Just upgraded? to Vista after replacing some memory on my computer. I had QAM working under XP, but the channel scan is not picking anything up now that I'm running Vista.
I've searched the forum with no luck, and I'm about out of ideas. Attached are my logs if someone would be so kind as to help me out...
I should be getting about 7 clear QAM stations and 3 or 4 dozen encrypted channels showing up in the scan, based on my experience under XP.
I'm sure I should know this... but I'm stuck. I've got an audio codec being used and I don't know where it came from, and there doesn't appear to be an uninstaller for it. So how do I go about removing this codec?
I'm just about sorted now with two Hauppage Nova-T 500 cards I think.
Only problem I have is that I cannot get any picture on BBC1 in Live TV. (Haven't tried recording).
All other channels are fine, and I have retuned all four tuners at differents times. Sound is ok and I get TV Guide and programme details when I change channels.
A couple of time I have managed to get a picture when scrolling thru.
The server is a Vista Basic machine using GBPVr 1.2.9. Clients are XP Pro machines, one with 1.2.9 and one with 1.2.13.
I have shared the server GBPVR directory as directed by the Wiki so that 'everyone' has read and write privileges, but when any machine on my network tries to access this directory it says that i don't have permission.
I have disabled the firewalls (F-Secure) on all the machines whilst i try and get this working.
I know this is a Windows issue but i notice other people have gotten this working and i would love to know how. Currently i get the big red cross when i open PVRX2 on a client and a list of 8 tuners.
I've been using GBPVR for a while now - I love it and have recommended it to all my mates!
However (there's always a butt )...whilst trawling the forums and various resources (skins) for GBPVR I've found that some people have nice icons for their recorded shows depicting a scene or similar of their recording...how does this work?
As I understand it GB-PVR depends on there being a hardware mpeg2 encoder on the card, or USB2 device. If so, which decoder(s) does GB-PVR use for live video and in what sequence? If the transport stream is already in mpeg2 why can't this just be displayed directly on screen, rather than needing an H.264 decoder filter?
What is the sequence of filters the video stream goes through, from incoming digital TV to screen rendering?
I'm trying to understand this to get a handle on CPU usage, as my machine freezes in live TV in GB-PVR after a few minutes, probably from CPU overload, although its dual core and I need to know which filter is critical to on-the-fly decoding, and how it recognizes the graphics card etc. in a given machine.
I have an unsupported card and am using my own graphs. Preview is fine but I cannot record. I have deleted the gbpvr.db3 database and reconfigured my capture settings, but it did not help. Here is the relevant text in my log file.
Any ideas?

Ever since I started playing with DVB-T in NZ I've used the Cyberlink PowerDVD codec as it's been one of the few to take advantage of hardware acceleration. Tday however I took a look at Arcsoft TotalMedia Theatre and have to say I am really impressed.
Many of the issues I had experienced with audio/video sync and issues after skipping forward or back numerous times have all gone and GB-PVR is working better than ever. There does still seem to be a random issue with file lengths being misreported (even with the 1.2.13 patch) however things are working far better than they ever were with the PowerDVD codec.
The software is available as a free download from http://www.arcsoft.com with a 14 day trial so there is no harm in having a look if you want to try an alternative to PowerDVD.
I've installed the latest version of gbpvr and it's up and running. All Freeview DVB-T channels display video, but the only channels I get sound on are TV One (AC3) and TV3 (AC3). I'm fairly sure this will be a codec issue, but having tried numerous options in the config without success, I hope that someone on this forum can point me in the right direction.
Can someone please advise what MPEG-2 Playback Codecs and Advanced codecs I should use to get sound on all channels?
Incidentally, the HVR-3000 card works perfectly with Cyberlink PowerCinema, but I'd much prefer to use gbpvr
