Hi, I don't know exactly how gbpvr works but I was referred to it by a friend to play my Gamecube games on my PC. I have a NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT video card including Media Center where I can watch my tv (I don't know if this information is important) and a composite and S-video 2 input in the front of the computer. I would just like to know the basic steps to play my games on my PC.
I'm still having weird problems with DVD playback using the Nvidia decoder which might be due to the newish ATI drivers. I tried a couple of other ones with varying success, the MPV decoder and Dscaler.
I installed the CyberLink Video SP/Decoder (ATI) and it shows up under mpeg decoder in playback but not for the mpeg decoder under the DVD tab. Any way to use this decoder, or do I need to find a different version?
How about a built in sleep timer that lets you either choose so shutdown, standby, hibernate, or exit back to main menu, since none of the current plugin ones are working...
Used to work in 1.2.9, now broken in 1.2.13. I have a show recording, go to Recordings->Pending, and the show that is recording says Pending and not Recording. I sometimes start watching shows before they are done recording, so have known this to work in the past. Because it doesn't say Recording, I don't get a Play button when I select the show. Slimm GB-PVR shows my Tuner Status as recording the show.
My mvp has blank video playback screen but the menus work just fine. i gave it windows firewall permissions for PVRX2.exe and since its not specifying UDP or TCP i assume its both.
the odd thing is that it doesnt try to transcode the file at all. the file has a mpg extension but it's really a mp4 avi compressed file (i was lazy and did not want to mess with the DB to rename transcoded/converted files). is there a way to force mpeg to be transcoded? no temp file gets created.
i also never had any of the original software installed on the PC, just gbpvr.
here's the log, it shows that its sending the data to the mvp but the mvp has no idea how to decode mp4v3...

Hi, I am looking for a way to turn an older pc into playing music and if possible movies by using a remote control.
The machine runs foobar/media player and VLC with media over my network well.
My pc doesn't support Direct3D but I got GBPVR running with both PVRX2 and GBPVR Video renderer on Overlay Manager or VMR7 in window mode.
The only problem is that I don't see any contents in the window; it just gives me the desktop color.
Is there a solution for this or is this just a limitation of my system?

ps: I too had a 1904 error on installing - as some other people here as well.
Would it not be more logical if .net2.0 and Visaul C++ were indicated as prerequisites including the link for downloading both files?
Hi,
I wonder if this is just a problem because of the lookup order I have chosen. When I load new movies in the MovieWizManager (1.0.15.3), it cannot download the plot information from ImDB. Everything else including artwork downloads flawlessly.
Is this normal - which web source should I choose to download plot information automatically?
Currently I manually cut and paste plot information into the plot field from websites like dvdempire.com
