Would it be possible to run gbpvr on streamers (PCH, etc.) via HTTP? I use Swisscenter that is HTTP/PHP driven and it runs fast/flawless on my PCH. It doesn't have the recording feature which is huge for me. I was wondering if it is possible to create a plugin similar to the EWA plugin that would bring the complete functionality of gbpvr over HTTP. Not only would this work for the PCH, but all web enabled media streamers. I'm not a programmer so I don't know how this would be done with gbpvr. What do you think?

I have 2 HVR-1600s receiving OTA ATSC channels. Both tuners are seen by GBPVR, and I can set them up to record 2 shows in the same time slot without a conflict. However, when recording is complete, only one show has actually been recorded. GBPVR creates a folder for both shows, but the files in the folder for the 2nd show (TV show file plus comskip files) are too small to be a TV show - always 6KB). This happens whenever there is an overlap in recording - whether the 2 recordings start at the same time or at different times. GBPVR announces that recording has begun on each of the tuners at the appropriate time, but only one recording is successful. Has anyone else had this happen and is there something I can do to fix it? Thanks!

So far I have tried many of the hints and tips I can find around the forums but I am still having lots of issues.

I am trying to EVR and Hardware acceleration working, but i can't tell if HA is working my cpu usage jumps up and down and corresponds with stuttering in the live tv.

I have tried numerous codecs, muxes etc to the point where it is probably now a huge mess. Is there someway i can remove all the extra stuff and start again without a rebuild?

The menus on the community skin are also very choppy and unfortunately detracts from the whole experience, oh why did i upgrade?

I get what looks like lots of dropped frames and the audio drops out withit, and while the pc gets a vista experince score of 2.0 the box claims ha and blue ray playback etc etc. I can hybrid sli the mobo but as it is new i haven't got the money and would like to give this a chance.

any ideas where i can go from here?

I've been trying to get GB-PVR to work for some time now and now that I have the free time, I'm now coming to the forum with help.
I have a Avermedia 780 card on the ATSC tuner running on a quad core system (so it meets specs). I just updated to the latest release and my problem still persists. I am able to load the EPG using yapi2xml. However, when I go to watch Live TV to test my set up, the screen just flashes and stays on the menu. If I click on the TV Guide, the window turns white and crashes. Going back into config, I see that it has unchecked the channels that were checked during set up. I used to have a separate problem with the old GBPVR.exe, but since that's gone, I won't go into it (said the EPG wasn't there when it was).
Any way to point me in the right direction?

I have been using GBpvr 0.97.7 for quite a long time with no issues but decided it was time to upgrade to the newer version of 1.2.13

I've got it installed ok and I can run config.exe. I setup my capture device which is a Hauppauge PVR150MCE and checked the other settings etc. However, when I try to run PVRX2.exe nothing happens. Taskmanager confirms that PVRX2 is running but no UI comes up and the PC is unresponsive. The only way out is to end task in taskmanager. When I then go back into config again I find that the capture source is empty.

I now find that if I setup the capture source, then click OK to close config and then go back into config, I find the capture source is empty. I just can't get it to retain the capture source settings.

The PC is running WinXP Professional SP2 with .net 2.0 and I installed vcredist_x86.exe as advised in the release notes.


If anyone can offer any guidance I'd be very gratefull.

I just upgraded from 1.2.9 to 1.2.13 but this issue was there before the upgrade.

I am getting my STARZ channel listings in #s 609-620 instead of in channel #s 521-529 as I used to. DirecTV uses the 521-529 sequence. My SchedulesDirect lineup looks fine but each time I "remove" the undesired #s they keep coming back when I update the EPG. Illoks like there's a bad association somewhere but I don't know where to go to fix it.

FWIW, the other channels seem to be fine.

I can't reproduce this problem every time but often enough to wonder. Only with 2 channels (5 and 12) 5 is TLC and 12 is a local public station. 12 always shows 12 but a number of times, channel 5 is playing what's on the public station-12. This doesn't happen with any other channels and when it does, it I go back and forth many times, it corrects itself until later on when it happens again.
I think I saw this posted a while back and the suggestion was to update the guide which does seem to help for a day or so.
Any ideas? It's not really a bid deal, just bugs me cuz I'm the curious kind.

I have a Nova T 500 card with standard XP system (SP3) and latest GB PVR. When I try mapping the channels in the config utility I do not get all those that I do using Win TV ver 6.0 ( which seems to scan and find all channels) AND I get a crash. "GB PVR configuration has encountered a problem etc" as well as .NET framework error. I had a quick look in the config.exe log and it seems that all the programmes are found for each MUX but the resultant tuning request does not relate?

Looks like a great application, if I could get it up and running which I know is most likely down to me!!

I'm just bring my system back up after a HD failiure...so I've restaged XP with ATI550 and GBPVR. Before this everything was working very nicely, buy not so anymore:

1) No video for live or video playback --> black screen with the OSD
2) Audio plays ok
3) Channel changing ok
4) Played around with diferent codecs in the config utility
5) Installed ATI WDM drivers
6) NVidia PureVideo decorder installed

I've attached my log...not sure where to go since I've pretty much did everything I did before.

I’m a mediaportal user but I’m thinking of getting a popcorn hour to replace my htpc. So for TV I’ll be using gbpvr. Below is my current setup, and can I replicate my current setup? What do I need to be aware of? What will work and what won’t work? Are there anyone at the forum running gbpvr and have ComHem as cable provider that can share some info?

Swedish cable provider ComHem, FireDTV-C for digital TV with a subscription card for channels I subscribe to. Hauppauge WinTV-PVR-150 for analogue TV.

TV-server running Windows Server 2003 SP2 (I use this computer for some work stuff to, thats why I need Windows Server…) MP TV Server handles TV and the EPG and recordings, I never watch TV on the server, only the server software is installed there.

Clients: I have three computers running MediaPortal and the TV client installed. Living room, bedroom and ”the office”. It’s important for me to be able to watch TV at all these locations. I plan on replacing the computers in the living room and bedroom with popcorn hour. As a remote I use Microsoft MCE remote.

Is there anyone who has written a guide how to set this stuff up from end to end?
