First - thanks to all who helped with the previous struggle. We're on to a new (and hopefully as easy) problem now.
Is there a trick to making the HDPVR remote work within GBPVR? NOT the blaster -- we have not got that far yet -- at this point, we just want to control PVRX2 itself.
With the first system I set up (with an ATI550), I just plugged the receiver into the computer and that was pretty much it. However, the HD PVR capture isn't being as kind.
We tried the "fix Haup remote buttons" buttons, which did no good, but I'm not really surprised there. Heck, since it is the HDPVR that is receiving the remote command, and (presumably!) sending them through the USB, I'm not convinced the "remote" settings in config have anything to do with it.
But that leaves me out of places to look. I didn't find any other posts concerning troubles setting up the remote, so presumably we're just being dense.
Once again, any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated!
My schedule system sends me the listing for my Local channels with channel numbers up in the thousands. my reciever remaps these normally to the local numbers they normally show up on. How do i get GBPVR to send the command to change to the lower "local" number instead of the high directv actual channel number? NO sub channel needed, i just need iot to change to "7" instead of "1435"
Stupid question. I followed the wiki instructions to install it. On Step 6 it says to start Zprocess again and it will ask to register itself with GBPVR - it doesn't do this, it just opens the GUI.
I tried playing a video, but not sure it's using ZProcess.
1. So, if I press F3 anywhere in the program, including when I'm watching a pre-recorded video or something like this, that the program always jumps to the video listing. Do the same for all the 'mode' keys. F2, F1, F8,
2. Allow changing volume anywhere in the program. +/- only seem to work while video is playing.
This change would make the remote feel more 'TV-like' and a little less 'deaf'.
3. Allow mapping of function keys to plugins so we can jump to plugins as well as built-in programs.
4. Video library and recordings feature remembers where you are in a video. So if you quit and come back then it continues playing from where you left off.
5. Enable Up/Down channel in video library and in recordings. So I can click up/down channels and it jumps immediately to the next episode or file in the directory without going back to the menu. This would make browsing through a large list of episodes faster.
Well, I thought I had my stuttering problems under control. Unfortunately, watching a long show still has issues.
About 30min of watching the same channel, or right after the Live TV buffer hits 4GB's, I get real bad stuttering, both audio and video. It doesn't matter if there's fast action onscreen or not. For some reason, only QAM does this. Even long programs with over 4GB of buffer on analog channels are fine.
If I close the program and restart it, creating a new buffer file, the stutter is gone.
Is there any way to limit the buffer file size or have it split into a new file after it gets to a certain size?

I recently re-cored and reilnstalled gbpvr... with the fresh install, the channel numbers arent showing up in the tv guide... How do I enable that?
After reaching PVR heaven with my setup recently, it was short lived as the other day I lost all ITV1's - I didn't knowingly do anything to lose them but the settings I have match those on Lyngsat so I dont think they've been moved about again. (DVB-S, no ITV1 region seems to work) I cant do a SAT rescan cause it bitches about the BDA device not being available. It deletes the scan.cache file, creates a 0 size one then moans and wont scan anything. It used to work fine - it was months ago I did a sat scan so I have no idea what I've done. Any ideas?? I've applied the sat scan patch from the survival thread but that made no difference. Assuming all I was meant to do was put the file in the GBPVR directory.
The other problem is HD playback. Stuff I recorded ages ago playsback fine, but stuff I've recently recorded plays for 30-40 seconds then hangs. I can fast forward etc and it continues to play for another 30-40 seconds before hanging again.... I was not popular for recording Strictly Come Dancing off the HD channel...! Annoyingly the resulting ts file played fine directly in PDVD so it's something with GBPVR that's causing the problem. It used to work fine! As I say, stuff I recorded months ago still playsback fine.
With both of these issues, I'm tempted to delete the lot and start again but that seems a little extreme!
