gbpvr be moved into the video library?
In my setup, under recordings most (90%?) of the entries (in the main 'ready' list) are one-off recordings, mainly movies. I have recorded a few series as well, and these are nicely grouped, but I have to trawl past many individual entries to see these groups. So moving these individual recordings out of here could clean things up nicely.
If moving these individual recordings into the vid library isn't easy, then would it be feasible to create a folder 'Movies' under my recordings folder, and move all the files into there? (But then I guess I need to heavily modify the recordings xml file?)
I only turn on display of closed captions once in a while, when family is visiting.
I did this today, and noticed that some recordings had really sporadic closed captions on playback. A tested culprit is Alton Brown: Good Eats.
There will be captions for a few seconds, then nothing for a couple of minutes, and then captions again for a bit.
I'm using VRM9 Custom for playback, with Intervideo and Intervideo NonCSS tested. This is not an HD feed, I'm regular cable.
I know a few people here use closed captions; any tips? Is it just me and I have something to troubleshoot or are they hit and miss with the captions on Good Eats/ the Food Network channel?
I am having an issue with static in the audio when using any version of GBPVRTSReader after the version dated 12-06-2008. I have tried versions dated 12-17-08,12-24-08,01-02-09, and 01-04-09. They all have the same problem when using ffdshow or ac3filter. The version from 12-06 doesn't have the audio problem but does have a timeline issue that makes skipping on large files impossible.Log are attached.
