I was wondering if GBPVR supports the old DISH 500 (non-DishPro) LNB's with the built-in SW21 switches? Or even the DPP44 (Dish Pro Plus 44) switches? Haven't be able to find a definitive answer yet by searching.
I have a dedicated GBPVR box which displays on my 37 inch LCD. I also spawn a client off it in my bedroom. I dont have any other software installed on either box. And they just run and run and run. I guess that my main HTPC has been up and runnning for at least 6 weeks (since the last update) it's not missed a recording. It plays everything back fine. It records two channels at once and I can play back a 3rd at the same time. It's great it really is.
I hear how so many other PVR apps eg mediaportal crash all the time. OK mediaportal is free but I would be hard pushed to belive that even paid up apps can match GBPVR for reliablity.
If I add a recurring recording, it seems to add at the top of the priority list. That messes up the carefully ordered priorities of important shows near the top. I'd rather it was inserted at the bottom, then I could bump it up if it was more important. Since I don't know how to "add at the bottom" of priorities, I normally go into the list of recurring and move it.
I read somewhere that the FF key moves priorities up, and that works great, but the rewind key doesn't seem to move it down. The combo of add at the top plus only a "move up" key means I have to push all the other programs up instead of moving the one I want down.
I'm sure I've got something broken or I'm missing something about the correct key to decrease priority or perhaps a config setting for "add new recurring at the bottom," but searching hasn't turned it up. Can anyone help me out? Thanks.
I've finally resolved my MKV sound problem playing in GBPVR and I'd just like to ask a few questions on why it works.
Here's the problem: I've got a couple of MKV movies that when played in GBPVR the sound would "buzz" which I think is actually clipping or at least some kind of distortion. Using the same filters and renderers (so I thought) Media player classic plays it just fine. Also, when these files are played the lastgraph.grf would not open.
The solution: instead of telling GBPVR the audio renderer explicitly I just told it to use system default and set the device through windows.
Other observations:
- after doing this the overall sound seemed to have reduce noticably and I had to adjust some volume boosting and stuff like that but now my mkv files play properly
- before making the changes a change in volume would invoke the OSD while playing a video and now it doesn't.
- one file actually caused stuttering which it now doesn't do
My question is: what's the difference between system default audio renderer and telling GBPVR which renderer to use despite them being the same.
Side quetions: I'm only using my onboard sound but I get like 4 different entries for audio renderer some of which have the same name except with directshow, defaultwave or something like that in front.
Other details - using CCCP as my decoders for everything except for MPEG2 which is AVIVO
I have previously posted about this but after another couple of months of fiddling about with things I still seem to be having major stability issues which I can only attribute to MDAPI filter.
I have used various version of the filter and various plugins but I still seem to be having these issues. My current setup is version 2.1.3 of the filter as posted by Heerfordt a few weeks ago, Along with Yankse and Snitch.
On a fresh boot, the filter will start up, load the plugins and everything will work. Sometimes, however, when changing channel, GBPVR will close. Opening up the app again, the filter will not load and TV will not start only a black screen will be shown but no notice to even say that the channel is encrypted. Only a reboot will allow TV to be started again.
Other times, when I have been previosly been watching TV, stop it and come back several hours later, I will not be able to load TV or the filter. Again I will get a black screen and nothing else, forcing me to reboot the machine to get things working again.
Does anyone have any idea what is going on here as it is causing me no end of grief to get things working?

I'm using one Hauppage Nov-T 500 at the mo, planning on adding a second when all teething troubles are ironed out.
Just to prove that it all works I scheduled a number of recordings overnight with time overlaps, two channels at once etc.
:o Mostly all seems fine but the recording list shows a couple of files which wont play. On checking the files in the recording directory I can see that the troublesome recordings are split into two files of only 6KB each.
:o Also most strangely the GBPVR icon has disappeared from the toolbar by the clock. I think that the recording service was still running though, didn't think to check this before I re-started the recording service.
Another oddity is the fact that I cannot adjust the audio volume. I get a moving slider on the OSD which goes up & down but it has no effect on the output volume. In config I have tried both master & local volume settings. Local does not show the OSD at all. Is this as simple as experimenting with different audio devices/renderers in config do you think??

In "Video Library" I have 3 folders listed.
2 are local and one is a network share \\server\share
On the MVP all the folders show up BUT I can only browse the 2 local ones. IF I try and go into the remote/share it doesn't error it jsut sits there and does nothing. On my box that has GBPVR installed all three work as expected.
Allatached are my logs. I am currently running 1.2.9 but same issue happens in 1.2.13. Anyone have any suggestions?
Since the unpredictability of time seeking isn't going away any time soon, how can we deal with files that have the most problems? Some can't skip, FF or anything at all. I tried running them through tsremux but it didn't make a difference.
Does anyone know of any programs that can help out (at least with the worst ones?)
