Hello,

I just purchased a Pinnacle PCTV HD stick (801e SE) and I am trying to get it to work with GB-PVR. There doesn't seem to be a device that matches that model exactly. I have tried Pinnacle PCTV HD (QAM) and all of the ones that have stick in the name...still no luck. When I have show only devices detected it gives me a Gigabyte GT-U7000-RH and EMTEC 810. Those don't work either. The stick works with the bundled software, but I don't like that software much.

Here are my system specs:
Windows Vista Home Premium x64 SP1
Intel 2.4GHz Quadcore
8GB RAM

Thanks!

Run the filtercheck.exe utility, then zip and attach the filtercheck.log and I'll take a look.

Try adding this to your bda.ini file:

[Pinnacle PCTV 801 SE]
TUNING_TYPE=ATSC
FILTER_TUNER="DiBcom BDA Digital Tuner (Dev1 Path0) "
FILTER_CAPTURE=DiBcom BDA Digital Capture (Dev1 Path0)
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

Hey sub,

Thanks for the ini entry, I can now see it in the list and the device attempts to find channels. Unfortunately I get this error "No channels found. Please check your signal and configuration settings." Also, when I just launch GB-PVR and click on live tv, nothing happens. Even if I manually add channels to the list. Any ideas?

Thanks again for you help,

Do a scan, then zip and attach the config.exe.log and config.exe-native.log and I'll take a look.

Hey sub,

The only way I can do a scan is by selecting DVB EPG Broadcast. Everytime I try Schedules Direct I get an error. I have a 7 day account with them and it is active. I have attached a screen shot of the error. Also attached is a zip file of the DVB EPG Broadcast scan and the config.exe-native.log.

Thanks!

That (500) error usually means you havnt setup your line up on the Schedules Direct website. You need to do this before you try to access it from GB-PVR.

The log looks fine, with no sign of any problems, but the device never manages to lock onto a signal.

Hey sub,

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I was able to fix the Schedule Direct issue, I didn't realize I had to subscribe to a list via their website. Now it downloads all of the channel listing with no problems. However, it still will not detect any video. I might try taking this product back to the store and pick up another brand. Can you recommend a good (not to expensive) TV card that supports digital cable, HD/QAM and is compatible with GB-PVR?

Thanks,

Corey Kinard
