Well have fun and happy researching if you want a nice project on your hands. I am not technical at all when it comes to development but perhaps someone would be interested in a piece of hardware like this.
Is there any reason to not use all detection methods in Comskip (i.e. detect_method=255)? Most sample ini files I see use only some.
I tried using all when OCmskip missed tow big commercial breaks in a program when it scored tham at 1.00. I was going to try setting the threshold lower but decided to see if using more methods could better score the blocks. It did find the commercial breaks and I found that using all methods doesn't appear to take significantly longer to process a file and finds some commercial breeaks that fewer methods missed.
What, if any, are the downsides of using all possible methods?
I'm unsure if this is supposed to be what the 'resume' option should do, or if that only works on recorded shows. I've got movies on my computer than I play through the video option on my Media MVP but I can't resume -- they all start at the beginning when I select them. Am I missing something or is this just not supported?
I've had a bit of an issue trying to get an HVR900 working. Channel scan off Mt Kaukau finds the 3 MUX's but the TVNZ channels are showing up on each MUX. Any idea what could be up?
I've had trouble for a while in stopping recordings. I've just switched to 1.3.7 from 1.2.13. The logs now show the error above, which appears after it refuses to stop recording.

I currently own a Nova 500 dual freeview card. Had some great success with this card for the last couple of years.
Have now decided to have a go with some HD content.
Have done lots of reading here and elsewhere and decided on getting a Nova HD S2 card. Installed into my 2003 server, did a scan and found lots and lots of channels.
The Nova HD S2 records .ts files. Are these raw Sat files?
I'm finding that is saves about 4GB per 30mins(BBC HD), is this normal?
My freeview card only saves about 1GB per 30mins.
I'm doing some testing tonight to see if I can record 2x freeview & 1xBBC HD to see if my SATA(150) drive can cope with the data transfer. My cpu is only running at about 10%
I've tried playing some recorded HD files on my laptop but the video keeps jumping all the time. CPU only 70%, not sure if the files have recorded fine yet.
So just wondering anybody else got this type of setup and what experiences are you having.
Also where do I get Sat scans from. I can't find ITV HD and CH4 HD, and if so how do I get this into GBPVR.
Much weirdness when trying to schedule recording of a show...
I have already scheduled:
TV2 8:00 - 8:30 Big Bang Theory
TV3 8:30 - 9:30 Heros
TV3 9:30 - 10:30 Prison Break
Then I try to record The Comedy Christmas Gala on TV2 8:30 - 10:00
GBPRV (v1.3.7) says there's a conflict and suggests cancelling Heroes and Prison Break. This is weird because I have a Nova-T 500 (dual tuner) and multi-record is enabled. In principle I should be able to record numerous channels, and indeed I've recorded five channels at once while testing.
What's even more confusing, in the tuner config, I've set tuner one to only record TV1 and TV2, and the other to record the other channels (in an effort to solve the zero-byte multi-record issue discussed in other threads). So, it shouldn't want to use the same tuner form TV2 and TV3!
I've searched around for this but haven't come across any solutions (that have worked) yet.
I have GBPVR running on Windows Home Server. I had it running without any problems previously, but then my motherboard died and I had to go get a new one. Along with that I have had to reinstall Windows Home Server and basically start fresh.
So I download GBPVR 1.3.7 and make sure I have .NET 2.0 or higher installed, as well as updated runtimes.
I open PVRX2.exe and I get the window border (running in windowed mode for now) and nothing else. It also freezes everything else on my PC and I have to shut it down via task manager.
I've tried different video and audio decoders and renderers... no difference. I tried previous a version of GBPVR 1.2.13 (I think it was) and all my drivers are installed, up to date, and working properly. No difference...
I've attached the logs.
P.S. Hardware is an Intel 2.66 E7300 Dual-Core CPU with 4 Gig of RAM
