I'm just in the process of trying to return to GBPVR after struggling with showshifter for some time.
I've managed to get V1.2.13 to install but as soon as it tries to run I get the attached .NET Error.
I've probably done something stupid as it's a while since I've used this software but any help would be appreciated.

when the plugin is started, does it always check the XML file for the downloads list??

I am asking because I am thinking about moving the downloads directory to the server, hopefully making it available to all the clients.

I need to create a custom aspect ratio for a 4:3 display in which the picture is both letterboxed and pillarboxed. I know where to put the line in the config.xml, but I have no idea what the values should be.

Can anyone tell me what values would do this?

I am trying to use ubustream2 and ubu radio without much success. Is the ubustream2 installation supposed to create a new _coreimages directory? I have an existing directory under gbpvr/skin2 but none of the ubustream png files are in there? I am at work now but I believe the getrenderlist() procedure fails because a null value is returned as there are no images to select.

I have been using GB-PVR with a PVR-150 for about 2 years. My problem is that the system is only a P3 and cannot really stream out the recorded video. To watch any recording, I have to burn it to a DVD and play on another device. These uses up lots of DVDs and creates lots of extra work.
Recently, I got an old Series 1 Tivo. My plan, if I can get the hard drive working on this old Tivo is to use it in manual record mode. I will not have a Tivo subscription and I do NOT want to take EPG data and import it into the Tivo. Rather, I only want to automate the manual record process.
Series 1 Tivos allow manual recording without subscription and I simply want to automate the process. Flame me if you feel you must, but this is not illegal.
What I would like to do with GB-PVR is to be able to hook into the record button. When the record button is pressed in the GUI, the data for that one particular show would be transferred to another app which would pass it only to the Tivo via "manrec".
My wife want to turn off the PC that has GBPVR running, so I cannot use it to control the Tivo via a blaster at the actual record time.
Is there any option in the program to allow any processing when the record button is pressed at "schedule" time? Are individual scheduled recording parameters stored in a separate folder in a format like TVPI that I could monitor?
I only get very basic cable, so I will not be concerned about two recordings overlapping or being scheduled at the same time. Scheduling conflicts are assumed to be non-existent.
While I plan on using an old Series 1 Tivo, others could also use external DVRs from other manufacturers or even an old VCR. The point is to use GB-PVR as a graphical "schedule ahead" non-realtime interface to programming these beasts.

There seems to be a problem with the way the Enhancer treats some special characters in the descriptions, namely the dash character "-" It's being rendered as ampersand #226;€“" in the recording dump.xml.

I'm having GBPVR working with one DVB-C tuner with mdapi.
How can i extend it to use Multiple (at least 2 ) DVB-C tuners. Or a combination of 1 DVB-C and 2 analoge tuners?

I have setup my GBPVR box behind my TV without a mouse nor keyboard. I am able to access with my laptop with remote desktop. When I start GBPVR, I get an error message 'This system does not appear to support VRM9. Please try a different renderer.' It does work fine if I have a mouse and keyboard pluggged into it. So it appears GBPVR requires a mouse and keyboard to run. Am I correct?

I am wondering how I can have multiple instances of a plugin.

I am thinking that I can get the user to set the name of the plugin and that then will be used for the name that is displayed in the config applet and the menubutton off root, of course logging and config.xml settings can be set to the selected name, the only thing I am stuck at is how does the code get to know the name of the plugin if there are multiple instances?
I was wondering if there is a method I can call that when the plugin loads it will read the name of the button that the user selected from the main menu, is there such a method and is this the best way of doing this?
