I recently reinstalled GP-PVR. There are two capture devices in the system a Hauppauge 350 and an HDhomeRun. The installation of both Capture devices seemed to go fine . However when changing channels between capture devices it loses video. Example; if I am watching Fox news on analogue and I switch to a Digital channel all is well. However when I switch back to an analogue channel there is no video. I have the SD set up with a STB using MCE remote and blaster on svideo connection. Also when switching back you will see the blaster send the digits and the STB respond but in the video you will not get the typical banner that you see during all SD channel changes.
I have spent a fare amount of time trying to diagnose and fix the problem with no luck. I have read other similar but not the same problem and as a result tried a different MUX other than the Microsoft MS-DVR one. When using the Cyberlink mux all seems to work ok expcet I get no sound on digital channels (using AC3Fileter on Digital). If I switch back to the Microsoft DVR-MS mux the problem comes back.

Could someone please remind me what the keystroke is to bring up the strength & quality horizontal bar graph during live tv, and have it persist until it is dismissed? I need to fine tune my antenna pointing. I know there is a display timeout value in config, but in this case I want it to stay put. Thanks!
I am going to try out alternate front ends, but am currently a VMC user. I have shows recorded in VMC, etc etc etc.
I have the Arcsoft TMT installed, which plugs directly into VMC, which is nice. BR and HD-DVD load automatically from within VMC, so it is very wife friendly. I use the MS remote to control all.
So, I am seeking a way to setup gbpvr, make it work with my currently recorded shows, my ripped dvds (not ISO, but the two folder style), my AverMedia MCE250 analog tuner, my Arcsoft TMT HDM player, and my HD Home Run digital tuner. Oh, and a channel guide as well.
Any possibility of an easy to follow walkthrough guide of what I need to install, what plug ins are needed, etc?
I understand Freesat was launched today transmitting signals on Astra 2D and an EPG on Eurobird 1.
When I scan Astra 2A, 2B , 2D my capture device only lists what I think are BSKYB channels. From reading the forum I think other people have managed to receive Freesat OK. Could anyone help? I'm new to gbpvr.
Does anyone know how GBPVR (latest version) decides what codec to use for DVB-S channels? Does it use the info in the stream that states what it is or does it work it out itself based on what the stream actually is? I ask as in the UK there's a new test HD channel (ITV HD) that I cant configure to work with GBPVR. According to the digitalspy guys the video stream is flagged as H.222 when it's actually H.264. With software that allows you to specify the codec it works, but I get nothing with GBPVR. It's possible I've screwed up some of the other settings in the cache file but I want to rule out the codec choice before I waste too much time trying.
I've set -m pal for mvpmcx2 and that should correspond to a width and height of 720x576, right? So I put those settings in config.xml.
But on the PCH I get a too large picture that sort of overscans. I miss a little on the outer edges. So what is a correct width and height setting for the "-m pal" flag?
Really what is the correspondance between width/height in mvpmcx2 and in config.xml? The survival guide says they should "match" but obviously there is more to it?
Is there a way to limit the number of buttons displayed in a plugin's menu? If not, is there a way to refresh the call to getButtonList()? I've got too many menu buttons and they get rendered off the screen. I think I have a method of resolving this but I wanted to make sure I wasn't overcomplicating it.
The GBPVR GUI seems to refresh out of sync with the PCH signal.
I have the PCH connected via the component cables.
I have the PCH configured for 720P 60Hz and everything is crisp and clear in the PCH menus. I load GBPVR with -m 720 -o component
the background seems to shimmer in certain places. is this because maybe PVRX2 is sending the menus at 50Hz?
I am using the default blue skin.
I know that SP3 is unsupported, but has anyone made this work?
I get Error 1904 Module . . . GBPVRWriter.ax failed to register. I tried as local admin, that doesn't help. Tried ignoring my way through the errors. I get the same error for a bunch of files.
