First - Sub, thanks for the awesome program. I've been using it for year and a half now and love it.
I know this has been covered in another thread, but I didn't like the tone of it so I thought I'd ask elsewhere. I appologize now for still being a bit of a neophyte at this...
I made the recommended updates to my bda, direct.ini, and native utillities. However, when I got to setup my tuners, and I ask it to show me tuners on the machine, it's only giving me the 2250 (analog). I also only have 1 board listed in my device manager (with my old PVR-500 I had 2). Can anyone tell me if my problem is GB-PVR or driver related?
Once I get it setup, I'm also having trouble seeing QAM channels to try to configure them...I found some of them using Hauppauge's WinTv - but I haven't figured out how to track them down in PVR - when I go channel by channel, I get blue screens past standard cable - but one problem at a time.
I was recording the F1 qualifying today and was watching it directly on the TV.
When it ended I used the PCH to cancel the current recording as I'd added loads of padding. I knew something was wrong when the delete popup stayed stuck on the screen for a minute - then it went back to the pending menu and it was still showing as recording. I cancelled again and it appeared normal. I then went to the new screen and deleted the recording.
I noticed when doing a backup that the recording it was still on disk. Looking at "new" recordings, it seems to have been deleted OK from teh database.
Started recording around 12:13 (inc padding)
Cancel given around 14:02:19 and second at 14:03:08
To my untrained eye, it looks like it started recording again at
14:02:54:984 there was only one file on disk and it was the big one from the beginning.
error at 14:02:52 with database locked that probably caused it all, but why does it happen? and so infrequently?
I use MceEpg2XmltV. I know it's no longer supported. I have it set to add new channels to the EPG. Presumably that means that when it sees new channels in the Media Center EPG data, it leaves them in the XML that is the source dat for GBPVR. I've seen this work. When my cableco adds new digital channels, I see them in GBPVR, but with no associated guide data until I map them.
Today I saw new channels in the XML source guide data, but did not see them inside GBPVR - either in the EPG screen or in the config screen for mapping. I went into config and did a normal EPG update. They still did not appear.
First Q: When/how do new channels in the xml source data get into the guide I see inside GBPVR? Does this happen in some nightly run? Can I force it?
I manually added the channel, which gave me the channel, but no data. Then I did an "empty epg" inside config. This worked to give me data, but it said I would lose all pending recordings. I backed up gbpvr.db then tried it, but oddly, I did not lose any pending or recurring programs.
Second Q: Why not?
Basically, I'm trying to understand what I should have done to force the new channel in the XML source data to appear in config (for mapping) and in GBPVR's EPG screen.
I'm using GBPVR in the UK with Freeview and the guide data using xmltv and the Radio Times website.
However many of the channels on Freeview no longer broadcast 24 hours a day (unlike on satellite) so the guide data often includes programmes I can't watch.
I was wondering if anyone knows how I can modify either GBPVR or the guide data from xmltv so that I can remove the guide data for channels where Freeview transmission times differ from satellite broadcasts.
I will start some external programs with the plugin.
It works fine at the last time, but now all external programs are starting minimized. But not minimized in the taskbar ! I see nothing from all programs. The first is an selfmade EXE and then follows an BAT. This start my recording software.
I only know the recording software runs i hear the sound oft the TV program.
In the task manager i see the task for the recording software an my EXE, but i dont can switch to it !
I dont have the switch "hide recording software" in the plugin !
I tested also the new GrahpRecorder, but its the same.
For some time now, I have had a problem with programs that are scheduled and appearing in the pending list for today disappear later in the evening. It seems to happen mostly just after the EPG update happens at 08:00, but sometimes also randomly later in the evening. Only TV One and TV 2 (Freeview HD) are affected.
When it happens, if I scroll down the pending list to the end (where the same day next week appears), I see the same programs that have just gone missing are listed for next week, but there are two listings for each program. If I scroll up a little, the top listing of the pair suddenly disappears from the screen leaving a hole in the pending list showing just background colour. I can still click on the disappeared entry to access its details, and I normally do that and cancel it and just leave the other entry for the program. Then I go to the Guide and tell it to record the missing programs using the Quick Record option, and the affected programs will then record normally.
It has just happened again tonight. I was recording only 2 programs tonight: "Once Upon A Time In Mexico" on TV 2 at 21:50 and "New Tricks" on TV One at 22:40. Both recordings were listed correctly earlier in the afternoon, but when I checked at about 20:10, "New Tricks" was gone and I had to add it again.
I think the problem may have started when I added my second USB tuner (Avermedia Volar) to my existing Hauppauge HVR-900, but I am not sure about that.
I have attached a full set of logs.
Does anyone have any ideas what might be causing this?

Just ordered a Asus M3A78-EM 780G motherboard with sideport memory, and a 4850e for use here in Australia.
From all reports here, the MPC codec is the best to install but I haven't seen anyone stating they have got MPEG-2 dxva acceleration working in either XP or Vista.
Has anyone installed Catalyst 8.8 to see how it goes with MPEG-2 dxva acceleration ?
Hi, just a general question...
I was wondering if there are any digital markers in a broadcast (DVB-T) that relate to the program currently playing.
I could guess that there aren't, at least during ad breaks in the show, because then people could easily use these for cutting out ads. It seems this is why comskip goes to such lengths to try to remove ads (why it's such a tricky thing to do well).
What about markers at the very start and end of the program? Are these available so that we can get clean starting and ending points, or again are there no markers so that the leading and trailing ads are hard to distinguish from the main program?
If there are no markers (in this high-tech digital age ) what has gone on here - do broadcasters 'homogenise' the stream so that it's continuous? So there are no variations in the type of stream that is being broadcast? I would have thought normally there there would have been a variation in encoded materials. (Ignoring the fact that the broadcast has to be in format(s) everyone understands.)

I am trying to set a reminder in EWA and the button change for Kill Reminder which makes me think it's should work but when the show starts I get no warning, popup or anything?
