My PCh has just developed a major problem. I have just upgraded the firmware on my A110 and B110 to the latest release. I have also put on the latest recommended mvpmcx2. Now, I cant play any of my recordings, or live TV. Checked through the logs (which are set to debug) and there is nothing I can see there that looks like a problem.
When I select a recording or live TV, the PCH Buffering screen comes up with a blue ! and a message saying "Could not play".
I've also tried telneting into the PCH and looking at the /var/logs, but can't see anything useful there.
If I exit mvpmcx2 and browse to the share of the recorded files on my server, they play without error.
Live TV and recordings are fine on the server and MVP's
In desperation, I reinstalled the NMT's using Martins install script. It seemed to fix it for 24hours, but it's gone wrong again now.
Any suggestions where I can start to look for problems?
Did a clean install of gbpvr with a new HVR-2250 card. All seamed well and added comskip & comclean. Live viewing looks fine, however, when I try to playback a recorded show all I see is a blue screen. Any thoughts would be appreciated
I now have my HVR1800 recording great so now I have to get it to the TVs. I have used MVPs for years and like them, but now I want to watch HD stuff that I am recording. I currently have a low end PC and an MVP at my main HD tv. I use the PC for some files that the MVP does not like. I also use it for some internet stuff so I want a pc at the TV. It is not quite strong enough for HD. So, I am thinking about building another PC with HDMI out. I can build a great one for less than $300. (without windows).
I have 2 choices, I can either buy a Popcorn hour and use my exisisting PC, or I can build a Client PC. Can a GBPVR client do HD? I do not watch live tv through GBPVR so playback is the only real item I need at the TVs.
I would love to hear opinions on clients vs Popcorn Hour. I am also toying with using linux on the TV box and just use VLC. Any thoughts?
Well after over 300+ views on my 2 Asus PE9400 threads with no solution, I gave up on that card and reinserted my PVR150. Now with the current 10307 gbpvr the live video plays 4 seconds, freezes 1 second over and over again. I even dumped MCE 2005 and went with XP Pro hoping that that would cure it. I had such high hopes for gbpvr. the configuration is at dotnet 2 sp2 verified.

anybody heard there's a REAL accelerated video transcoder coming out with catalyst 8.12!
they finally enabled the stream processors to be used for transcoding..
tho it's supposed to be only for 4xxx series cards, they say the sdk works on all uvd cards [2xxx+]
they're supposed to release a free transcoder app and others are working on adding it into their apps [cyberlink,avermedia]

I'm not compressing any recordings.
When recording 2 or 3 shows at once I started getting choppy playbacks during while the machine was recording other programs...
Over 90% of the 1TB drive was fragmented. Even with a SATA-300 the impact of fragments was hitting hard.
Defragged the drive, and set a schedule to do it during wee morning hours (3rd party defrager), and the performance went back to normal.
If I were to buy a Blu-Ray drive and put it in a USB external enclosure and connect it to my PCH would I be able to play Blu-Ray disks? I don't want to burn, just play. I've seen some reasonably priced drives so I was wondering if this would work.
