When mapping QAM digital channels i am able to view many channels with audio and video.
when watching these live channels in pvrx2 i get no audio and no video.
If i record one of these channels and watch the recording i get audio and video (with BDA multiplexer: Microsoft DVR-MS i get both audio and video when watching recordings, with TS-Mux i only get audio when watching recordings).
I thought this sounded like a problem i read on the forum before but i cannot find the thread.
well i'm finally getting a freeview card (now have access to aerial that supports it), and was wondering what the best card to get (out of these, or feel free to suggest another one). this will only be used for freeview over a aerial and not from a satellite (but might be handy to support standard tv too) - and its obviously has to work with gbpvr
the things that would make me buy one card over another would be
1. supports recording 2 channels at once (in hd)
2. pci express (im running low on pci slots)
3. must NOT be external
4. hauppauge brand, ive got many a pvr 150/350 card and they have always been good. its a good brand for this kind of thing.
I had to reinstall the full program again in Vista. Everything again works fine with one exception. In trying to view a recording I can only see a blue screen. Everything looks as though its recording properly until I try the playback. Any suggestions?
I set a show to quick record
wait a little bit, then hit play on it to start it over.
I get a blue screen and no sound. No lock up though, so I can stop it.
It did record the blue screen as well. could be my same other bug where I get a blue screen instead of a recording.

I recently loaded up XP Pro SP2 on the HTPC. Basically the HTPC runs GBPVR and gets the schedule info from Schedules Direct. I occasionally will check my email via mail2web on it and check in here with it.
I've been working some overtime so I haven't been home as much as normal.
This morning I booted the machine up and got an icon in the system tray that said the computer was infected and to click there to fix it, and of course it was a trojan giving a false warning. It was "XP Antivirus 2009". I found some software to remove it and things seem well, for now.
I'm not sure how this got loaded onto the machine - none of my kids will fess up to using it, so I dunno if one of them used it and visited a site they shouldn't, or if the thing just "found" my computer sitting relatively unprotected on the net and installed it's self.
I do have Windows Defender running and Windows Firewall, and I upgraded to SP3 but that's it. I basically didn't want to load it down with a bunch of stuff when it's just going to be recording TV and updating the TV Guide.
Sooo, the question is - how safe is the HTPC sitting on the net? What protection programs work well with GBPVR? Any other measures anyone would care to share I'd appreciate!
Also . . . I have a 700gb Seagate SATA drive right now, but I also have an unused Western Digital 40gb ide drive - should I install it and load the operating system and programs on it and just use the SATA drive for data storage?
Any thoughts, comments, etc. would be much appreicated!
I use a Compro S350 card which doesnt scan very well with GBPVR.
I have managed to format a file Martint123 uploaded a while ago from DVBViewer, and believe it wouldnt take much more work to convert to import straight into GBPVR.
Question is how often is a scan generally required, the cost of DVBViewer is only 15 Euros, but if I dont need to scan again then might not be worth it, but do I need to scan monthly for any reason?
I have gbpvr running on my HTPC and i am trying to watch streaming video from my desktop. I am able to get the menu on my desktop but when I choose a channel i get a black screen and the PVRX2 app on my desktop hangs.
if i look on the HTPC i can see mpg files are being created for the channel that i have selected to record/watch.
I have the firewall disabled on both machines.
I have tried all of the MUXes on the HTPC (Microsoft, MainConcept, TS, Full TS)
I have attached the LOGS directory form both machines.
I went away for the weekend and all the recordings I scheduled didnt happen. They were not even in the recordings menus and marked failed ..just not there, I dug through the logs and found this, any clues as to what can cause this?

I have a new powerful machine which has been working with GBPVR for the last 6 months without a problem.
Last week I got a new Samsung Spinpoint 1000gb SATA HD. Being SATA of course I just plugged it in and formatted it in windows. That all seemed to go ok. I then copied my media over on to it from the old full drive (250GB IDE drive).
Then rebooted (now 10000 times after playing with services safemode, reinstall GBPVR etc). After rebooting the speed at which the .avi converts is slower than the speed the MVP plays. So ffmpeg is not converting fast enough and writing the xxxxxxx.mpg cahe file fast enough. When I map back to the old drive and run the same file. ffmpeg converts and saves at the lightning speed - about 1m20 after 20 seconds if not more.
So why wont it do it on the bigger, new, newest technology HD? What am I doing wrong.
Is there a bios setting? something is not right! The new super duper hd is useless.
I have 3 HDs.
C: is a Seagate SATA 160gb used for windows and programs and contains GBPVR
D: is a DVD RW. IDE old syle burner
E: is the old 250 GB Seagate IDE drive where the media is stored and works perfectly.
F: the new new super dooper 1000GB Samsung - which is not working with GBPVR or rather ffmpeg.
I dont have RAID setup and I downloaded the latest bios and have reset it to factory default. No overclocking etc.
I have an E8400 3gig duo CPU, 4gig ram etc. Motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3P with one IDE slot on it and like 8 SATA slots.
