Philips SRM7500 remote

anyone got one of these and does it work well with gbpvr
liking the fact that its rf aswell as ir
has a screen that shows media although i wonder if that only works with windows media player

just thought id ask to see if they were any good as my mce remote is getting worn out and they dont seem to be stocking them anymore where i shop

Changing channels to record show on external box & show report incorrect run time issues.


I have the latest GBPVR 1.3.7 and have HIP 3.0.2.1.2 to control my external SAT box.

The major problem I have is that when I schedule a recording or quick record a show on the SAT box it will not even attempt to change the channel. It just records what ever channel it was last on for the duration of the show I wanted. How do I fix this?

But GBPVR can change the channel if I go to the TV guild and select watch show. Watching the live TV part with the SAT box works just fine, so I know that GBPVR can control the box.


The other more minor issue that has been happening as of late is when playing back a recorded show the run time of the file is wrong. A typical 1 hour show might only say its 30 second or 1 second long. In turn this messes up GBPVR when you try to fast forward, pause, etc.

What causes this incorrect run time?

I have 1.3.7 installed and using the Photo Screen Saver setting in the config file so I can have digital pictures displayed as the screensaver. Works great but I would just like to change the size of the pictures displayed - currently they are a little too small for me. Here are the settings I have in my config file:

I have a channel that reliably pops up a message saying "This channel is currently encrypted" about 5-10 seconds after I start watching. It's a DVB-S stream decrypted by emunation. The message also says signal and quality are zero.
The video and audio play fine behind the message.

Does this message come from gbpvr? Is there any way to disable it? The relevant log is attached, but I don't see much there.

I have discovered a weard problem when playing a photo slideshow from a network drive (DNS-323) or USB stick using a MVP. I don't have the same problem on the MVP when playing music from a network drive or USB stick. My system has been stable over months upgrading to the latest GBPVR versions and using multiple MVP's on my network. I don't have the same problem when playing photo's from the internal hard disk drive on the PC where GBPVR is installed and neither do I have the same problem when doing the same thing on that PC using PVRX2. This makes me conclude that there is a problem in timing or buffering when using the photo slideshow functionallity in combination with an external storage device using the MVP over a network.

The acual problem is that when I select the folder where the photos are stored I can see all the files and when starting the slideshow the first photo / picture is displayed perfectly but when the MVP wants to display the second photo it restarts time after time. First photo OK and the rebooting.

I've tried a lot of things by playing with buffers, reinstalling GBPVR from scratch on a new XP installation with all possible services I don't need being disabled, like the firewall and others, but the problem remains. The funny thing is that the problem is reproducable when using an USB stick. Putting the photos on the USB stick resets the MVP when it tries to load the second picture in the slideshow. I have a Gigabit network which is very stable.

Anyone an idea how to solve this.

Okay so I've absolutely no idea how to make a website, but I had a stab a creating a GB web page as a graphical exercise.

The idea is: a web version of GB's blue skin, keep it very very very simple (hopefully it looks intentional simple rather than - fisher price "My first Web Page" ), single page site with virtually zero maintenance, used primarily to redirect users to the forums and wiki.

Hi all. Just installed the latest version and following the instructions, however I get a black screen when clicking on the html that should start up GBPVR. I have my software firewall so as to let through the app with all permissions, router firewall..presumably that is taken care of via unPNP?

Im stumped. It does seem to me however that there is some communication block between the NMT and GBPVR, but what..dunno.

Any help on this would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have been playing with my new TS files and mplayer (which I use to see dimensions and bitrate etc for a file) tells me the new ts from the ts mux and my hvr-1600 is:

I'd like to see a maximum disk usage parameter. This would prevent systems like mine with only one partition from becoming totally full and unresponsive.

When I play a dvr-ms QAM recording it plays in some kind of zoom mode. I can only see a portion of the picture taking up the entire screen. How do you get out of that mode? SD recording/playback works fine.

When I play back the file in windows media player, it plays fine.
