I am having a problem with using the server/client configurations.

If I use Streaming, all the standard definition channels work fine but trying to watch a QAM channel produces an empty black screen with no audio.

Switching to File Sharing, QAM channels work just fine. Trying to watch an SD channel shows picture and audio, but it cuts out every sec or so, like a strobe light on its slowest setting.

Any ideas?

I would like to build an HD PVR. I am looking at using my existing computer and mainly need to get a capture card. I have Direct TV ad would like to be able to record my shows when i am away on the weekends. It connects to my TV via HDMI cable. Is there a card i can use for this project that is compatible with GBPVR?

I live in an area where one OTA ATSC station's signal is weaker than others. I have a Hauppauge 1600 HVR card and I use GBPVR on Windows XP. What happens is that if I record shows from this station (specifically, PBS), after a few days the 1600 card will lock up and neither GBPVR nor WINTV can watch TV on ANY ATSC channels. (GBPVR will show "no signal".) However, once I reboot the machine, both GBPVR and WINTV can watch ATSC channels again. I search on the web, and this kind of lock-up problem seems to be an open issue for the 1600 card if the ATSC signal is weak. (For example, see here http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/archive/i...14232.html).

So I tried to think of a solution. One thing I found is that, if after recording on this weak channel, I add another recording on a strong channel immediately after, then the occurrence of 1600 lock-up seems to be reduced. I assume that this is perhaps because the circuits on the 1600 card is still operating even if GBPVR is not recording. Therefore, by switching to a strong channel immediately after the recording of the weak channel, I put less stress on the card.

However, it is quite tedious to do this manually for each recording. My question is: is there a way to automatically switch 1600 to a different ATSC channel after each recording?

Sub, as currently GBPVR already supports FullTS recordings, would it be nice if GBPVR could "remember" which channel belonged to what mux and if user tries to record time overlapping shows from multiple channels which resides on the same DVB-T mux, GBPVR allows this recording?

I guess very many users will appreciate this as this feature saves them direct money buying separate USB DVB-T sticks and USB hubs for each channel


PS. I remember, I've also asked such feature long time ago, but then it was said that it isn't on roadmap even. So, as FullTS has came, are things changed and is it on roadmap now?

We have here DVB-T with h264/mpga and GBPVR with ffdshow or CoreAVC or Cyberlink h264 codec couldn't playback correctly. No FFWD nor REW works and if it plays recording for about some time (30secs or 8mins) it just "hangs".
Finally discovered that latest Elecard h.264 codec plays these recordings fine, also rewind and forward buttons works ok in ViPlay and Media Player Classic, but unfortunately in GBPVR I couldn't choose Elecard codec as for 264 decoder. It would be nice if GBPVR could also use this codec.

For example, Elecard h264 codec shows quite watchable video when playing .ts avc content on old and slow machines (like my old IBM T41 - Pentium-M 1.4GHz, ATI 7500).

I'm now using my MVP on my newer GBPVR 1.2.13 system. This runs PVRX2 on the host PC which has a nice OSD whenever I move the mouse or use the Hauppauge rc, but, I've never seen any OSD on my TV (via MVP). Do you have to do something special to enable it somehow? I can't see anthing in the wiki manual about it.

Just wondering whether anyone knows whether this combination can be made to work?

If not is having two Nova T cards a useable alternative?

I really don't want to have to upgrade OS!

I haven't used my PVR system for a while, and when I tried to use it the PVRX2 screen wouldn't open, so I tried to upgrade in case that fixed it. PVRX2 still wont open (the outline of the screen comes up and just hangs, but it isn't frozen because it closes instantly if I click the x and task manager says it is using a lot of ram but no CPU). But now when I try to start the config I get a .NET error and I can quit or continue but if I continue all the fields in the config screen are blank. I checked the forums for key words, but the only thing I found that was similar is the skin directory being missing and I do have a skin directory. Logs are attached, I would appreciate any help. Thanks.

I cant stream audio (or audio) from EWA thru VLC. Trying to stream an MP3 gives the following error in the EWA log file:
