First post so please go easy on me. I have searced for an answer to this but no joy so far.
When I watch live TV and change to a channel that requires a change of LNB (through my 2 way switch) it takes about 20 secondes and then shows a black screen with the strength meter at 0 and asking me to check my cables etc. If I then change to another channel on the same lnb it works ok then if I switch back the the 1st it now works ok. I never get the problem when recording, only live TV.
I was suspicious of my cards (HVR-3000) ability to swap between LBM's and polarities but using Wintv or Progdvb I don't get the problem. Any thoughts?

Add me to list of folks that get as far as scanning for channels and not finding any.

I am trying to use a Pinnacle HD Pro Stick (800e) USB tuner to receive ATSC. I found an entry for the 800e in the list of Digital Recording Plugins that matches the BDA filters for the device (see the FilterCheck log). I'm using YAPIXML to feed the XMLTV Plugin. The data gets imported successfully and I move on to Map Digital Channels to EPG Channels. The first time through, the scan found no channels and I saw no channels previewed. So, I run Re-registerfilters and it finishes with no errors. I try the scan again and get the same results. I'd appreciate it if someone could take a look at the logs and see if they spot something I missed.

P.S. When I use the application software that came with the 800e, I get signals that average in the 80's for strength and the 70's for quality.

I've been working on this for a few hours now but can't get it to work.

Here is what I'm working with:

GBPVR 1.2.13 - clean install
Community skin
Hauppauge 1600 model 1199 PCI
780G graphics 5000+ BE processor 2G ram
yapi2xml EGP (seems to be working...)
I should be getting channels 1-75 or so basic SD cable, and the networks in HD clear QAM (my panasonic TV tunes them in just fine).
I have "rabbit ears" hooked up to the ATSC input on the 1600 right now just for fun.

I can't get QAM to work in WintTV or GBPVR. regular cable works (well, untill I started trying to get the QAM to work) , and ATSC was working earlier in WinTV until I switched it to "cable" to try and get QAM.

My questions are below. Please someone help!

1) What do I want to select for recording service? I'm guessing "digital recording plugin"?

2) After picking "digital recording plugin", and selecting "settings", I check "only show devices detected in this machine" and choose HVR-1600 (QAM). But the grayed out "type" box still says "ATSC", is this normal? Shouldn't it say QAM?

3) If I then click on "update EGP", and then "map digital channels to EPG guide" GBPVR does a scan, but finds nothing - not even the anolog channels.

4) I have all my channels listed under the channels tab in config, but pvrx2 does nothing when I select "live tv". The guide seems to be working but when I select an alolog chanel to watch i just get a black screen. When I select a digital channel i get a black screen for about a second and then it returns to the guide.

I've given a lot of detail here in hopes that someone can help me. I'm running out of ideas, someone please help!

Oh, and what are those two unlabled buttons below the "remove" button on the "capture sources" tab in config?

I just bought a DVB-C card (tt dvb-c 1501). With the card I can recieve the same channels as with the analog card pvr-350 that I allready use - plus a few more. Since the qualtiy with the dvb-c card is better then analog I like to use it as the primery record source and from time to time I like to use the analog card to record two programms at the same time. This brings me to the following questions:

1. EPG - At the moment I use xmltv for the epg and it works fine. But the dvb-c brings more infos on the programm. Therefore I like to use it for epg source. The Information should also be avalibale for the analog card. How can I managed this?

2. Since I like to record primary on the dvb-c card how do I have to setup the Programms. Example BBC, should I some how Name it difrently BBC-Digital and BBC-Analog for example? If not and I call both the same how do I ensure, that it records from the digital card?

I'm trying to get GBPVR to detect and use my tv tuner card (Leadtek Winfast PxPVR2200). I've tried to use graphedit and then edit the direct.ini file with no luck.

I'm trying to grab input from my set-top box using the s-video port. The error i'm getting is the following error in the pvrx2.exe.log when i click on the live tv menu option:
System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

I have done full search and reading in older posts + Wiki, but the posts are for a previous version. For example, there is no "direct recording" option in the latest version; it only show analog and analog hi-def as option in capture source, etc. Also, when in the program, when I click on the Live TV option, it just takes me back to main menu. Plus, in Recordings page, when I click on Manual Rec option, it takes me back to main meu. Is it because I don't have my camcorder connected to the computer yet?

gbPVR keeps coming up as THE software package to use to exploit the full potential of ATI 550 PRO's hardware based encoding. I downloaded and installed the latest version of gbPVR to capture analog video from my Hi8 and VHS collection (I intend to use the S-Video connector on ATI input-block), but I could not figure our how to record video in gbPVR. Everything is geared with TV watching in mind. There was no magic "record" or "capture" button, so to speak. Can someone please help?

Miscellaneous questions I can't find answers to:

I'm having trouble getting .iso files to play. I've got Daemon and have specified the path to the exe. Is the drive letter that is specified in config supposed to be any unused letter available for daemon, or is it supposed to be the letter that daemon usually mounts on? I don't have any trouble mounting or playing these files outside of GBPVR, but I must be doing something wrong.

Second: does the "quality" setting you can choose when selecting a program to record have any effect when recording from a QAM source? I would have expected the incoming video data to be merely written to the hard drive, not encoded or transcoded before being written.

Related to 2 above: is there a way to specify the default quality for analog (or QAM digital if it does have an effect)? If so, where is this setting found?

I noticed that GBPVR has another very similar program bundled with it: PVRX2. I haven't used PVRX2. Which is the better program?

This is a weird one - When I go to the 'Map Digital Channels' screen I can get video and audio in the preview. I set my channels, then go into either pvrx2.exe or EWA, start a recording, and it will won't work.
Well, I should say that it creates the file, but I'm unable to play it back with anything. PVRx2 just has a black screen, VLC doesn't even open a video window. Zoom throws an "unspecified error".

I get this same behavior with 2 different mdapi plugins, so I'm thinking (I could be wrong) it's not the plugins. I've tried multiple plugin versions, mdapifilter.ax versions, the latest being 2.1 that Heerfort posted. I also installed the gbpvr fix.

The logs don't really have obvious errors, but I'll post them anyway. I just have the sneaky suspicion that I'm overlooking something obvious here. Any thoughts?

In case you need it: Twinhan 1025, 1.2.3.8 Twinhan BDA Drivers, GBPVR 1.2.13, XP Pro SP2. Enable Multidec Support and Reuse MDAPI filter are both checked, using TX mux.

Could I please request that Windows screensavers be allowed to work whilst GBPVR is paused whilst watching a video?

The default GBPVR screensaver does kick in when not watching a video or in paused mode, however, the Windows one does not.
