I've managed to get DVB-S up and running, but want to try and get DVB-T. I can get it in PowerCinema sort of, it picks up the channels but when I view them they are very jumpy most of the time.

But in GBPVR it wont even pick any channels up when I try to scan for DVB-T. Is there something I could be missing? Is there a guide on here somewhere?

Also are there any different channels on DVB-T vs DVB-S?
And how can I get Prime TV? Can I only pick that up using Analog?

Hi everyone, I'm trying to move over to gbpvr in hopes of creating a more user friendly HTC that can replace my MCE2005/dvbdream. I've scouted the boards for the past few days already so hopefully what I'm asking doesn't sound stupid. I've managed to get video playing; it's just the tvguide/epg setup that I'm still struggling with:

1. It seems the predominant approach to getting things working is first get a xmltv file and then map it to the actual channels on the card. I've successfully tried a few apps (YAPIX2MLT and the one for microsoft) and created and imported them to gbpvr. However, the mapping process is really painful. Am I the only one that wants to map ~500 automatically? Is there some sort of plugin that can take care of this for me? It seems UltraXMLTV Manager could have taken care of this but it seems like a dead app now :/

2. My XMLTV file is ~100mb. I noticed after I loaded it, gbpvr runs very slugish when I get into the tvguide. Is this a known issue? My gbpvr.db3 has grown to be ~100mb as well and doesn't seem to shrink even after I remove all my capture sources/channels... Is this normal?

3. Has anyone gotten the DVBEPG working? I'm currious if the plugins will be able to get movie information from IMDB (or the likes) using DVBEPG approach?

I schedule baseball games to have 125 minutes of Post Padding through XScheduler. When I went to play back the recording the progress bar showed the recording proceding past the normally scheduled time for the game to end but the recording stopped at the time the game was supposed to end. Is their anything I can do to fix this, is there a log I can post?

Over the long civic holiday weekend here I have had a chance to work out some logic and I now believe I can do much more with mono to give comskip, resume, and even MVP like file navigation and better live tv actually integrating a bit with llink on the NMT.

Also on the weekend, Syabas and I started discussions on how they are implementing resume. It is now pretty clear that I have to make a choice, at least for the next few months, and choose one approach or the other. The advantage to staying with Syabas will be that you get their improvements in file handling

Note that the I am only planning on making these changes for mpeg files and avi and mkv files will be basically handled natively.

So my question to you, based on your experience with your PCH to-date would you prefer I stay the course with Syabas or switch to the Hauppauge path?

I am planning on moving to Freeview hopefully using Digital terrestrial DVB-T via uhf as this should be the easiest install for me and allows for freeview HD. So now I am trying to select a digital tuner for this purpose and I like the looks of the Hauppauge WinTV-HVR4000 HD Quad-mode TV receiver as well as the Hauppage WinTV HVR 3000 Triple mode. I like these as I can use satellite if the signal isn't up to scratch but the also have analogue tuners built in. For the HVR 4000 the features say 'With Digital Video Recorder record analogue, DVB-T or DVB-S TV in high quality MPEG-2' does this mean it has a hardware mpeg2 encoder for analogue and the HVR does not? What are the main differences between these two TV cards? Any thing I should be aware of for user with Freeview HD?

I am moving to a place that can only get dial-up or satellite internet, and I refuse to get satellite. So I won't be on the net much after tonight (surfing is too painful on dial-up after having broadband, this will be my third time going back to dial-up). It is also impractical downloading xmltv data for the number of channels I want via dial-up, so my PVR project will move to storage again. Thanks for letting me participate in the forums.

Have found with live tv on the above setup that after 20 minutes or so, the video will restart to the beginning.

Doesn't seem to happen on recordings.

Anyone else experienced this? What logs would be useful to look at?
