My PVRX2 freezes quite often.

Just wondering if it is just my PC or not. MY PVRX2 crashed
a few times in a day and got frozen other times.

For example, when watching live tv (preview on, no recording), if
I keep changing channel quickly on the remote, it will be very likely
frozen (for ever). One time, it got out of live tv to the main manual. Then I couldn't
get into the live tv anymore until I quicked PVRX2 and restarted it.

Anyone experience similar thing?

Not me, I tend to watch a channel for a bit longer i guess...

Yer I have the same problem, changing channels is like playing Russian Roulette with 5 bullets, ie PVR2 crashes more often than not.

But have never had issues with timer recodings.

It would be good to know where to starting looking to fix this.

Post the logs and a description of what happened and I'll take a look.

The first one was for changing channel quickly and it got out of the live TV.
It also created some kind memory violation message on exit.

The second one was for restarting pvrx2 and it got frozen right away.

The third one was for changing channel quickly and it got frozen (did
not get out of the live tv this time).

I have XP sp3 with GBPVR r1.2.13 installed.

If most people did not have such problem on r1.2.7, I may give it a try.

Sorry, forgot to mention I am using Hauppauge 1800 MCE kit. Since pvrx2
crashes so often, I was thinking I must have done something wrong.

I also had a case that I left it running for a few hours and it did not respose
anymore but still showing the show. Interesting.

Can you see if disabling 'direct access to the hauppauge remote' makes any difference? Its only compatible with PVR250 and PVR350 cards - not other models.

There is also a problem with the audio decoder you're using, which causes it to add two audio decoders to the graph. Try installing and selecting AC3Filter instead of the current selection.

If these suggestions dont help, repost the logs with these changes in place.

I disabled direct access and it is still the same. Actually I used mouse to
change channels and got the same results.

For audio decoder, I am not sure I understand what you meant. I am using
the on-board audio on ASUS P5N-EM (NVIDIA GeForce 7100) and installed
the driver that comes with the motherboard. What should I install again?
What should I do the selection of AC3Filter? Under config - playback -
MPEG-2 Playback, I did not see that option.

google ac3filter and download / install it.

Then in the config under playback, change the audio decoder to AC3Filter (which is just below the mpeg2 section you were looking at)
