I have a Hauppauge HVR-3000 and have it set up for DVB-T and DVB-S
When looking at DVB-S programmes, there is no 'Now and Next' info with the program. Is there a seting to turn this on and have it shown with the progamme? It's there on the WinTV software...
If I do an update of EPG (from within the setup menu) it takes ages and ages to populate the Now and Next info into the guide...
I've been trying to set up the ir blaster that came with me wintv 1600 to work. I only use pvr to record over the broadcasts so I don't need it for a cable box, etc. I installed the software so when I hit the GO button on the remote, the ir application opens so I know that the remote to ir receiver works. So basically I just want it to control the menu and viewing options in the pvrx2 program. I'm sure it can do this, but I'm missing something in the setup procedure.
Anybody have a tutorial or suggestions on how to set this up?
Just installed (again) gbpvr on my system as we are dumping the satellite and just using OTA ATSC.
I have very choppy audio and video on my HD streams. non-hd seem to be ok. Computer specs are in the sig. WinTV is smooth as is mediaportal (except that mediaportal can't seem to get any audio)
Have tried all the different renderers under playback-> PVRX2

Now that Gbpvr is essentially flawless for me it's time to risk waf wrath and replace the current cumbersome but tenacious route to watching art movies sat tv (manhattan st550 sat receiver + viaccess cam + PVR150 ) with a hopefully equally robust solution with dvb-s pci card + phoenix reader + software (ehmmmmmm, software).
Should mention that on a whim I purchased a compro s350 (Dava, it's your fault!) thinking I would not need a CI. But I see that the succeses mentioned on Gbpvr all seem to be based on DVB-S cards with CI.
Is it essential that a dvb-s card has an exisitng CI even though the CI itself is not used?
Is the compro s350 therefore a complete non-starter? I do have an RMA for it (many thanks, Scan) but it would be a shame to return it if it would make a serviceable second input, maybe sharing the smartcard?
Anyway, creeping up on the main reason for the post:
I am about to go pick up a new tuner card for my system. I am looking at the HVR-1250. I am a little confused about encoding stuff. I know this card does not have an encoder on it. Do HD signals not require encoding, or does this mean that the cpu will be doing the encoding?. I am not real concerned about analog, just the HD channels. Sorry it that is a stupid question, but I could not find any info for it in the wiki or in the forums.

My setup is a Windows XP system (P4, 1.25gb RAM, Geforce 6200, Hauppauge HVR3000 card)
I've three problems at the moment that maybe I can be helped with.
1) I have successfull searched for channels on the DVB-T and DVB-S tuners. On the 'Capture sources' page I have set them both to 'DVB-EPG broadcast' thinking that at least the DVB-T tuner will supply Freeview info. Unfortunately the TV Guide in GB-PVR says '(no show details)' for all the slots on all the channels. Any idea how I can fix this?
2) On the internet radio page, I can choose a channel and it says the channel is 'buffering' but it just stays that way, buffering forever (I have broadband - so connection is quite fast).
3) My music library is not on Drive C, it is on Drive E, so how can I change to that folder within GB-PVR, it only seems to show me folders on Drive C.
I've been trying for quite some time now to sort out the above problems on a new PVR I have built - complete spec is in my signature. Any help appreciated.
Live TV Stutter
Plenty of threads mentioning this but nothing I've tried cures the problem. Setting the Affinity to 1 processor does nothing, the AMD CPU driver is the latest version as is the Dual Core Optimiser. I've also tried all combinations of using and not using the CPU driver/Optimiser.
After a reboot the stutter appears after 5 or 10 minutes of live TV but once it has happened it reappears almost immediately when going back to live TV.
Random Incorrect length of Recording
I've tested this numerous time by recording 3 programs simultaneously and they all record with the correct length but when I'm not testing and trying to record 'properly' I too often get recordings that can be almost double in length. They play back perfectly, no lip sync problems, but jumping forward in the video after you've watched it for a while to try to get past some adverts takes you backwards (obviously the timeline has got screwed!).
Menu Corruption
This one's difficult to describe and happens randomly. The menu buttons sometimes disappear; sometimes they expand and contract in size like the animation has gone wrong; sometimes the main menu disappears and then reappears in slow motion. I've no idea what might be causing this one.
