I noticed an issued. If you are in Movie Manager, let's say I just imported a bunch of new movies, and want to check that the data loaded correctly. Sometimes the filename gets no results... that's to be expected.
Here's my issue:
I change the Title of the movie and search for data again, and it gets me the plot, director, yada yada yada... No problem.
So, I research for a thumbnail, and get nothing.
So, I save, right where I am. Exit out, come back in, and without changing the title that got me the data, I search for thumbs again, and this time it gets the correct thumbnail.
Looks like if I change the title, even if I save, re-searching for the thumbs is using the original value. Only exiting and coming back in clears it to use the new title.
A Noob here, asking for advice on why nothing shows up when I select "Live TV". I have used MCE for years, and recently decided to move away from it. I am testing both MediaPortal and GBPVR. I was able to get Live TV working in MediaPortal.
I ensured that no other PVR software was running simultaneously (MCE or MediaPortal). I have all my codecs installed, including MPV Video and MPA Audio Decoders selected:
I think I got the EPG stuff working properly. I have been able to view other videos (avi and mpg) in the PVRX2 application. When I click on "Live TV", the screen goes blank for a few split second, then back to the main window. I looked in my log files, and found no lines with "error" in them.
Tuning Assistant shows all the channels just fine. I'm not sure how to translate that to Live TV, though. Finally, I've attached my FilterCheck.log file, in case that's of use...
I guess I'm a little puzzled; is there something I'm missing here? Any ideas? Thanks a bunch!!!

Not sure if this is the right place or not, but here goes. I am building a brand new house and want to set up a centralized media server, primarily for movies, for all 4 of my TV's. The plan would be to rip/store all my DVD's, so that they can be watched anytime, form any of the tv's. Cost is not a major concern, however I am trying to watch my overall budget, otherwise I would just go out and get one of those crazy expensive systems that does everything.
If you had the chance to start from scratch and set this thing up, how would you do it? Just looking for opinions, thoughts, suggestions. I have browsed through the PCH forums and these forums, and there seems to be alot of ways to do things.
Our local cable company transmits the PSIP data for the HD/QAM channels. This makes it lot easier to map the channels using their virtual channel number and name (e.g. 2-1 tpt-HD, 10.1 KTTC-HD, etc).
However, I wonder:
a) Is there a way to get the actual frequencies (88.1, 88.6, etc) that these channels are transmitted in?
b) Will I be able to use the multi-record feature in 1.3.7 since the virtual channel numbers (2.1, 10.1 etc) are different than the actual frequencies (88.1, 88.6, etc)?
Not sure if I used the right terminology, but I hope I explained what I would like to do clearly enough.
When is UpdateEPG run? Is it only invoked by manually hitting the EPG update button, or is it run nightly?
I'm suffering from set it and forget it memory loss because I had to redo the EPG from yapi to mc2xml so I can't remember the order of how these things work. Do I run mc2xml from updateepg or scheduler OR do I run the updateepg.bat on the scheduler?

This isn't directly a GBPVR comment but it does affect GBPVR users . . .
I had a lineup issue with Schedules Direct and submitted a correction. Within a short time I got a reply and not long after I got a note that they'd contacted Tribute and had the issue fixed and I just checked and it is indeed fixed.
What great customer support!
I know many use scrapers, MC2XML, etc. but I would like to encourage people to use Schedules Direct - it is a reliable source with excellent customer service for an extremely reasonable charge.
What will happen is M$ figures out how to stop MC2XML or the other listing sites start changing their screen formatting more often to keep the scrapers from working? If a service like Schedules Direct has been tried and failed the odds of anyone else wanting to try starting such a service again are slim so we really need to give them as much support as we can.

I have created a custom submenu off the main menu to help organise some custom tasks I have configured. If I use the Blue skin the menu works fine. However using the Slick skin causes PVRX2 to crash with an unhandled exception error. I have replicated this on two computers.

I'm not sure if this is an issue with TVListings2, xmltvgui, Radio Times or GBPVR, so thought best to post in the main support forum.
I use Radio Times as my epg source, and this gives me star ratings for films which show up in TVListings
I've noticed recently that I often don't get any star ratings for films. Sometimes they're there, sometimes they're not. Looking through my epg today I've noticed that I get no ratings on Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays, but I get ratings on all other days of the week. I can't say for sure that this pattern has been the same all the time i've had a problem, but it holds true for the 14 days I currently have listings for, and for films I recorded last week.
This has me baffled.
Is anyone else experiencing anything similar, or does anyone have any idea what's going wrong?
