I am trying to setup a client / server setup and I have noticed that when trying to delete a recording on the client that after pressing the delete button that it sits for a bit then acts like it has deleted the file. I figured that there might be a problem and starting looking at the logs and found this error message

I have opened the port it mentions and tried messing with permissions on the machine and have not had any luck, also i noticed that it isn't actually removing the recording file just removing the database info.

when i choose to record channels using the FULL TS mux ie one news tonight and greys it for some reason recorded the maori channel on both cards - has anyone else seen this behaviour ?
ive attached my logs where it even shows the name of the shows being greys and one news - hopefully this is easily rectified.
Hello, Does anyone know what audio decoder I need to get sound on the Terrestrial Digital freeview in New Zealand?
I have the Cyberlink stuff installed that came with my Hauppauge HVR 4000 and AC3 filter (So I can get TV3 AC3) but all the other channels are missing sound. I have tried the Mpeg decoder, The cyberlink one, the ac3, all with no joy...

Oh, I'm running Vista Home Premium, SP1 and you already know my tv card.
OK, I appear to have had this issue since the last rev (prior to the PVRX2 GUI becoming the only option), perhaps even before. I am completely unable to search the TV listings or set up scheduled recordings because of that. Whether mouse clicked or double clicked, or keyboarded and <Enter>ed, the screen simply flashes briefly and retuns to the originating menu. All of this while working at the console - no MVP or anything.
Recordings are still occurring on their proper schedule, but I can't use the interface to add anything to the schedule. Prior to this, I would use the old UI to set up my recurring recordings, and the PVRX2 interface for watching (since i couldn't search). All was OK with that setup - not optimal, but workable. I have a few other issues with the new rev, but this is the most vexing. Any ideas?
i've written a util to help make ntfs links to other drives for chosen dir.
basically it pops up a chooser box with your Recordings dir in it, choose a dir/series to move off to another drive, then another popup for where to move it to, then starts moving existing data.
after it's all moved, it makes a NTFS junction from original dir to new one.
after that, it's just like a shortcut to the other drive's directory..
really helps with multiple recordings at one time, as you can spread them over mulitple drives. and everything looks like it's still in original drive/dir.. so no adjustments necessary..
just lots of free space and less drive torture during simultaneous-records...
i'll add in command line processing so you can do it from the remote later..
right now it looks up your recording dir from config.xml and sets as root, so only those dirs to choose from..and copies everything with progress so you know how long it'll take for those long ones..
also have to check to make sure can make new dir...[can't already exist on target]
only requirement is the main recording dir be ntfs, which it should be anyways for tons of reasons..
gui is just a helper app, tech is all windows...
Now finished: been using it for months with no probs..
Made with Autoit3 so source included inside.. Moves a single dir[Series] at a time with progress, all existing recordings, and any future recordings to that dir will be in the target dir. Only needs to be done once for each dir you wish to offload..
Can be done in advance if you create the source dir first.
Added as much error checking as i could think of, *should* be interrupt-able at any time without losing anything..Also checks for valid source/destination paths, and limits source choice to gbpvr/config.xml derived recordings dir... makes sure destination is same size as source before assuming copy is good. etc.
It can use network paths as target,as well as non-ntfs drives,[tho i'd suggest against net/fat/fat32]
Added display of existing links on startup..
Will probably add a drive list with space free on startup, and double checking paths for ntfs to lock out fat32 destinations[because of 4gig limits].
To undo a link, simply delete the link and copy the files back from the target.
While you get used to it, keep AutoRemoveMissingRecordings>false

I am new to GB-PVR so am still on a steep learning curve. Am using a ASUS AS P2-M2A69G barebones system (ati X1250 video, audio ?? ) AMD 5200+, 2 gb ram, old 200 gb ide hard drive, sata dvd player & a hauppauge nova-T-500 Tuner. Operating system is windows xp home sp3 a new install + motherboard drivers, Microsoft direct(10)X & recommended bits from wiki. I am trying to put together a set top box / pvr to work on HD freeview New Zealand.
After quite a bit off playing round have got everything working but the sound & EPG. ( Have spent a fair bit of time checking all options in config & the mute is not switched on). Cyberlink Power-cinema that came with the tuner card finds the sound card drivers 'Ok' . Though you do have to change the diver depending whether your output is though the Hdmi or sound card audio outputs, using dual screen mode you have to chose one or the other & restart the program to change drivers.
Sound Divers are Relteck. GB-PVR ver 1.2.9
Just for information the system seems up to the job with the CPU only going above 80% occasionally at 720p output & the case remaining cool with low fan noise.

I bought a new Compaq SR5518F PC that came pre-loaded with Vista Home Premium. I have a Hauppauge HVR-1600, and this PC has only one PCI slot, so I installed the card in the PCI slot. I went through all the steps, and installed the HVR-1600 driver and GB-PVR. The device was listed in device manager. I had a problem, however. When I went into the GBPVR TV Guide, and clicked on "Watch," the screen would go black for roughly five seconds before returning to the TV Guide.
I then removed the card from my new PC, and put it back in my reliable, old Compaq S6700NX with XP loaded. I went into the TV Guide, clicked "Watch," and as should happen, was able to watch a program.
My questions are these: several months ago, when I installed this card in my old XP Compaq S6700NX PC, I was told to try another PCI slot if the one I tried first didn't work, because sometimes the card is picky as to which PCI slot it'll work in. Could this be the case with my new PC? Because there's only one PCI slot in the new one, I'm hooped. I don't have multiple PCIs in this new PC. I've also thought about buying the external USB Hauppauge HVR-1950 exclusively for use with the new SR5518F. Would this be a good idea? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
hi guys got a question is there any way to switch the channels on those digital tv set-top boxes to you can use old analog cards till ya got the money for new hd cards?

I have a network with 2 MVP servers, the first is my old Mythtv server and 3 mvpmc's. I am in the process of migrating to gbpvr with a new server and an NMT so that I can record HDTV. Ultimately the MVP's will also be used for non hd viewing. The problem I have is that for now I need both, but the NMT insists on trying to use the mythtv mvp server instead of the new gbpvr one. If I disable the mythtv mvp server, the NMT works correctly. I cant do that on a regular basis tho, cus I can't stand the abuse if herself can't watch the soaps!
The simple answer (for me) would be a command line switch to select the ip address of the correct server. Or of course an option in the startup to select a preferred server (as on the MVP).
