I have follow the instructions in survival and was able to see the mount directory after telnet.htlm. I can see the list of ISO in the mount directory.

The next step is to view the ISO image, but I am not sure how to do this. I turn on the DVD plug in and can't see the DVD in the menu since this option is off for MVP function like PCH. I then add the DVD directory to Video Library where I can see the ISO image, but when I select PCH try to process something then it went back to main menu. Do I need DVD Deamon software for this to work?

What is the different between this and the direct share DVD folder to PCH? what is the advantage? I am able to view DVD from ISO image when I tried direct share DVD folder, but I am not able to fast forward.

I've tried searching for this, but I'm unable to find anything, so here goes:

When I'm watching live TV, there's no recording going on, meaning that I can't rewind.

However, if I press pause, I get a 2-second freeze, followed by a paused screen as expected. After this the program is recorded, and I can rewind, pause without freeze etc, but only from the moment I pressed pause.

I'm not sure when this changed, but I do remember the default functionality being that recording started whenever I changed channel.

My 7 year old all purpose PC (per sig) has been running GBPVR like a champ for almost 3 years, primarily to serve an MVP. However, it's starting to fail, and thanks to the high WAF of GBPVR, along with a stimulus check from Uncle Sam, I am looking to build a new dedicated GBPVR system. My head is spinning from all the choices/suggestions available, and I bow to the hardware gurus here for advice.

System will not be an HTPC next to the TV, it will basically be a server for MVP's and maybe PCH in the future, so it doesn't need to be silent, but cool and quiet would be nice. I can use the PVR500 and PVR150 out of the old box. I also have an HVR1600 which I would like to use for OTA ATSC (which I couldn't get to work in the old system). I'm not HD yet, but would like to allow for that in the future, maybe with PCH.

I think this is what I want to put in my Newegg shopping cart:

1. Case with PS - Functional and bargain more important than pretty.
   
   
2. MoBo - Good integrated graphics, 3 PCI slots for tuners. This is where I get lost. Too many choices.
   
   
3. CPU - Core2duo? AMD? best price point right now. Will be comskipping and potentially transcoding ATSC for the MVP.

I have an ATI PCIe combo tuner card. I have seen previous posts in this forum regarding the issue of Clear QAM not displaying. I also have this issue.

I have tried a number of things from installing and re-installing GB-PVR to updating the drivers on the ATI card (which is a pain since all drivers over 7.XX cause vista to crash when trying to uninstall the drivers so you need to rollback the system everytime). I have tried a number of the Vista drives as well as a few XP drivers and still no QAM.

I set up up the tuner cards in config with one being an Analog Recorder and the other a Digital. I try to map the digital channels to EPG and I see nothing during the scan and when complete the message displayed says no channels have been found.

I know my cable company supports QAM since I can get both the digital and analog tuners working in the Media Center that came with the tuner card.

I have Vista Sp1 but I still can not get the Clear QAM in Windows media center either I can only get the Analog channels. This goes the same for GB-PVR, I can get the analog channels but I can not get the Clear QAM

Can someone fill me in on the drivers I should be using for the 650 card or on any solution, I have put some hours in now and I am at a loss.

I'm a fairly new user of this product (it's great!) and recently decided I'd have a crack at using comskip for commercial detection. However, it seems that it's not operating correctly for one reason or another. Perhaps I'm missing something blindingly obvious, but I can't see what that is.

I have copied the three comskip files (exe/ini/directory) into the GBPVR directory.
I have not made any changes to any of those files.
I have comskip being called from PostProcessing.bat rather than directly, but I don't think that makes any difference. My Postprocessing.bat file is pretty much a copy of the example that comes with the comskip download.
I can see from the log file (postprocessing.log) that PostProcessing.bat does get called, and if I look in the directory where my recordings are kept, I can see that some new files get created by (presumably) comskip.exe after it is called from PostProcessing.bat. The files have the same name as the .ts file in the directory, but have different suffixes (.log and .txt)
However, the .txt file that gets created is 0 bytes long. Shouldn't it have something inside it?

Also, the .log file has this at the bottom of it...

Does this seem normal?
Is this what I should expect?
Shouldn't there be some other output file/s?
I've attached an example of the files that get created by comskip and placed into the directory alongside the .ts file

My XP SP3 has the latest updated drivers from Hauppauge and PowerCinema 5.1 patches to watch FreeviewHD DVB-T. Works fine but prefer the GBPVR interface.

When I try to install a fresh GBPVR 1.2.9, capture device config complains it can't see any devices. I've rebooted twice just to make sure nothing else is using the device. Logs enclosed.


What am I doing wrong here? With the latest drivers it's now listed in windows devices as HVR-900H (66xxx). Not sure if that makes a difference.

Hi there..... the one thing that I still grapple with (Auck NZ DVB-T) is the aac latm here. I'm using vista on a gigabyte mobo with on-board realtek. Usual setup including PDVD-V8 and monogram 0.9.5.0.

Live TV has sound quality that varies from fine to awful, at times breaking up, most times having little pops and dropouts. This is the only application that I run that causes this, replaying recorded TV is perfect, music, blu-ray, dvd etc all sound fine.
Be interested in how many others have this issue, and whether there is any commonality around those that do?

I'm waiting on an external DAC (Citypulse 2.03E) which I hope will make a real difference, in the meantime, GBPVr is officially the new entertainment centre of our family's universe, despite the annoying sound issues with live DVB-T.
I know sub you have been looking at other decoder options, is there anything in the pipe at this stage that looks good?\

Of others that have similar issue, are you using a realtek audio chip? I'm pretty sure eveyone's not in the same boat. Alternatively, anyone using an external DAC similar to the citypulse, another I looked at was the perreaux usb dac.

I just installed the latest gbpvr when i go to run pvrx2 it just loads a blank box really it just loads the borders and nothing else.

Is there anyway to access the GBPVR user interface via http (including program guide) to set recordings and launch livetv so that I can control GBPVR from a PS3 (via the web browser) and then connect to the native MPEG2 livetv stream from the PS3 via DLNA server (such as Tversity or Twonky)? I already access recorded content, music, video etc via DLNA server but livetv and program guide access are the missing link. Web admin can sort of do this but not the most simiple to navigate via a game console web browser and it launches VLC to transcode rather than allowing access to the native MPEG2 livetv stream off the capture cards.

Perhaps a way to make the MediaMVP GBPVR server / user interface available generally via http in order to set recordings and launch a livetv stream which could then be picked up by a DLNA server?
