GB is great and is almost perfect.

I have found a couple of annoyances.

They are:

- when attempting to cancel a recording in progress, it sometimes takes quite some time to respond. On occassions, it has sometimes caused PVRX2 to fail to respond altogether. The only way forward is close PVRX2 with ALT-F4 or taskmgr. In some cases a complete reboot is required. Any ideas of what is doing this, which log should I look at?

- playback/skip sometime freezes. I presume this is related to TS problem others have spoken of. Is there a fix or a workaround? (note: I prefer TS over other formats due to its flexibility - I tried mpeg muxes and never achieved a reliable result, dvr-ms has limitations when viewing video on another platform when recording)

- auto aspect gets confused and sometimes provides strange results. The most common is to show a squashed letter box. Can I improve this. Note: I am using a Nvidia PureVideo decoder.

- I sometimes get this error in my pvrx2.exe.native log

Any ideas as to what is causing it?:confused:

- this is not really a bug, does gbpvr automatically purge old guide data so as to ensure the database does not get to large.

- when connecting as client over wireless, any updates such as adding a recording take a very long time and I suspect are receiving timeouts. I am guessing this has something to do with the way the client updates the database on the server and limited speed of the connection. Unfortunately, I cant improve the speed of the connection, hence is there something else that can be done.

I've been getting some strange behavior lately. When I record a show and GBPVR uses my HVR-1600, it says its recording but does not actually record anything. When the HVR-1600 is "busy" my PVR-250 and PVR-150 work fine.

I've installed the latest drivers from hauppauge to try to correct it, but it hasn't helped.

What else, I'm using version 1.2.13 but I saw the same thing happen in 1.2.9. It's the analog side of the HVR-1600 (I'm not currently using the digital side).

I think I've isolated the relevant portion of the GBPVRRecordingService.exe-native log file:

I have successfully configured the analog port of the HVR-1800 to record through my STB. However, when I try to get the digital ATSC to record it acts like it is recording but all it does is create a 0KB file.

Will this transcode files and then burn them in a DVD compatible format? Ie. What if I have an mkv file, will transcode it to a DVD compatible Mpeg2 and burn it? What about HD Mpeg2 in a ts (in the states here)?

I've installed this program on a new computer and I cannot get a picture on pvrx2. I know my capture card works, b/c I can see/hear it and capture in windows movie maker. I can browse the TV Guide, and select watch, however the screen turns black for a second and takes me back to the guide. Any suggestions?

Just installed v1.2.13.

When I try to use the arrow keys to navigate through the tv guide, it bounces back to the main menu for some reason. it takes a random # of arrow-key presses for this to happen, but regardless, i can repeat it. ditto for using the scroll wheel of the mouse.

I have a video capture card with TV input. I have the software to watch tv through my regular cable but it is jumpy and keeps crashing.

I have GB-PVR installed and get the live TV to highlight but when I click on it nothing happens. Can someone tell me how to set up GB-PVR to show my tv feed that is broadcadst on Channel 3 (NTSC).

Hi I have an evga nvidia dual tv tuner capture card. I was wondering if anybody had happened to get this device working in gbpvr. I used it in MCE 2005. I noticed that in the capture source drop down box there is a an option for nvtv1 and nvtv2. I tried these but to no avail. Any advice/comments appreciated.

I was looking at Circuit City's web site, and noticed they have the Hauppauge Win TV HVR-1600 (1178) for sale in their outlet for $28.96US. However, they don't have it available for shipping, and it's not in stock at any of the stores near me, so I looked further down the page, and see they are selling the Win TV HVR-1600(1199) for $99.99US. Apart from the warranty period, which is twice as long for the (1199), the price, and the availability, I can't see any difference between them. Am I missing something?:confused:

I need two separate MVP servers, only one found when MVP scans for servers. I have a GBPVR MVP server and I have a Hauppauge MVP server. Only the Hauppauge server is found. What can I do so that both servers show up or so that it only looks for a server at a specific IP?

I would actually like to have:
PC1: GBPVR/MVP server --> MVP1
PC2: Client GBPVR w/MVP server (w/o some plugins of PC1) --> MVP2

but in the above scenario the MVP doesn't find a server at all.

A fix for either scenario would be greatly appreciated.
