Here's what's going on: I have Server 2008 running on the latest patches with a Hauppauge PVR150 running on latest drivers (3.4d1). I have the latest GB-PVR installed (1.2.13), and I followed the installation instructions. But when I go to record, I nothing happens. I've fished through the logs and I get a crossbar related error and a few others that I can't decipher. I have installed ffdshow codecs and the k-lite codec pack as well, along with PowerDVD (these were the codecs I used on my old XP box, and GB-PVR always seemed to like those quite readily).
I believe I've covered all my bases here, but I'm at a wall guys. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I'll post my logs after I run the filtercheck, maybe you guys can decipher them and tell me what I need to do. Thanks!
P.S. If it makes a difference, I interact with the server over RDP.
Is there a way to make the remote run keyboard commands? For example on the emulators like ZSNES, could you make a key on the remote (such as 1) mapped to save the current state of a game (in ZSNES you do F2 to load and F4 to save).
Hi, I'm newish to GBPVR and having a few troubles.
A few weeks ago Sub recommended I get the Hauppauge HVR2200 (I want to get not only New Zealand DVB-T but also some of the old analog stations).
I've now got the HVR2200, selected the device and local transmitter, and GBPVR managed to find the channels and get the epg - cool. But for a while I was getting audio but no picture. After much adjustment (of antenna), I think I was suffering a weak signal - I eventually got a picture, stuttery at first but it came right. But now...
1) Now that I have the signal and have started changing channels, I get a picture on all, but the audio is actually only on TV1(AC3) and TV3(AC3). There are also channels TV1 and TV3 (without the AC3 suffix), but these have no audio either.
I've tried all the different audio decoders listed in the config, but none of them make a difference. Any ideas why I get no audio?
2) As mentioned above I also want to get those channels still on analog (Prime, triangle tv wgtn), hence this particular card. But where do I set those ones up? I thought maybe this was thru the TuningAssistant.exe (which I gather is for analog devices), but the HVR2200 is not listed. So how can this be achieved? (Selecting any other causes it to fail (failed to find Crossbar filter) and GPF )
3) Having got the antenna in a really sweet spot and apparently having an ok signal, I thought an uninstall/reinstall may be worth a try to see if it sorted out the audio problems. But now when I go back into capture devices, 'digital channel mapping' and scan for devices, GBPVR finds nothing. (As it scans it reads 'strength 0, quality 0'.)
I'm wondering if some of my troubles are coming down to the signal I'm getting, although the weather is perfect today (unlike the wind & sleet y'day)... before I uninstalled/reinstalled, if the antenna was in a bad position some signal strength graphic was displayed, but nothing ever in it, not even a low %. I.e it seems to appear if there is no detectable signal (unplug antenna, it reports no signal detected) or sometimes it reports 'channel is encrypted' (but TV1 isn't encrypted). It seems the signal is all-or nothing, with the signal strength meter appearing when no signal is there.
So is there any tool to show % signal strength (or something like that) so that I can see how good a signal I actually have?
In the "old" days we were dealing with the images directly so it was pretty easy. What about for the new stuff or would this be some helper function that we could get you to add?
Basically I guess I want to ask for an image so i can save it, or know the method that you use to convert a render array list back to an image.
Comskip can be selected to run during a recording.
I wondered if this function could be extend so that Comskip could flag an ad real-time and GBPVR monitor the flag to mute advertisements in live TV?
Older versions of GB-PVR (prior to PVRX2) seemed to remember different aspect ratios depending on whether you were in the watch recordings area or video library. PVRX2 doesn't seem to have this functionality. All my recordings are from SD TV and are 4:3, I like to watch them on my widescreen TV with the "Remove Letterbox" aspect ratio. 99% of my videos in the video library need to be watched with the aspect ratio set to "Auto". The old GB-PVR would remember these settings and not require me to switch back and forth manually all the time. Any chance this could make a return in PVRX2?
I've been messing around with several different PVR programs and setups trying to work out the best solution for me. My ideal would be a low power server to record programs, and a higher end client to run the interface smoothly that I could turn off when not needed to use less power.
I got this setup pretty much working in the past with GBPVR, but noticed one thing that bugged me: When changing channels on the remote server from the client, it took a little longer to change the channels. I think I read that this is from caching/buffering and streaming overhead on the server which makes sense. This would be fine most of the time, but is kind of a pain if you're just channel surfing.
My question is: If I put a second tuner in the client, is there a way to specify that live TV is done through that tuner to minimize the delay when changing channels? And similarly, makes sure it's the last tuner to record a program, in case I want to turn that computer off?
I would just try experimenting until I figured it out, but I only have one tuner, and thought I'd ask before I plunked down the money for additional tuners.
I have both an HVR1600 and an ATI650 installed in a test system and do not have cable attached.....ONLY an OTA antennae and I get pretty good reception. For now, config has the analog and ATSC tuners showing with the ATSC tuners listed first.
When I watch an ATSC channel, it place fine but the moment hit ctrl-k to record or use the guide to record it, it wants to use the analog tuner. I know I can (read as probably will soon) remove the analog tuner from config but why does it do this? No matter what order I have them in, it no longer sticks.
I'm running 1.2.13. For some reason using a PVR500 on another system I can move the 2 tuners around in config and they stick.
