Hi, another minor point, but I've only noticed recently.
I use scheduled recordings. When I watch the show I just watch them on a laptop directly from a share. The recording device is a PVR350 (analogue).
What I've noticed for recent shows (over the last year - just catching up) is that the recording itself has a jump / stutter / skip in it. What I mean is imagine a scene, suddenly its goes in super fast mode and back to normal. The result is like its only recording a few frames over the few seconds.
I've checked the recordings a few times to check and it always skips at the same point. Over one hour it happens at one or maybe 2 points (never in the commercials or music intros!).
Any ideas? - Oh yes I used to run 0.99.5 and now 1.2.xx. So I don't think its GBPVR related.
After a few days of wrestling with it, I've got GB-PVR running pretty-much seamlessly and with rock solid stability - and what a great app it is too.
I know this has been asked before, but I havn't found a defintive answer after a few searches - is there a 'global' setting for picture brightness anywhere?
I've noticed that GBPVR produces a slightly over-bright picture - all filetypes, all decoders, DVBT.
I've fixed it with the nVidia control panel, but it means other media players are now too dark, which isn't too much of a problem as GBPVR has everything I need from a media player, and with almost complete functionality of the Hauppauge remote, which even Hauppauge's own software doesn't manage with DVBT, but it would be nice to be able to fire up media player classic for quick previews of videos.
If it's of any interest, these are some of the settings I use;
- DBVT; VMR9 Fullscreen Exclusive (only option with tear-free video on my rig), default audio renderer
- DVD; Intervideo Mpeg decoder / AC3-Filter
- Video files; CoreAVC / AC3-Filter
- Zoom set in config.xml to 1.11 to fill 16:10 monitor
I am new to GBPVR. I've installed GBPVR 1.2.13. The basic seems to be
working ok. But I can not make the remote work. Not even in WinTV.
The instruction says plug in the IR device and run ir32.exe, but it seems only
installed the start/stop IR appl. In the device driver list I still see a ? mark
in front of ehome Infrared Transceiver.
For WinTV, if I start IR.exe, it shows up and then disappear in task manager.
When I click on the remote, the LED in the IR does flash. But that is it.
Do anyone know how to make it work? Do I need to install some kind driver
for it?
My system: WINDOW XP PRO SP2, Intel e4500 due core, 4 GB memory, Hauppauge 1800 MCE kit, Nvidia Geforce 7100.

that way i can connect a webcam and a mic and have a VOIP station.
it would be great that if you are watching a movie or tv, it would go into pause and display the "accept" or "Reject" button.

Couple of questions,
Is there any way of playing CDs? (ie sticking a disc in the drive and playing it via MVP/GB-PVR).
There is a black strip at the bottom off the screen (about 1/6th of the screen height). Tried the MVP Screen Position plugin but I still can't get the GUI to move onto the black strip. Video playback is OK and uses the full screen.
Is DVD playback ever likely to supported via the MVP?
has anyone had issues with vista rtm not switching the tv on after its been idle for a period of time ? ive turned off all power saving features but the screen still "powers down" and for the most part wont come back to life again - there has been the odd occasion where press CTRL+ALT+DEL will bring it back but most the time i have to turn the pc off then turn it back on again to get my tv to show anything.
Iâm having trouble scanning for channels with the HVR-2200 that Iâve just installed. My configuration is:
Asus PK5-SE, Intel 8200 2.66GHz, 2GB, Asus 8500GT
Hauppauge HVR3000, HVR2200; drivers from 4.0b software kit (the latest)
Vista 32 with SP1
Cyberlink PowerDVD Ultra
GBPVR 1.3.7
Everything works sweetly on the HVR3000 â I can get all the DVB-T Freeview channels + all the DVB-S channels.
Iâve set up DVB-T devices 1 and 2 for the 2 tuners on the HVR2200. However, when doing the channel scan I only get TV3, TV3(AC3), C4, Maori, etc, but not TV1,2,6,7 & Sports extra. Iâm pointing to Waikato (Te Aroha) and signal is good (I moved the aerial cable from the 3000 to the 2200).
The weird thing is that when I first scan immediately after configuring the device, it seems to skip over C46 (scan 1 of 3), but finds the other channels (TV3 etc) on C48 and C50. But when I rescan, it looks at C46 but finds TV3 and TV3(AC3), and then all the other channels from C48 and C50, ie I end up with 2 x TV3 and 2 x TV3(AC3), C4 etc showing but still no TV1,2,6,7.
Iâve tried removing and reinstalling drivers and GBPVR (including deleting the directory), but the same thing happens after the reinstall.
This is the 2nd HVR2200 I have tried after the 1st one failed with âThis device cannot start. (Code 10)â. Seems more likely that the issue now is a driver/software problem rather than a faulty card?
What are my options for DVD Ripping? (We want to take a bunch of kid videos and put them on the computer, before the kid wears them out (Scratches them is more likley))
DVDRipper is unsupported, as well as MyVideos. (although it's in the middle of a re-birth)
Is there something current? (or works, yet unsupported?)
