Question,

Is it possible to do some form of streaming/live transcoding? Right now it I have it set up to do the shared file based "streaming". (IE loading the file from a network drive that is mapped to my home Media server). However, bandwidth is causing some issues, mainly stuttering, although I have been able to watch some recorded Divx videos (Recorded via Hauppauge 150, transcoded to Divx) using this setup but I would like to set something up using GBPVR that would either transcode the content to a lower bitrate / allow streaming.

I've looked into VCL, but I have to remote into the server, start the movie/show/recording/playlist and then on the client connect to the stream using VCL.. This isn't exactly the most user friendly way of doing this.

Any other suggestions?

I've just put gbpvr on a new machine and I seem to have a few issues.
The DVB-t plugin does not build a graph or play or show any shedule information.
I'll add a zip of logs. Lame 3.98 registered Also registered the MPA player you used.
In the graph folder there is only datagath.grf

Basically take out the PVR part of it and have a program that just plays mp3's videos, pictures and plugins. I use Snapstream to record my shows. Because gbpvr will not work with my setup. But I would love to be able to play my shows with GBPVR. So it would be cool to have a version that didin't load up all the things it needs to record a show and just loaded up a gui with the ability to play back my media with your cool menus and stuff. Possible at all?

On my old system, when I would standby the computer from the GBPVR System menu, the screen would stay on the confirmation popup, and I could power off the MVP. On my new system, when I confirm standby, after a few seconds, the MVP reboots MVPMC which sends the WOL, and rewakes the PC (if I don't power off quickly enough).

Is there a way to stop the MVPMC reboot after sending standby?

Just sat watching a recording and the screen went blank. Pressed the "any" key, nothing. Powered on/off - nothing. Tried composite cable, short "loading" screen (out of sync, but it always seems to be in PAL land for me) then blank screen.
Off with the lid - 12v present at disk connector. Bugger.
Try a number of times, sometimes "loading" followed by blank screen.
Copy recovery files to USB stick, power up, loading screen, blank screen, none of the mentioned screen colours and no indication of reading the stick. Bugger.
Have a feel of the big heatsink - not too hot (and never has been) but I now have a nasty burn on the end of my finger from touching the RealTek Ethernet chip. Bugger.

MVP rapidly dragged out of the cupboard. What an awful picture compared to the PCH. (I couldn't compare before as the TV was changed at the same time as the MVP > PCH)

I've just built my new PC and have been trying to view BBC HD via Freesat and my skydish.

I've been able to view BBC HD, but the pic seems to stutter a bit. I'm not sure if the frame rate is low, but you can see it stuttering most on panning shots.
Surley my pc is powerful enough. Maybe I'm missing some setting or driver.

ANy advice???

I have an xp box (listed in sig) that was working FLAWLESSLY for sleep/wake up until I upgraded from .9 to .13 pvrx2. After that, it would work about 40% of the time. When it wakes, in .13 I get the desktop for 5 secs or so and it MAY decide to restart pvrx2. Most of the time, I just stay dumped into the desktop. Actually, it's ALL of the time now.

Anyone have any ideas or suggestions as to why this is happening now on .13 but NEVER happened on .9? Any corrective actions (please don't suggest the 15 or so different wake programs and procedures because I'll scream :p ) I mean, if there's an easy program or two that's ok - but what I've read in the past seems to indicate a real pain in the butt to get going.

I've ment to post this suggestion several times before, but a recent post in the Plugin/Skin support forum has spurred me on.

As always I make the suggestion completely ignorant to whats involved in actually doing it.

It would be good if skins could have a self contained error section. That is, graphics and formatting to display a page if and when GB detects a unrecoverable skinning error. It could display the background and a simple message explaining that GB had experienced an error in it's skinning environment and to check for skin and/or plugin compatibility. It would be great if there was also an exit and restart app button. Sometimes skinning errors can cause GB to crash requiring a forced shutdown, I think this would be a much softer landing.

I still have a few ocassional frame drops and issues with my setup (DVB-t), I now suspect that my ariel system is a bit intolerant of interference fridges switching on neighbour mowing the lawn etc....but the glitches are so short that I would never catch them with the old signal/strength meter so I will never be certain.

Is there a way to generate a log file of the signal strength and quality at a high frequency, perhaps just a rolling 10 or 20 seconds would do so when you see a glitch you could alt tab out of pvrx2 to view the log?

I need to have my channel changer device profile re-learn it's number commands. What can I do to bring up the learning window again? Didn't want to have to make up a new device profile. Search didn't turn up anything. Thanks!
