when i delete a file or folder from pch it doesnt delete, when i use mvp it will delete

still using a crt with an xcard for my media, but am becoming increasingly frustrated with the limits of tvedia 3.5. GBPVR 99.12 seems to work with my current setup and single technotrend tuner, but I was wondering if anyone had experiences of using the xcard in combo with 99.12 and the nova-t 500 dual tuner. Does it work? Is it stable? Any input would be much appreciated.

My Twinhan got itself in an odd state and needed a reboot. However this wasn't picked up properly by GB-PVR, which carried on as if it had just finished recording, deleting the recording entries straight afterwards (probably because the file was 'gone'). I didn't get any 'Failed' entries in the guide, so I didn't pick up the problem for at least a week.

Hey all,

I have the following setup:
HTPC connected with DVI/HDMI to my hdtv and to my projector (using cinch).
Since there's a huge difference in resolution between tv and projector (1920 * 1080 vs 800 * 600) i cannot use clone mode in ATI ccc. Therefore I use the extended desktop mode, so the video i'm playing on the telly shows fullscreen on the projector. This works fine outside gb-pvr with media player classic, but if i play a video using gb-pvr nothing shows up on the projector.

I have the lastest ATI driver and GB-PVR 1.2.9.

Any suggestions how to sort this would be appreciated !

I've been getting poor HD playback (actually poor playback on anything from my QAM tuner). In the config I cannot choose what decoder h.264 files are run with. Is there a way to register the decoder I want to use? I have the Purevideo decoder which as I understand works pretty well with ATI cards as well as nVidia ones, and I know that the HD4850 is more card than is needed for quality hardware based HD decoding, I just don't know how to force the hardware to decode the channel stream.

When I play an HD file, the Purevideo decoder panel tells me that I'm using software decoders and my processor is pegged at 100% the whole time.

Just put my first DVR machine together. I'm sure there's something obvious I've screwed up, but I've spent two days trying to figure out what it is, so I thought I'd enlist some help. I've got my analog cable going into a Comcast STB and coming back out by RF into a Hauppauge 1600. I've got the source set up as analog controlled by external tuner.

The IR blaster and remote that came with the card are working fine, I can see the channels changing on the box, but no matter how I configure gbpvr I can't get picture or sound. I'm not sure if I have the right fixed channel, but I've tried 3, 4, and 2, and none work. I then tried using composite out instead. Set that up and it didn't work either.

I know the problem isn't strictly gbpvr related because WinTV doesn't work either, but haupauge support sucks, so I thought someone on these forums might be able to get me on track. As is, I'm at my wit's end.

I'm trying to set up one pc to act as a client with gbpvr but since setting it to do that whenever I try to start pvrx2 I get a big white screen with a red x through it. I don't know what that is. I've noticed it before however on this PC when trying to check system information through gbpvr.

Also, all I saw in the wiki description was to share the tv folder and add that PCs name to the Server box in the config that I am sharing from. Is there not anything else I need to do to enable access to that on the PC that is actually serving tv.

I've recently re-built my HTPC. Earlier this year, I moved from the UK to New Zealand and my previous machine wasn't up to the specs to decode freeview TV here in NZ!

My new machine is:

I've spent a few weeks trying to get things running - looking over the forums to solve problems. I was slowly ironing out the problems...

Up until last week, my recordings were running pretty well. I could schedule recordings and they would be recorded no problems. I have found that I get a much smoother picture if I watch them via Media Player or Powercinema, but I still need to work through that..

In the last week, I've had quite a repeatable problem, and don't think that I've changed anything which would have created it.

I asked the PC to record a show on TV2, and saw that it was recording. When I went to play the show back, it had actually recorded TV1. I figured it maybe was a one-off glitch, so restarted the computer and let it record something on TV2 the following night - same problem!

The strange thing is, if I go to the guide, and select 'watch' on a show on TV2, it plays TV2 - no problems. As soon as I ask it to 'record' something on TV2, it records TV1!?

If I ask it to record TV1 or TV3 that works fine.

Any ideas - has anyone seen this before?!

too much of a bastard to do? figured now gbpvr.exe is gone, changing it either to gbpvr.exe or perhaps gbpvr2.exe might stop some confusion for newbies?

using v1.2.9. I'm normally just watching the files by double-click but i'm trying to use an MVP and i see many of the old recordings that i manually deleted are still there (marked with failed). they look the same on the windows interface. i have these tags enabled:
