I want to use it primarily to shedule recordings for shows. I had Cyberlink's PowerVCR II but the scheduler stopped working. I've tried the trial versions of PowerCinema, BeyondTV, SageTV, and AVS TVBox; the first three of which I really liked, but like I said, those are trials and the programs are at least $10. Any solid suggestions would be appreciated. Are there any good free PVR programs out there? GB-PVR isn't compatabile with my card?
I'm having intermittent failed recordings. Some recordings record just fine, but others do not record and I no longer have live TV after it has failed. It is just a black screen when I try to view live TV after a recording has failed. I have to restart the computer to get live TV back. I have tried different codecs and multiplexers, but nothing has helped. I have attached a log from after one of the failed recordings. Any help would be appreciated.
Okay, I tried to use this to clean up my scheduled recordings and maybe I shouldn't have. I did an export, edited the xml file to remove the duplicates, then tried to import it. It failed saying the recordings already existed. Duh. So I went through and purged all my recurring recordings and tried again. Same message. Rebooted and tried again - same message. I had saved the original export file so I tried importing that - and it worked. However, the settings for the recurring recording got hosed somehow. The pre-padding was changed from 1 minute to 2 minutes and the post-padding was changed from 2 minutes to 0 minutes. I was able to manually change this for the first 17 shows, then the details window that should have popped up when clicking "update" failed to pop. Rebooting doesn't help. Worst of all, the shows listed under recurring do not show up under "pending", nor do they show up as "red" on the TV Guide. Oh, and they don't get recorded either, but I guess that's not too surprising given the details above.
Is there a way to fix this or am I hosed? The real bummer is the shows that aren't on now (Summer schedule) can't be added until fall. Knowing me I'll probably forget and miss the premiers :-P
Fixed issue where small posters were downloaded in place of large posters. Delete the images in the "Posters\Large" folder and the proper ones will be downloaded when needed.
Improved loading of large posters. A large poster is only downloaded and loaded into memory if you view an item in Filmstrip mode or view details.
Fixed issue in the Details popup where a download option would be visible if an episode was not available.
Fixed issue where a "System out of memory exception" was thrown when attempting to load a corrupted poster image.

OK just got around to setting up a new/old client (same box some new innards) to stick back downstairs. All pretty much working except LiveTV, which is important to work for WAF.
Got this report from my log on the server when trying LiveTV:
In my pursuit of plug-ins I see a general lack of information especially in the wiki. I went there to get a better understanding of what additional features can be added in BUT the wiki doesn't seem very up-to-date at all with many plug-ins not even showing if they are supported with the latest version. Additionally, it seems like there are plug-ins shown on the forum that don't even have a wiki entry for them. Some listed on the wiki are now even included as standard features in the latest GBPVR version.
What would be most greatly welcomed here on the forum would be a sticky for each plug-in that gives an overview of its functionality, benefits, screenshots, etc. I find myself looking at plug-ins without a clue of what they do.
I don't mean this to be a b1tch session as I love GBPVR and I greatly appreciate all that everyone does here to develop these plug-ins on their own time. I just think that a wider audience could be met by at a minimum adding a sticky about each plug-in so it is easier to figure out what each one does.
I recently was able to get GBPVR up and running well and now I am looking at adding some plug-ins for additional functionality. So a question out there for all of you. What are some of the recommended plug-ins that you all use?
I'm sure this will create alot of different responses as everyone has different wants and needs. But I am still interested in what you all view as essential plug-ins and why you see these as such? What additional functionality do these offer above and beyond the (substantial) "basics" already in GBPVR?
