Anyone record this? I missed it and the missus is pretty disappointed. NBC only has three episodes online and the latest is the 7/24 airing.

I was tweaking one of my clients between streaming and filesharing to have a play with BBC HD on the client and the picture was a right mess, pixelation, streaking, ugh. I thought that "OK, filesharing is too slow for HD" and started the server recording the show rather than watch it live. Same result - "Network too slow then", copy file across and it was the same.

It turns out my recording drive had been, yet again, set to PIO mode in windows and HDTach was showing it as 3MB/s rather than the normal 80MB/s. The options are grey'd out in control panel, so the usual way out is to delete the IDE interface and reboot windows to re-detect it.

A bit of googling found a script to do most of it (except the reboot) and a M/S kb article that may have an answer as to why it does it.

I have GBPVR running on a 2.03 GHz machine and capturing ATSC channels with a Pinnacle 800e USB tuner. I use the device's drivers for decoding and the Cyberlink Mux (version 1307) for the BDA Multiplexer. A channel scan shows that I pick up 2 channels marked with (eng) and 10 channels marked with (000,(AC3)) or (eng,(AC3)). When I record shows, I find that the channels marked with (eng) stay in sync, but the other channels become noticeably out of sync after 15 minutes. I've played the mpg files on other machines using windows media player and see the same out-of-sync problem so I'm ruling out playback issues on the GBPVR machine.

After reading various forum messages about sync problems, it seems like the logs aren't much help. So, here's where I need the insight:

1. Is there a different chain of filters for processing (eng) type streams as there is for (AC3) type streams? If so, is there a way to determine what filters are used for each chain?

2. If there is just one filter chain, which is the more likely assumption?
- The computer just doesn't have enough horsepower to process AC3 streams
- One of the filters incorrectly processes AC3 streams

I'm having a big problem sorting out decoders to cope with Live TV, playback of GBPVR TV recordings & watching MPEG recorded videos (Windows MPEG Movie Files, as opposed to Microsoft Recorded TV Show).

My main problems are;

1. I cannot get a picture on BBC1 - only sound. Sub suggests trying other video decoders rather than system default. (I did briefly find a workable option by accident and can't replicate it now! However it seemed to be dependant upon the choices of video decoder, audio decoder & options and audio renderer. It also caused other audio problems.)
   
   
   
2. Playback of TV recordings from GBPVR have problems with audio playback, it's kind of warbling.
   
   
   
3. Playing mpeg movie files also has a problem with the audio. The soundtrack is a long way out of sync with the video.
   

I'm looking to move to HD with DVB-T. I think, but am not sure, that HD TV has to be recorded as a TS file as the other formats can't hold it, or require re-coding on the fly. I'm not sure of the reason.
The big problem helping myself is that words like 'hd' and 'ts' are too short for the search engine and are excluded from the search. I understand that you don't want it searching words like 'to' and 'of', but can the search engine be told what 2 letter words should be included?
I'd possibly be able to help myself if 'hd' and 'ts' were included in my searches.

Ok, I am going to try to provide as much info on this problem as I can.
I have 2 computers, both running xp pro, both have a pvr-usb2 plugged into them (although only 1 is setup to work with gbpvr, the other just acts as an ir receiver for the remote).
One of the computers is setup with pvr-usb2 hooked up to my dvr sat. dish and it acts as a server for my other computer that is setup as a client (in the capture devices tab of the config file). The server computer is plugged directly into the router and the client is running on wireless but has full service (it is only about 15 feet from the router).
So, everything works great when I open gbpvr (PVRX2). The program (on the client computer) opens with no problems and I am able to start-up live TV (without any major issues....there is a small one...but more on that later **).
Everything is fine until I close live tv (either by pushing stop or by closing the program). About 1 second after I stop the live tv the entire computer locks up. Everything freezes and the only thing I can do is restart the computer. If I open the live tv on the computer that is "serving" the tv (i.e. the one that pvr-usb2 is setup on) I have no problems.
This issue started occurring awhile ago (version 1.0.8 or something like that), but I haven't taken the time to post it till now since I don't use this method of watching tv very often.
I have tried changing the various video renderers and decoders and the issue still persists. I have also installed the newest version of gbpvr and .net framework and neither fixed the problem. Also, I have tried both streaming and file sharing options on the client computer, and the computer crashes under both options
I am tired of restarting my computer everytime I stop watching live tv on the gbpvr. Someone please help!
**going back to the small issue, the other issue with the live tv on the client computer is that it has a huge delay. I use my satelite remote while watching on the client computer and from button push until the result appears on the screen is about 8 seconds! I am not sure is there is any fix for this as this could just be a limitation of streaming, but be aware the this issue exists regardless of if the client computer is wired to the router or wireless. Also, If this issue has to do with timeshifting, I would like to know how to turn that off since I really don't care about timeshifting for my purposes.

I have the Hauppage WinTV HVR-1250 tuner and been trying to get analog TV to work. I keep getting a blank screen for a few second then brings me back to the main menu. If I use the tuner assistant I can view all my analog channels, but not from the main menu. Here is the clip from my pvx2 log file.

I am trying to use file sharing because it seems more stable for me than than streaming. The only problem I am having with file sharing is that when I start live tv it goes back to the main menu after playing the first few seconds of video. If I hit rewind a few times when playback begins then I have no issues. I have tried to increase the delay to 4000 but it doesn't seem to have helped. In the attached logs I started live tv and hit rewind to show that it works and then exited. I then started live tv and let it play till it went back to the menu. Anybody have any suggestions?

Sub, I'm trying to play with the demux settings in the config.ini file. I've found that using graphedit if I change to a different demux and vmr7 then my content plays back without problems. Otherwise in GBPVR it plays back with jerks in the video content. So I've modified the preferredmpegplayback entry in config.xml like so:

The log says it's using the GBPVR parser, and ignoring the config.xml setting. Can I not change the demux? Or am I changing it in the wrong spot?

When every I open up the PVRX2 every thing seem to work fine TV guide, DVD, and Net Radio. But when I try to open Live TV it opens for a few seconds I can see the info bar but the screen is black then it goes right back to the main menu. Does anyone know why this happens?
