I currently have two HVR-1600 tuner cards, which gives me two digital and two analog tuners (a total of four).
Over the past few months I have become addicted to the quality of digital recordings, so I try to avoid the analog tuners whenever possible. I have a few cable channels that are only available via analog, but it's frustrating to have to record a show in analog because I'm already using the two digital tuners for other shows.
So, I'm considering adding an HVR-2250 to my system to have access to two more digital tuners. But, I'm concerned about how many HD shows I can record at once without running into problems with the drive access or whatnot?
Does anyone here have four or more HD digital tuners recording at once? If so, have you noticed any system performance issues? We often surf the net or do other work on the computer while GBPVR is recording shows, so I don't want to affect the performance too much.
I bought a FireDTV satellite receiver some time ago and only recently had time for a quick play.
I have downloaded the latest version of GBPVR and have a CAM with an old Sky card to receive the free-to-view channels on Sky's Freesat. I have installed the newest version of GBPVR (which incidentally doesn't seem to install 100% successfully on my Vista Ultimate 32 bit system). I can go the the config and the DVB option for EPG. I've tuned into Astra 2 and the util has picked up the FireDTV, I can even see channels appear in the preview. However, GBPVR states it has found no channels and nothing gets added.
I would like to change the skip (forward and backward) and FF/RW times, to different time frames than the default ones that GB-PVR uses.
How can change that?
I have a DVB-S card (Twinhan), an analog card (Hauppague 350) and an ATSC OTA card (Hauppage HVR950).
The multidec filter should only apply to recordings made on the DVB-S card, however by looking at the logs, it seems that is is trying to enable multidec on the ATSC card, and that is why I am getting 0 file size recordings on the ATSC card.
Sub, are you planning on the future to assign the value of mdapifilter to specific card instead of globally on the config's misc2 page ?
This way, only the dvb-s card tries to record using mdapifilter.
How do i configure the mce remote to do actions depending on the current location of the user within gbpvr? (like mediaportal, i was configuring it earlier, crashed and messed up recording, never using again) i want to configure the start button in gbpvr to go to the TvGuide if pressed while watching full screen livetv, but if pressed in the tv guide it goes back to what i was doing earlier.
Also i want to configure CH+ and CH- to show the Ctrl+G if in livetv before pasing the up and down commands.
This is all i need to completely finalise my install.

I have an odd issue with an NMT when playing live TV, the program will start perfectly happily and then after a random amount of time (anything from a few seconds to many minutes) the program will start playing from the beginning again. It seems to do this more after the software has been running for a few hours. Recordings seem to be fine.
I'm now running 1.3.7 of GBPVR, but I think it did it sometimes in the prevoius version. I can't tell if this happens on the server as it's stuck in the loft and I dont use it to watch TV. I've looked at the logs at the time that the glitch has occurred and they dont seem to have anything added at that specific time.
Has anyone else seen this? Or can anyone suggest what I can try to debug it?
I have added my second Compro S350 tuner to my GBPVR server after bedding in, but whenever I set a second recording that overlaps it only allos me to cancel the existing recording.
