I'm wondering what is the best method for integrating VLC for playing AVI files from a DVD.
At the moment, I can get VLC to open as a result of inserting a DVD; however, after playing the AVI I cannot get PVRX2 (or GBPVR) to redisplay it's menu. Instead I have to kill it off and start it again. Not a very clean solution.
Is there some way of integrating VLC so that when I click on DVD (or have it autostart) that VLC will start playing the DVD AVI file automatically and then cleanly return to PVRX2 (or GBPVR) after VLC has finished playing or VLC has been exited?
Also, would there be some advantage is setting VLC as the DVD Navigator? If so, how can I do this as it does not appear as a Navigator choice (even though it is installed)?

After returning a Hauppauge HD S2 'cos I could never get it to work reliably, I purchased a Compro S350 card (Dava, it's your fault!)
But it's exactly the same - random crashes when changing channels, Does not find all the channels when scanning...not just just in GBPVR, but other software. The crashes happen on SD channels, not just HD ones...
I am wondering if the problems may be connected to switching between Horizontal and vertical polarity? Most LNB's seem to require 14 or 18 volts being constantly fed to them. I did not think the PCI bus could supply this much voltage; it's 12-volt, isn't it? Maybe it varies slightly from one motherboard to the next?

This is from the manufacturer of my LNB: Both the conversion of the two frequency bands and the conversion of the polarisation planes are effected separately. Switching between polarisation planes takes place by means of a variation in the voltage of the current supplied to the LNB (14 Volts for the vertical resp. 18 Volts for the horizontal plane). On the other hand, the upper frequency band is controlled via a 22 KHz signal that is superimposed on the LNB power supply current.
hey guys! I'm new to GB-PVR and already loving it. i got live tv working great with schedules and im trying to tackle the infrared remote that my Hauppauge 1950 came with. I installed HIP and I added in the Hauppage remote config file and the remote key file. It just doesnt seem to do anything. what am i missing?
I added new channels to my guide because I bought a new ATSC tuner.
I had a small issue before getting channel icons to display in my TV Guide & the web, but when I removed the number from the name, it all worked well. (i.e. "2 WBBM.jpg" became "WBBM.jpg")
So I added the new icons for the new channels, just like before, to gbpvr\media\ChannelLogos.
I can see the icon well in the TV Guide, but not on the web interface.
I cannot see the new channel icons I added on the web interface, the channel name is only displayed for these channels.
I'm having some problem with the GB-PVR Wiki for Popcorn hour A-100: http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Hardware/NMT Under "Test Telnet" instruction 1 I get the following message "request can not be processed" I've followed the instructions above Test Telnet, but I'm not sure how to get this part of the installation right.
I'm using latest Popcorn FW and latest version of GBPVR
My GBPVR setup has been running for about 2 years now with little or no interaction from me, so well I try to never touch the GBPVR server at all.
I've come to the point that I'm finding things are running more and more sluggish. I think I've found the culprit. Seems my C drive is full and struggling for working space. I have nothing installed on the C drive except the OS, winXP-pro, and associated drivers.
I found in my C:\Documents and Settings\GBpvr\Local Settings\Temp directory 15 gigs of temp files. They range in age from 3 years ago to yesterday so I assume that it's still being used and I can't delete them, even though my GBPVR is installed on the D drive.
Can I delete at least everything but this years files in order to gain working space on my C drive?
To save me some digging around, does anybody know how to disable Vista Ultimate's MCE popping up whenever I press the guide / logo buttons on the MCE remote?
Sorry if this is covered somewhere. I did a brief search but couldn't find it. I installed an HVR-1600 not too long ago and haven't recorded much OTA HD stuff but the couple of recordings I've made look like they're DVR-MS files. I was under the impression GBPVR didn't use this format. Is this something to do with the broadcaster or the OTA HD format? All my SD recordings are still just regular mpegs.
It's not really a complaint just a curiosity more then anything.
