after a few months on scrimping and saving imanaged to get my dvb-s setup all working - reimaged my htpc and then started testing - i seem to have a small issue with a new 46 button hauppaugre remote - its the black one with a house \ go button in the middle - anyway im getting some random button presses which is a bit of a concern
a couple of examples..
- if i press the down arrow heaps of times it randomly presses ok i think and opens what ever menu was currently on
- pressing up sometimes presses the left arrow
- and pressing back doesnt seem to do anything in dvd's or videos while they are playing - i have to press the stop button to get back to the menus.
now im also finding that pressing any buttons on my samsung lcd remote is causing issues with videos pausing and stuff...does anyone know if a way to reset the codes used by Hauppauge or Samsung Tvs so they dont conflict ?
Okay I tried Beyond TV and liked it pretty well but didn't want to pay the outrageous 70 bucks for it. I heard this program was great but I have NO idea how to "setup" anything. I don't want a downloaded guide or anything frilly like that I just want to 1. Watch TV on my PC 2. Use my PC as a VCR. It keeps saying I need to setup my EPG and I don't want to use a EPG I know the few channels that I watch and I want to just say "record on channel 3 at 5pm". Basically I want to have a blank guide and just add to it myself.

I'm brand new to GBPVR and have encountered my first problem. I have a Nova-T 500 card which gets detected in the config setup and finds all of the T.V. channels. I then import the epg guide.
When I start the actual gbpvr it shows no tv listings and no live tv.
These commands work okay if I telnet to the MVP. I have created an mvpmc share on my machine and given the guest account read access. But the config is still not loading. I have the correct ip in /etc/tftp.config. I keep on getting a file if I telnet to MVP and type "ls -lt /etc/dongle.config". The mvpmc wiki says that this means I have an error in the command line, but I cant figure it out. I am also attaching the log.
Im one of the earlier versions of GB-PVR the keys on the Hauppauge remote were configured to show stream details.
i.e... MPEG2 and the PIDS etc.
This key was then 'corrected' back to what it should have been in the next version.
Im sure there is a keyboard shortcut for this - just wanting to know - so that i can tweak the irremote.ini (or whatever the name is) - so that i can associate that key back to one i pick on the remote.
I wasn't really sure where to post this question....this seemed as good a spot as any other.
When I am viewing most of my TS recorded hd shows on the PCH I can not skip forward at all....I just get the exclamation point.
However...on some (the minority) skipping works fine.
I am assuming it is something in the time line perhaps that is encoded incorrectly or corrupted.
Is anyone else experiencing this behavior on TS recorded programmes and if so is there a utility that I can run (perhaps post recording) to correct the issue?
Total newb to the DIY DVR thing, but Ive read a bunch of stuff so I think Im on my way to getting a system going for myself..
I've got an extra laptop thats just sittin around that I want to hook up to my analog cable. I think Ive got everything covered, but I'd like to ultimately have the functionality to record one channel while watching another. I know GB-PVR can support this, but Im having a hard time finding a dual external card. Anyone have any experience with this?
