Hi Guys,

I picked up a S=VHS A/V cable and will be hooking the HTPC up to my 27" CRT start definition TV soon! Whoo Hoo! Can't wait to see GBPVR on the TV at last!

I have an Asus m2npv-vm motherboard with the Nvidia GEForce 6150 graphics chip set.

What resolution and refresh rate should I set the board to for best results on my TV?

My main video archive is at the end of a wireless link. When the network glitches, occasionally PVRX2.exe can lock up.

This isn't a problem with Overlay or VMR9 Custom. I can just rotate Windows Explorer forward via alt-tab and kill the dead PVRX2.exe process.

However, it is a big problem with VMR9 Fullscreen Exclusive. I can find no way to kill or suspend PVRX2.exe to get the PC display back from the dead. The PC is still running, but zombie PVRX2 won't give up the screen.

I am sorry to say that I have resorted to hard reset, but that is just begging for trouble. Anybody know of a way to restart PVRX2?

VMR9 FSE provides the best video performance in my setup, but I've avoided it due to lockup paranoia.

I'm having a problem setting up a reoccurring recording. I do a search and when I find an episode that represents what I want to record I select it. I then choose "Any time slot" and "Any day" and I leave "Recordings to keep:" set to zero for all. I hit the record button and it sets up recording for some of the episodes that match but not all of them. I really want all of them set up to record because many times there are duplicates but the first one conflicts with another show that I want to record so I would manage the conflict manually OR sometimes the tv network runs shows after a sporting event that went into overtime and messed up the timing. Any advice to help would be nice. Thanks

I am enjoying getting used to this program and noticing the differences between its interface and my old replayTVs interface.

One thing that would make the guide search more efficient is to have the ability to jump a whole 'page' up and down in the alphabet, and in the alphabetical program list. Ctrl-left and Ctrl-right are already used as a quick 24 hour jump in the guide, so they are mapped to my remote buttons. Why not use them for a quick jump in the guide search as well? Also, the lists should wrap around so when you press up on A, you get to the numbers and vice versa.

Ok, while I'm at it I'll make a few more suggestions:
-While watching delayed live TV, pressing F2 (live TV) could bring you right to the end of the buffer, or 'live'.
-The recorded guide could use a section that contains all shows, recorded AND recording, and the difference could be shown by highlighted color. I don't see the need for different menu sections with separated recorded and recording programs, it's twice as many places to look

Just installed the latest Community Skin and everything seems to have went fine. There were no errors during installation. Now when I go into config, Community Skin is not an option. The only one there is the default blue skin. Any ideas?

I'm now to all that....I've been looking around to install something like MythTV, freeVO etc....I'm LOST !!!

First, budget is not an issue, second I live in Montreal, Canada, and have HD. I'm using videotron <for those who know>. I would like to have all the features of a pvr and more ! like watching the bunch of divx movies I have !! I would like to play those HD channels from the cable company..etc

I need to know where to go and what to buy !

I thought in the picks there were several colors that this skin could be so far all i can get is green. How do i change this? Sorry for the noob question.

Guys I have a question in regards to hardware I'm going to use an old optiplex gx260 p4 2.4, 512 ram, 250gig hard drive. My concern is the video card the system already has a ATI 7500 AGP TV out 32 meg card that does svideo. Is this video card powerful enough to play back my dvds at good quality? I guess I don't know what to look for when looking for a card that does tv out.

I've had a problem with GBPVR when changing to or from one specific channel causes either PVRX2.exe to crash or a black screen and exit to main menu, requiring a restart of the recording service. I'm running a Technotrend DVB-C 1500 card and the channel in question is MTV (T:C,394000,6900,QAM128,8). I think this problem began in the newest version of GBPVR, but I'm not 100% sure (I don't watch MTV that often ). I checked the logs and found this in the pvrx2.exe.log:
