this has been bothering me for a little, but the EWA has not been working for me, how can i tell this is started?


i have no firewall on, i have a web serv running IIS (but not apart of my EWA)


i've reinstalled the web admin tool and restarted the recording service by installation request i have the current GBPVR i'm not sure what the version is.


i have the right port, i may try changing this to see what happens ?

Hi there, I hope this is Ok to ask here (newbie - sorry!), but I'm having tremendous hassles with a Lifeview DVB-T PCI card I got via Freecycle. The person who gave it away said it was because he'd upgraded to a duo card, and didn't say anything about it not working.

I've installed it on my system (which I am aware only just meets requirements being a 1GHz AMD Athlon with 512Mb RAM), but when I installed the driver from the CD and restarted Windows got to the splash screen and then I got a brief glimpse of a blue screen and the PC restarts.:mad: The only way to get it to work is to disable the card in Safe Mode and restart.

I tried updating the driver (tricky as Lifeview's website appears to be off-air) and got the same. Also installed something called Driver Detective to diagnose and update my drivers, it recommended some other driver and now the card reports itself as a SAA7134 TV Card, the driver being from Phillips! However, even with this new driver I still get a crash on startup.

I'm no dummy but at the same time I'm no programmer and this is confusing the heck out of me! Has anyone else had these issues or could someone point out where I may be running in to issues? I'm not sure how to do a system info dump (or whatever it may be:confused so I can post info on the rest of the PC, but if that would be helpful let me know how!!

Any help in this regard would be very gratefully recieved. I'm just glad I didn't pay for this card, with these hassles!

When I was away on holiday I recorded a lot of shows that was converted using the DivX profile to save space. All this went smootly but when I start playing back one of this shows the remote controller stops to work. As this isn't bad enough no keyboard commands work eighter so I cant stop, skip or pause once the playback is started.

Anyone got an idea of why and what to do about it?

I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong, but it seems that panels are not shown in the menu when the "MenuType" is set to "Horizontal".

While the logfiles say that they're added ("Adding panel to main menu: NowPlaying"), they never show up.

I had a look and saw that the constructor and GetName() are called in a class implementing IUiPanel, but nothing else (no GetRenderList() and no needsRendering()).

Are panels only supported in non-horizontal menus?

Have uninstalled and reinstalled Frameworks 2.0. Still no luck when attempting to load the GUI.

Although I'm quite happy with the quality of my DVB-S recordings, I'm building up a new system for my (non-sky-dish-equipped) parents and need to choose the tuner cards. Just wondered what the approximate file size was for DVB-T programs per hour, or whether I should get them to get a dish/stay analogue.

In video library when I select (in PVRX2)

I get this behaviour

1. select a file
2. select transcode
3. select profile for one of presets
4. select start; which changes to stop
5. It shows a pop up transcoding in progress for about 1 sec and then returns to selected file in video library menu.
6. No file is generated.

Whats happening? Should it transcode immediately or does it happen later?

Is there a log? where can I see the command line it using to undertake the transcode?

Does it handle spaces in filenames?

If it worked, will it delete the original file or not and is a selected item

I have two issues that are taunting me currently with the scheduling of recordings any guidance is appreciated.

1. I have a HVR3000 DVB-S providing me with freeview (NZ) this is anew card recently setup, I use Revens EPG aml grabber for EPG. I have removed the freeview channels from my batch file that grabs the EPG within xmltvnz and set up the freeview channels to get the EPG from the DVB feed. This seems to be working fine. The issue is we have noticed that the time within PVRx2 keeps changing to the transponders time which is not unfortunately the local time how can I stop the time of the transponder updating PVRx2? last night we actually had a recording that was still in Pending state this morning I presume because the time flipped and it then missed it!

2. I have a PVR150 which hooks up to my sky box and uses IR blaster to change channels, we have started to notice that around 45 to 50 minutes into recordings the channel changes to 00 (Preview) very annoying and stumping me as to why this might be occuring, any ideas on how to track this one down would be great.

How about a manual hd defrag button under system menu
and moving the Community skin menu button to the system menu buttom.

I use the pc strictly as a media center no other uses. So any thing that I can do from the remote would be better. (Id rather disconnet my monitor from the the system)
