Perhaps dos2unix could be compiled and added into the scripts to connvert the startup scripts so people who don't use linux will have an easier time editing the files. I see that mvpmc for the mvp uses this.

If I run my Nova S with Win TV or FireDTV with the viewer I pick up channel More4. It plays with both these programs. It is found in a scan with GBPVR with these settings:

T:10729,V,22000,56~NID:32~ONID:2~TSID:2042~P:8340~V:2361~A:2362~L:eng~PMT:268~TXT:2364~PCR:2311~N:>More4

which would correspond to the entry from Win TV (manually entered as won't cut and paste):

More4 10729 22000 Linear vertical 2:2042:8340

However even though found in a GBPVR Scan it won't play in the preview window and if checked as channel to play it just ain't playing ball. Any advice?

after getting the internet radio function to work on the V1.2.9 I've got another problem... Hopefully the last one because I really like GB-PVR.
I googled and searched the forum,
but unfortionally I didn't found any similar problems.

Some of my Divx Movies are unable to play.
When I check the log files, "PVRX2.exe-native.log" returns:

Error code : 80004005
E_FAIL
An undetermined error occurred
I've tried selecting another video decoder, but nothing seems to work.

any ideas?

It appears that for DVB EPG it tunes to the transponder that the channel is on to get the guide listings. Is there a way to configure it to go to a single specific transponder to get the guide? I ask because the transponder that the channel is on only has the current plus next event. The two day listings are all on a single transponder.

Ok, I'm real new at this, so gentle please...

I had problems with the standsrd Pinnacle software not finding all channels, so I was directed to GB-PVR.

However, I can't get it to find any channels, or populate the EPG.

I've searched everything I can think of typing in to the search engine; re-installed the MS Runtime stuff; re loaded the filters... and nothing.

What am I doing wrong???

Hi, I've been a fan and loyal user of GBPVR for about three years now, using a spare computer I had lying around. I have just purchased a new HDTV, and am thinking about options to upgrade my GBPVR system to record and watch OTA HDTV programs.

My budget is definitely tight, so I'm seeking advice on how I should go about upgrading; is my current system too old to be worth upgrading? What components would I need to bring my system up to speed?

My current setup:
Intel Celeron 2.6GHz (Northwood)
784MB DDR1 SDRAM
320GB HDD
PCI Slot 1: Radeon VE (Radeon 7000)
PCI Slot 2: Hauppauge PVR-350
No PCI-e, AGP, or other free PCI slots
Built from an Asus barebones Pundit AB-P2600.

I'm running GBPVR ver. 0.99.12, and have yet to upgrade to a newer version because 1) I've had no problems with this version, and 2) I'm using the PVR-350 TV-out, and since it's not officially supported, I didn't want to mess up a perfectly good PVR. I use the PVR-350 TV-out because it gives a better picture than I can get using software encoding and my Radeon.

Since I only have 2 PCI slots and no other slots in my system, I'm thinking of doing the following:
- Purchase an HVR-1600, to provide one digital and one analog tuner. This will go into the PCI slot currently occupied by the PVR-350.
- Purchase a new video card that can output to my TV in HD, to replace my old Radeon VE in PCI slot 2.

Now for the questions...
1) How much video card do I need? On the low end, I was looking at a 128MB GeForce FX5200 card (~$30), and on the high end I was looking at a Powercolor 24Pro256M (Radeon HD2400PRO) card, which goes for about $70. I don't play games on this computer; I just watch TV via GBPVR and online streaming.
2) Assuming a get a decent card, are the other components of this old computer up to snuff? Is a 2.6GHz Celeron (Northwood NetBurst architecture) and 784MB enough?
3) One reason I like the Powercolor card is that it is HDCP-ready, so that if I did ever want to buy a Blu-Ray drive, I could. Would my system be able to handle Blu-Ray? And do they even make IDE Blu-Ray drives (I have no free PCI slots to add a SATA controller)?

i've been trying to shift recordings I want to keep off my hard drive by using BurnDVDX2. I've gone through 3 blank dvds so far as it keeps erroring out. I've tried imgburn and nero but without success - here's an extract from the last failed attempt with nero:

I have lots of tv channels and scrolling down using the MVP is a pain. Is it possible to group the channels into "bouquets" ie sports, films, news etc?

I am confused about what settings to adjust in order to acheive the best possible picture and avoid the overscan problem I have (which only appears in plugins, not in the PVRX2 main menu)

TV: Samsung LCD32" 1360x768

PCH: Set to 720p mode using the PCH command, connected to TV with HDMI

MVP Settings:

I have seen that in the upcoming PCH firmware they are adding support for 1360x768. How will that affect my settings.
