Occasionally when watching live TV on the PCH, I will hit the stop button, the screen goes black for a second or so, and I expect to see the GBPVR interface.
However, the buffering screen shows up, and then the channel I was watching starts playing again.

I understand that I can't watch a 'watch now' movie on MVP. But can I manage my Netflix queues from an MVP? I know I tried this once and wasn't successful. The ability to manage the queues from an MVP would be a great feature.
The features section on the main gbpvr page says that it has support for FM radio. I was wondering how to do I get to it or enable it? I would like to listen to the radio through the tuner in my pvr-150 mce card, since I don't have a stereo in my room at the moment.
I've tried the official software from the manufacturer, but it doesn't work. It just gives me missing dll file errors and I really can't find much on the application. I would really like to get this working in GB-PVR since I haven't seen much else that would support my tuner.
I am still setting up the system in my sig. The only issue is that any channel change while watching live TV sends you back to the main menu. Logs attached. In the logs I reproduced the problem at 9:26:28 this morning.
I am playing ATSC video at the time with timeshifting enabled.
I have an unusual problem that appears to affect dvd's only. It occurs if I'm viewing an actual dvd (with anydvd running on the system) or if I'm viewing a dvd that has been dumped to the hd using dvdfab. While watching a movie the movie will freeze at some random time and gbpvr needs to be manually killed to get out of it.
This behavior only seems to happen with dvd's, any other video formats I view on my system work fine and never crash.
I have set dvd's to play with a couple of different decoders to see if that was the issue and haven't really come to any conclusions on that. Combinations of purevideo or pdvd8 for the video decoders and ffdshow or mpa filter for the audio decoders give similar results, although it does seem like when using mpa as the audio decoder (passthrough) the crash occurs more quickly.
No other decoders should be in the way, as my directshow graphs show the simplest flow possible - the default microsoft navigator splits the signals to the video and audio filters I described above and those feed into the default video and directaudio outputs.
Anybody have any ideas on what might cause something like this?
I'm trying out gbpvr on my windows xp sp3 pc. I have an ATI 550 pro analog card and I am using cable for my source. My sound card is a creative x-fi.
My issue with sound is that I am getting a loud background hiss and sometimes squeal. When I record it also shows up in the recording. I have had this problem with other pvr software, but I have not had it with it SageTV or MediaPortal. It comes out clean and sharp with those two programs. With those two I leave the decoder settings on auto, and even if I change those settings, the sound still comes out sharp and clear.
With gbpvr I have tried various settings in the mpeg2 decoder settings (for source) doesn't seem to make much of a difference. But when I choose AC3 for a decoder, the squeal goes away, but not the hiss. Any ideas what I should try. I have looked though the wiki, and on line, but I haven't found anything that explains in details the various decoders and renders and what they do.
I also noticed that when I configure my card under Capture Sources, there is a quaility profile settings. If I click edit I get choices for audio bit rate and and audio sample rate. Do I mess with these or just leave them alone to reflect the predefined quality setting. Mine is currently set to High Quality.
If default settings don't work, do I just select various ones from the various drop down boxes until I'm satisfied with the audio quaility, or is there a rhyme and reason to this. If anyone knows any links to guides or such that explain this stuff well, could you give me a link?
As an FYI, if you are using/will be using an HD Homerun box from SiliconDust, I would recommend not upgrading to the latest drivers posted on their site (20080727). This version caused many problems and would keep me from mapping my channels in the Capture Source tab of the Config app. Once I went back to a prior version of the drivers everything was good again.
What video type is Live satellite HD?
Only I have set ffdshow as my decoder for everything - mpeg2, H264, MP4 etc, but when watching a HD satellite feed, ffdshow is not being used.
It is used for SD satellite TV, DVB-T, and recordings (TS) of HD satellite.
SO I cannot figure out why it does not do the live stuff...
I noticed on http://www.popcornhour.com that they are taking advances order on a couple of new products. Although it's not really news because a NZ website leaked this long ago, the pricing might be of interest.
What this will mean for mvpmcx2 users is not clear, ie how is the firmware being released, but I still think the basic A100 meets the needs of most GB-PVR users who want a diskless solution.
