Ive been using GBPVR for years, however its always been on the MVP and NEVER on the PC. This is the first time ive loaded this on a PC...
I cant get it to work on a PVR150 Low Profile card...
Installed card (seems to work fine, no errors), installed GBPVR (v1.3.7), loaded 2 plug ins (weather and Webcams, both work no problems). Into CONFIG-Capture Sources and add each "Composite" and "S-Video" both on the same card, no EPG on either of them. I added 1 channel for each (as i guess they both will need at least 1 channel to select to watch), then closed config.
Go to PVR2, webcam works, weather works, go to watch live TV, it halts...., now ive never used GBPVR like this before, its always been record then playback on MVP and thats worked fine.
So do i need MPG decoders on the system to watch live (in this case Composite input)? and if so where do i get them?
I cant watch stanard MPG stuff through Media Player either so its cant decode MPG2 as it is.... ideas???
How do I tell PVRX2 that my digital tuner and analog tuner are the one and the same card, and that when I am watching LiveTV (and I presume recording) on the analog side of the card, that it should not try to do an EPG update on the digital side.
What happens at present is the when the EPG update is taking place on the digital channels, the analog stops. Ideally, the EPG update should be queued until the card becomes free.
I've not noticed the problem on recordings, maybe because the recordings and the EPG update time have not overlapped, or maybe PVRX2 address this issue.
There is only one card in my system, and it is an HVR 1300.
Having got GBPVR running nicely with my 2 cable budget cable cards I have added a FireDTV-S however when tuning a channel everything works fine for about 20 seconds the pvrx2 application crashes. Tuning to cable channels is fine.
and am wondering if there's a way to set it up to act as a universal remote. I've seen a few things like BT remote and Netremote but I'm not sure if there's a better way of doing that.
If I could remotely connect to my desktop on my HTPC through something like VNC I think I could just set up a USB-UIRT or my MCE remote blaster to send the remote signals when instructed to and I could access GBPVR without turning on the TV to play music and things like that. Part of the problem though is that the Raon only has wifi and bluetooth. I have a wired network. I'm happy with said wired network as well so I'm not really planning on switching to wifi anytime soon. Especially since I use an HD Homerun and think it would be troublesome to try and use over wifi.
The Raon does have Bluetooth though is there any way to do this by adding a bluetooth adapter on my HTPC or would I be better off just getting a wifi switch or something just for the TV room? Also, does anyone else have anything like this on a UMPC or laptop? Any ideas would be cool. Thanks in advance.

I had some difficulties installing the GBPVR / NMT for Dummies installer.
Basically it failed because the default script.cgi file wants to use the guest account.
So on the popcorn if I went into
Setup > Network Share
and created the SMB share and the url to it it would work and I could load GBPVR.html
Opening this would work but the links on the blue screen would fail.
specifically browsing to Network Shares > MyServerName
would return no content found
I fixed this by using a non guest account.
The line to look for in script.cgi is
mount -t cifs //xx.xx.xx.xx/mvpmc /etc/mvpmc/ -o username=guest,ro;
should be changed to (I've used my details you need to know your details)
mount -t cifs //192.168.1.2/mvpmc /etc/mvpmc/ -o username=popcorn@pop123,rw;
sub - did you have any further thoughts on pvrx2 resolving external assemblies used by plugins?
As a reminder - the dvbt radio plugin and service use some common classes etc. which are in the dvbtrlib class library. If I put dvbtrlib.dll only in the "plugins\DVB-T Radio" folder, pvrx2 can't find it because it goes looking for it in other plugins' folders or the plugins\Common folder and not in the "plugins\DVB-T Radio" folder.
The workaround is that it has to go in the "plugins\Common" folder but that doesn't seem right as there isn't anything in it that's common to any other plugin.
I have tried to add GBPVR as a network share on the popcorn hour. I tried by browsing to it via the "add a network share" and browsing to the mvpmc folder. But when I add it, and then open the GB-PVR.html file, I get an error. How can I make this work so that if I rename the html file to index.htm, it will launch when I open that share?
I'm testing the GB-PVR Media Centre and am very impressed with it's features and interface (I'm looking to replace another media center that I've been running for over a year now).
However, I have one small issue - When selecting the capture source and selecting "Australia", there is no region selection for Adelaide. The only other selection that results in channels being tuned is "All Channels", but there are several stations missing from this selection, namely SEVEN and SBS. I have two capture cards: one Hauppauge HVR-2200 and one DViCO Fusion HDTV Dual, both of which work perfectly under the other media center.
Member GARS also posted this question in July 2008 under General Discussion, but received no reply.
This is the only issue preventing me from changing to GB-PVR at this stage, so any feedback or ideas would be appreciated.
