some times I can kill it with taskmanager, but since I run it in full screen, these last two times I could not get the taskmanager up even with ctrl-alt-del.
I had to reset the machine.

Hi, i am from Canada. I just brought the Sapphire ATI 550 PRO with remote, I already installed GB-PVR v1.2.13. But its not able to watch any channel, can anyone teach me the steps how to set up this software. Thanks alot.

Background:

Because I have analog and digital tuners and one SchedulesDirect account, I have multiple lineups in my SchedulesDirect feed. All tuners receive the same listings feed, however for the Digital Tuner, I have only the digital channels enabled. For the analog, I have only the analog channels enabled.

Scenario:

The one Digital tuner is tied up recording a digital channel. Meanwhile, in live TV mode I channel surf through the analog channels and eventually make it all the way to a digital channel. Thus there is not an available tuner to display the digital channel.

Expected Result:

Message informing me no tuners are available should pop up

Actual Result:

Screen goes black. If I +/- back to an analog channel, it starts playing properly. When I exit live TV, I see that the "no tuners available" message did actually display but it was buried/hidden by the black screen. I can cancel the leftover 'no tuners available' message and resume normal operation.

For once I actually want to see the 'no tuners available' message. : )

It takes 10 seconds to change the channel each time, its very slow, i was wondering how i can speed this up. i have DVB-T card: Pinnacle 3010iX.

Also when changing the channel with CH+ and CH- it takes 10 seconds to jump through each channel, so is it possible to make the buttons skip through the guide and show whats on right now on each channel like a sky box or mediaportal does and then when i press ok it switches to the channel?

Also i would like to map the green flag button on the mce remote with eventghost (or other app) to take me to the epg whenever its pressed, and then a button to go directly to watching the selected channel, without the need to: press ok, go down the list and pick watch.

Can i assign gbpvr suspend to the mce remote button too? so that it'd be the same as using suspend from the system menu? so that gbpvr knows its about to suspend and can put up a screen saying recording, and make it turn the lcd off?

Where is the shortcut key editor?

I received my nmt/popcornhour yesterday, so of course I've been playing with it to get GBPVR running.

I pretty much got everything working ok, but something strange is going on. (b.t.w. I'm on the lastest firmware)

The telnet script works fine, but when I startg gbpvr.cgi, the screen goes gray, and stays that way.

So I went in through telnet and tried to execute the commands manually. That worked fine! I now know that killall gaya gets the screen grey (what a scary command name b.t.w!) next is sh -c /etc/mvpmc/startmeup 2>/dev/null >/dev/null &. Which works fine if I do it from the telnet console.

Why won't it work from the .cgi? (and in that way from the PCH!?)

Any ideas?

Is it possible to tweak the hauppauge drivers. I particularly want to turn off the comb filter. I have a WinTV PVR USB2 (but will soon be installing a PVR150 PCI, as the USB item is a loan unit).

Before using GBPVR I had a WinTV PCI card with no mpeg2 encoder, and used dscaler for my tv viewing. Have to say it was fanastic and served me well for a long time. When using dscalers driver for the card I was able to access a whole host of driver settings for the card. One of them was the comb filter and turning it off completely got rid of the little jagged-dot-type edges you see on sharp edges. It cleaned up the picture a treat.

So, this post may not strictly be GBPVR related but I'm hoping one of you guys might know the answer to this.

I'm new to the site and to GBPVR. Finally got myself an mpeg2 card and installed GBPVR...fantastic !!

I use GBPVR for all my TV viewing and girder for my remote control, using a tira2 IR blaster.

I have written a small console app that will receive the channel number from GBPVR when a channel change occurs, parse out the channel into 3 seperate digits and then send these digits to girder at 500ms intervals using girders event.exe app.

I am subscribed to Virgin Media (formally telewest) and have the standard Scientific Atlanta Explorer 4000 provided by Telewest.

I have a girder GML for sending remote codes to the set top box, and have simply set event triggers for all of the number buttons.

So far it works a treat. Works on manual channel up/down, recording via the EPG and timed recording also.

All that is needed is to place my channelchange.exe and girders event.exe into the root c: drive and point GBPVR to use channelchange.exe as the channel changer.

Not sure if this is of any use to anybody but I would be happy to let you all have it. However, please note I'm only a newby programmer who is learning VB, I'm no expert !!!

hi - quick question. there's no way at the moment to display an image for a folder using slick skin like an image is displayed for a file (in video library, in particular)?

my kids can choose via pics, but not by words yet (my 4 year old uses gbpvr - waiting til he's 5 to get him into the config side of things...)

just wondering about streaming my TS Mux files out to the mvpmc without transcoding them first -- do you know of any way to handle this yet?

Moving to TS Mux is godsend, but the remuxing (see other post from today) has always been a big issue.

I never knew mvpmc had a web front-end -- would it be possible to set the dongle to boot directly into emulation mode without going thru the 1st boot menu first?

after moving to the TS Mux option, I've noticed sync issues with the ffmpeg transcoding for my MVP, but also had some less critical issues with the Cyberlink variant.

I decided to move to the latest version of ffmpeg (Sherpya-r13778) but found that the command line for transcoding TS copy/copy crashed ffmpeg with a video stream error (which the older version shipped with GBPVR gracefully ignores).

I came up with a transcoding stream that my MVP nicely accepts:
