I restarted my router a little earlier not realising my wife was watching a recorded programme on the MVP.
After the router restarted, the MVP continued to flash a 'broken connection' symbol and I couldn't put it into standby from remote. I power-cycled it but it never managed to download the dongle (I waited quite a few minutes).
I then used task manager to kill the pvrx2 mvp process, the rec. service created a new one but still no dongle download (the MVP was powered up at the time).
In the end, I had to unplug power on the MVP, kill the pvrx2 mvp process again then power up the MVP at which point it recovered.
There's an exception logged in the -3 log at the time I rebooted the router. I was wondering if this caused the lockout and prevented the MVP from recovering.
I added a new video card and tuner to a PC that I have been using GBPVR on for quite some time. This PC has gotten so bloated over the years that I decided to do a complete reinstall of Windows in order to just clear some things up and install just the drivers, codecs and other software I absolutely wanted on there. Well since doing that I'm having a little trouble getting gbpvr working again. I added an HVR-1600 and have been trying to get it convigured at first I was just getting no response within gbpvr to selecting live tv but now I can't even enter the config without it locknig up. Every time I hit ok it just kind of hangs there. I didn't really see anything but I've attached the log files I'm sure some of you more knowledgable people will see something.
Should the LNB switch numbers be the same in GBPVR config as those on a Sky STB?
Only I noticed that GBPVR has 11700 in the LNB switch, but the Sky box has a setting of 11778.
I have no idea what this is - I am new to Satellite and it all seems very foreign.
For what it's worth, my dish has a quad LNB fitted.
My cable company (Timewarner WNY) is going to use SDV in the near future. I was wondering how this will affect my HTPC.
My main unit is running GBPVR with 2 HD Homerun units which are set up for QAM channels & two Hauppauge HVR 1600 tuners which record analog cable & OTA ATSC. In my area the in the clear QAM channels are mostly the local channels. According to the info I've read this SDV switch will need two way communication between the tuners and the cable companies local neighborhood node. On a different HTPC I have a couple of HVR 1600 tuners set up for QAM channels.
Will I be able to still tune in my ITC QAM channels with my QAM tuners?
Will I be able to still tune in the analog channels with my analog tuners?
Normally with my HDTV I use the cable set top box for regular viewing but occasionally I use the set's own tuner>>> will this be affected also?
I built a new HTPC and after setting up BDA capture source I tried the pause functionality but it displays black screen for few seconds and goes back top Main menu. Attached is the logs zip.
Eight months ago, I build a new PVR. I have noticed that occasionally when I am playing back a recorded HD TV program, I get really bad stuttering. I don't know if this is due to a particular recording or possibly CPU utilization. How can I check my CPU utilization while I am playing back a recorded program? The task manager is always behind GBPVR. Is there some way to run GBPVR in a window which would then allow me to watch the CPU utilization at those times when there is stuttering? I want to make sure that CPU utilization is the problem before I arbitrarily replace the CPU.
First off I want to say thank you to all the folks who have worked on GB-PVR and its plugins. Although I'm not all the way there yet (still a few small issues with the Dbox2Recorder Plugin - posted in another thread) I've had a relatively trouble-free time setting it up.
And I want to apologise if this is the wrong place to post this thread - I checked the obvious sections out and did a forum search and couldn't come up with anything relevant.
So without any further preamble, here are my problems:
I have a couple of small issues with cross-indexing the TV Guide's EPG and the channels that my DBox2 has picked up through the plugin.
First off I found that I had to hand input all the channel numbers from the Radio Times XML feed to the Dbox2 capture device listings. Is this normal or is there an automated way to do it because I'm worried that I'll have to redo this when I (a) reinstall and (b) update my EPG.
Secondly there are a couple of channels missing - nothing really major but I'd like to be able to record Baby TV. I checked the RT website and they don't list it as an available channel from my service provider. But I do get it, I promise
Thirdly there are some huge leaps of faith needed when it comes to matching channel names. The RT XML file lists all the BBC and ITV regional channels with the correct names but my DBox2 isn't putting out the whole information string. Any help here?
Fourth (and last) - is there any way to re-order the channels listed in the TV Guide? They seem to be totally random and nonsensical. I can live without them being ordered according to any genre specific definitions, but A to Z would definately be a step up.
I'm hoping that there might be an xml file listing all the channel information that I can hand edit, but I haven't found it yet.

So the coax cable comes out of the wall to the DVR box; then out of the box with a HDMI cable to the TV. I was think of connecting it with the coax coming out of the wall going to the GBPVR box, out of the GBPVR box to the Comcast box and then HDMI out of the Comcast box to the TV. So what video card would be able to do this?
