I'm hoping to make my PVR PC diskless in the near future so I've been experimenting with recording to a network drive, with little success.
Is anyone else here successfully doing this, in particular, for a HD channel?
It looks like something in my setup can't keep up, as the picture and sound are all broken up on playback. I'm trying to work out where the bottleneck might be as I'm sure this ought to be possible... Any pointers gratefully received!
It's a KWorld (yea, I know) TVMCE 201. It seems to have hardware encoding, and it's only 29.99 on newegg. My Diamond 550pro card just died, and I only want it to hook up my STB to PVR2. Think it would work?
HI, I have an MCE 2005 beanbag dual blaster I am using with a 2450hdc STB. I have installed the
new mceir.sys driver
installed hip
learned and verified/blasted stb 0-9 buttons
installed hipsend
configure .exe hipblaster with '{channel} parameter in tuner source of gbpvr config
set up alternate input in hip to accept virtual ir signals from hipsend.
after some help I got everything working great opn my test machine. The test machine is an MCE SP 2 using ide drives. Channel changing is excellent. I moved the complete hip config files to the HTPC. This machine is an intel quad 4 xp sp3 machine. I am using raid and the system dirve is raid. If i try to simply bring up hip and go to i/0 ir commands and test a previously learned ir command nothing works. I hear a small beep when the blaster trys to send out the ir pulse to the STB. On test machine everything is fully functional on HTPC machine no blasting is possible. I have intalled MCEIR>SYS on the HTPC machine. Actually I have installed it 3 times. My navigation in gbpvr works perfect. Only the blasting to the STB has ceased to function. The test machine is about 6 years old and the htpc is 1 month old. The test machine uses ps2 mouse and plugin din keyboard, htpc uses usb for mouse and keyboard. I tried to redo all the ir learning on the htpc machine but was never able to learn any ir codes at all. Has any body experienced anything like this? Any thoughts appreciated.
I am writing a small tray program to Alert me a few minutes before a show starts (reminders set using EWA) and so far it works fine.
I would like to add an option so it automatically change the channel on my set top box when I click the balloon that popped up. Everything is well configured within GB-PVR but I would like to change the channel in my software so I suppose there is a way to call a channel change using the API. So far I have only worked with ScheduleHelper object and I would like to know if this can be done.
I see all those different ExeChannelChanger, GirderTunerController and others but since GB-PVR already knows how to change channel, I suppose I should be able to work whit an higher level object which will call the right Channel changer object.
My PVR's motherboard just died and so I moved my HVR 1600 board into my wife's system. I installed the latest drivers from Hauppauge (CD version 4.2) and I got analog and QAM reception with WinTV.
Now I installed GBPVR and my old channel configuration, but I cannot get a picture. The attached log is for the following sequence. Start PVRX2, click TV Guide, wait until all channels are displayed, go to channel 25, click, click watch, wait a couple of seconds to make sure there is really no picture, leave the program.
After I try watching with GBPVR I cannot use WinTV anymore, WinTV also does not get a picture anymore and is only showing a default test picture for the channels. After a reboot WinTV works again.

I'm in the UK, using a Hauppauge HVR-3000 on Windows XP with the latest version of GB-PVR.
Most of my DVB-S channels are just fine but a handful of them have very high pitched and choppy audio (like they've all inhaled helium and their mikes are cutting out 3/4 times a second.
The main one I'd like to fix if possible is CNN. But it happens on others too - Euronews, Wedding channel etc.
I thought these were free to air, but perhaps theiy're not and it's an encryption artefact?
Anyone come across this before?
WHile I'm here, a couple of channels aren't showing up on my scan - World Movies and Teachers' TV. which is a shame as I'm a teacher!
We can watch ITV HD in PVRX2 with a manually edited scan-cache file. (ITV HD is a red-button service broadcast with an incorrect video PID)
But we could not get a picture when playing back any recordings of ITV HD - only sound.
Thanks to a quick patch from Sub at post 9 of this thread: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=37073
We could now watch any recordings previously made from ITV HD.
However, any new recordings made with the patched GBPVRTSReader will not play with either the old TSreader or the new one:eek:
Attempting to play with the new patched version results in the file 'playing' through in just a few minutes, as if it is on FF, with no sound.
If the original TSReader is used, the file plays at normal speed with sound but no picture.
I know this is a very specific problem, but would be great to have it working. I believe GBPVR was the first app able to view ITV HD and play ITV HD recordings.

If logs, or a full TS recording of ITV HD would be helpfull, I will provide them.
Hi, I've attached a screenshot showing motion blurring while watching a sports event (I think the camera was probably panning at the time).
This is DVB-T in NZ, Live TV, captured with an HVR2200, playback with an 8500GT card (watching on PC CRT monitor). I've seen worse blurring than this.
Can anyone tell me whether they think this can be improved upon? It's a bit crap
i want to build a pvr. i want to use gbpvr. i dont want to spend a lot of money. what tv card should i get i have been looking on newegg. i have a old computer i would like to run if i can it is a 700 mhz i think if not i can use this one it is a 3ghz till i can build one. please help im clueless. thanks chris
