'Could work by allowing a single password for all folders with the option to make a couple of folders password free or the option to use different passwords for different folders. I'd like to give my kids access to their shows while preventing them from watching things they are too young for. I don't need anything terribly robust (i.e., is ok if the video library is not protected...by the time my kids figure out how to get around the password, they will probably be old enough to watch other shows).
I'd love the ability to group shows more effectively in the Recordings utility. For example, I'd like to put all my kids cartoons in a folder called "kids" then have folders within that folder to separate different episodes of their shows. My main recordings folder list is way too long and I need to do something to better organize.
Hi Everyone, I've spent the last several hours stuck on something that has got to be really obvious... but I just can't seem to get it figured out.
I'm trying to get a Hauppauge HVR-2250 working with GBPVR by adding the the appropriate information to the bda.ini file. Unfortunately, it seems to have no effect and I just can't get the "Hauppauge HVR-2250" option to appear in the list of device types (in the config program, of course).
This is in Vista-64, if that makes any difference.
Does anyone have any idea what I might be doing wrong?
I am trying to manually add channels to the scan-* files in the BDA directory. Where can I find the PID values for the V: and A: variables for specific channels on birds 110 and 119. Is their a website that might have this info?
Hello, I'm kind of a newbe to GBPVR and need a little help. I'm trying to get my WinTV HVR-950 Tv Tuner to work with GBPVR and have made it halfway. I have config the tuner with gbpvr and scan the channels and have alot of HD channels added that its found. But when I open GBPVR and click Live TV it says it can't found a TV Tuner. When I click Record Stats it shows my WinTV tuner Sleeping. Can someone please tell me what I need to do to get live tv with it working? :confused:
Iâve been enjoying GBPVR for sometime now. Recently, Iâve been forced by my cable provider to acquire Moto DCH3200 tuner, bummer for loyal customers, they are no longer sending clear QAM except for 6 local channels. What Iâm trying to do is use firewire with STB for video and audio. I have been successful using CapDVHS with Tim Mooreâs package and VLC. So I know the connection works. My question is can I also use GBPVR with this firewire connect! If so how! Currently, using component connection between GBPVR via STB.
Howdy guys. I've got things almost completely working, with only a couple of issues. I'm out of ideas on this one though, and I'm hoping someone has some suggestions for me.
I have an HVR-1800 set up on my file-server, and I'm streaming SD Analog and QAM to a client on my main computer.
When playing QAM channels, after about 15-20min of playing just fine, I suddenly lose audio, then several seconds later, the video freezes, and PVRX2 stops responding. I've tried the CyberLink, ATI, and Nvidia PureVideo decoders, and they all do it, though the Nvidia one lasts the longest. Occasionally, I've had the video freeze first, but generally the audio is the first to go.
This doesn't seem to happen on analog channels, but it happens on all the QAM's.
I don't know if it matters, but I'm using the CyberLink PP MPEG Muxer 5.0.1228. Logs are attached, if anyone knows what to look for.
On a side note, are there any tips for improving client response time? It takes about 20seconds to load the EPG when the program first starts up, and almost 10seconds for each channel change. These are both instantaneous when done on the server.
I have some avi files that I have downloaded that play fine on VLC media player and mplayer, but not WMP/GBPVR. I assume my PC has the codecs installed or VLC/Mplayer would not be able to give audio. Is there a way to configure things so GBPVR will use the proper decoder for these files? One of the problemed avi files properties in VLC indicates it is using the mpga codec.
Well i just got my PVR up and running and have a few questions now. I see it has an option to wake the computer to update the EPG which is nice, but can GBPVR also wake the PC from hibernation mode for a schleduled recording.?? Also any chance if it can wake PC up for a recording can it also put the PC back into hibernation mode after recording is over?
Also in the "system" section of GBPVR there are some options such as hibernate or standby. I tried clicking on hibernate and it seems to shut down the GBPVR program not sure or put the program itself into some sort of hibernation. Is this correct as i thought it would put the PC itself into hibernation but i guess not, just checking if this is correct.
Also in the main menu when i click on the setting button nothing happens? I would think that there is supposed to be some setting that can be adjusted?
I also remember reading somewere but cant find it were in live TV mode there is a way to set GBPVR so you can surf the channels more quickly because it temporly stops recording to hard drive while your surfing? How is that done, i cant find it. And once its in that mode how to switch back so it records live TV to hard drive.
One last question ,, i have comercial skip checked in the setup, just the one that came with GBPVR is that supposed to automaticly skip comercials when playing a recorded show? (it doesnt now) I can use the remote which seems to skip in 30 second bursts when i hit the >I button. Or do i need to get another plugin in program to have it automaticly skip commercials? If so which one?
