I'm experiencing a couple of strange issues which I hope that someone can help with.
Firstly, everything works perfectly with the Windows client which is installed with the backend software on the same PC.
Primarily, I use an Nvidia Shield TV Pro for all of my media streaming, including the viewing of NPVR via the Emby app. When doing so, certain channels will only ever play the narrated audio track intended for the visually impaired. I have an option to change the audio track available to me from within Emby whilst watching, but changing this makes no difference. For testing purposes, I purchased the NPVR Android app and have tried viewing via that instead and the same audio track is played, albeit this time without any options to change it being present. This behaviour is also the same on my phone when using the NPVR app.
I also have one other small issue whereby Live TV stops at the end of programs I'm watching and kicks me back out to the guide. I can then click to resume the next highlighted program in the guide without issue but it's annoying to have to do so.
Please let me know if I can provide any more information but any help with these issues would be greatly appreciated.
Hi
please could someone help, I am having trouble in logging in to the settings to check my channels etc as at the moment the channels are duplicating and I am only able to log in to one tuner, the default log in account page says log in fail. Thanks
Thanks for this PVR. I was maintaining a PC with Win8.1 for the last few years just for WMC and using it with an X-box as a WMC extender. The X-box died last year so I set up a raspberry Pi with Kodi as a partial substitute for the xbox. When I eventually wanted access on a 3rd TV I discovered I could run NextPVR on a WIN10 PC and set up the next PVR client in Kodi. All is working great except...
First, my setup:
NextPVR 5.2.2.211017 on a Win10 PC
HD Homerun Prime with Cable Card - Frontier FIOS
I'm having consistent problem with one specific recording. It will play but the length of time displayed for the show is wrong and pressing skip forward or back has unexpected results (mostly returning to the beginning of the show). This happens with any NextPVR client I've tried and also with VLC (ver 3.06). With VLC, it will seem to play fine and skipping appears to work but it's not skipping to a predictable location. It's very strange. Almost like the time code is corrupted or the channel is using a different streaming format. It's a one hour show but displays 27 minutes (the file size is consistent with a one hour length).
I saw a similar issue posted in the NextPVR 4.0 section so I'm attempting the fix suggested there (renaming the npvr.db3 file, rescanning the channels on the HD Homerun, delete channels on the Settings->Channels screen, then scanning a device again to see what happens).
I'm not sure what's happening considering I had no problems with recording this show before switching to nextPVR last month (using WMC with the HD Homerun Priime). The show is only on once a week so I'll report back if the older suggested fix works.
I'm in a spot of bother...
NPVR failed to record Strictly Comes Dancing this evening. To rub salt into the deep wound, it recorded the F1 GP and Top Gear without problem...
Many kudos point lost..
I removed a bunch a duplicate re-occurring recordings that I had somehow managed to accumulate, removed and re-created the re-occurring schedule to record Strictly from next saturday 11 Dec onwards but it didn't appear in pending. A peak at the log shows that it thinks the upcoming recordings on 11th and 12th has already been deleted and hence no need to record it. This is incorrect as these are upcoming new live episodes.
I think the problem here that UniqueID "EP012802800594" is not really unique as the value is the same for todays episode as it is for next saturday.

I just installed NextPVR with a Schedules Direct trial account a few hours ago. The TV Guide appears to have 14 days in the dropdown, but the data listings disappear around 7:00pm on Monday Dec 13th (just a black background) and then on the 14th has boxes of (no listings).
Should I be seeing EPG data for all the days listed in the dropdown?
Does it download data in stages and just takes longer than 30 minutes to populate everything?
I've tried reading through the forums in search of help but I haven't come across anything to get me up and running yet. For starters, I have a windows 7 machine with Ceton Infiniti 4 PCIe which works great in WMC. I've been considering upgrading to Windows 10/11 for a long time but afraid I will never get my TV tuner to work after the upgrade. I have read a lot of great things about NextPVR combined with Kodi in Windows 10. I'm trying to test it in Windows 7 first before going through the headache of upgrading to Windows 10. I've read that Ceton cards can be a pain to work with but I have never had any issues with WMC which is part of my hesitation to upgrade.
I installed NextPVR v5.x and initially could not see my Ceton in the device list. I used the CetonProxy program which did allow me to view all 4 tuners as HDHomeRun devices and it accurately downloaded channel guide from Schedules Direct. I can see the TV guide come up but I am unable to watch live TV or record TV. When I try to watch live TV I get the error message "streaming failed (transcoder exited)". When I try to record something I get the error message "No errors, but no data delivered. This is usually because the device failed to lock a signal." I do have my Ceton device currently hooked up with WMC so I'm wondering if that is causing a conflict of some sort? I'm very new to NextPVR so I could be missing something else as well. I can try to update log files but I'm not sure which ones to upload. I appreciate any help or advice you can offer. Should I just stick with Windows 7 and Ceton forever since I love how the Ceton works and records 4 channels seemlessly and I love how WMC is setup? Should I trash the Ceton and get another device that is easier to work with in the future and if so what is the best device to record multiple channels?
I am trying to install V5 on a win7 machine. This has been one problem after another since win7 isnt supported anymore. my latest error is when the V5 installer tries to download the installation package, I get the error "the request was aborted: could not create SSL/TLS secure channel"
I have tried the google search fixes but I continue to get this error. Any Ideas??
