I can't for the life of me work out GBPVR Client sharing VISTA=>VISTA. I had this working in XP=>XP, but when I try to share a folder in VISTA I can only add share permissions and security for GUEST access.
What I (think I remember) I could do in XP was:
Right click a folder, properties, advanced sharing, check share, permissions, add, and under locations, see all the PC's in my Workgroup, or in my Network. But the only one that I can see there is the PC I am on.
And yes, I can see all the PC's in my Network in the network Tab (even in the Dinky network map), which are all on the same Network Domain. 192.168.1.XXX. If so, why can't I see them when I go to share the folders and choose certain users on the network?
Yup I have with Firewalls Off on both PC's.
Yes I have File & Public Folder Sharing and Network Discovery on. password protected sharing off, media sharing off.
It's set up as a Private Network.
What am I missing? Must be something simple surely? I am loathe to enable Guest share on anything I don't need to. I read something about a user account on the Server, but do I really need to do this, surely I can just assign a location/user via the share?

Now that I have my GameZone up and running with thousands of arcade and PC games, I was wondering what kind of gamepads (wireless or cabled) do you guys use. Currently I have a $24 wireless gamepad from Wal-Mart that I have been using but I would like to upgrade. Maybe Logitech or something else.
I was watching an MKV last night on the PCH. At about 20 minutes into the movie, it just froze. The PCH was unresponsive. I had to pull the plug and allow it to restart. I didn't go back into GBPVR after that. I went into Swisscenter to finish watching it. Do you think this was a GBPVR problem or a PCH problem?
All looks good when installing the DVB-T radio and scanning finds the channels.
The issue I have is that when pressing play, i get 1 second of sound followed by silence for a second or two, a burst of sound for a second or two and then silence again....ad infinitum.
Everything works as advertised but...mc2xml is fast and reliable. The problem is I get too much info. Namely channels I don't need or want. With zap2xml the channels downloaded are controlled by the setup in your account. Running the enhancer on the zap2xml file is slow because I download and overwrite the descriptions with the ones from tvdb. I expect this so not really an issue. With mc2xml you pick your channels based on a list. I have tried different combinations to keep the file as small as possible. Still I get extra channels because the program uses a close match instead of an exact match to the channel list. If I use a number say 39 I get 39 knsd and 39 knsdhd. If I use the call sign I get 39knsd 829knsd 8739knsd. Its a DISH network thing. This is all duplicated data which is also downloaded by the enhancer and takes forever. What I would like to know is: Is it difficult to write a script that would take the data downloaded with mc2xml and delete, filter, process out the data based on an exact match channel list before I send the file to the enhancer?
Ok - I brought 2 Nova-T-500 cards, at first I put one to test in a system in the Garage - all went well - I moved it into the Lounge pc and all is still well. I've put the second card in the Garage pc and I can't find any channels - The first one was retail box with remove, the second was whitebox MCE but that shouldn't make any difference. I've attached my config logs on debug trying a channel scan - It reports on the GUI signal strength and quality of 0 but in the Log it seems to report -26 and -100 - My antenna should be fine, the alignment still looks good but maybe the heavy winds blew it out of alignment between the 2 cards. Any other ideas from the logs????
My partner is a spanish teacher so being able to access internation streams, ie in spanish would be excellent, the question is can I record these streams? is it easy to record these streams, ie would I have to do it or should she who doesn't like buttons be able to handle it?
My cpu sits normally at about 7-15% during satelite tv, intermittently my cpu usage will drop down to 2-7% and my picture will stutter.
It took awhile to find this happening as i thought it was mux or decoder, I have tried ts, dvrms and cyberlink muxes, the mpv, hauppage, ffshow, cyberlink (pdvd8) decoders and it happens with all of them. I am also getting occasionally high pitched static noise so I also tried every audio decoder i have installed to see if that was having an effect.
I'm visiting a friend in the states and hope to get a GBPVR system up for use with his AT&T IPTV digibox. I was wondering has anyone tried this before and do they have any tips?
He already has a Hauppauge HVR-950 which receives the RF signal from the AT&T box, but he has no IR blaster for controlling the AT&T box? Can anyone make a recommendation of a blaster that works reliabily with GBPVR and the AT&T box (Motorola VIP1200)?
