I had problems with my machine freezing when I used the NewCS cardserver, so now I've changed to ACamd (v0.5.0.9), and everything is very stable now!
I have one problem though... The setup only works in live tv. I can watch encrypted channels, but I can only record unencrypted channels.
I've tried this:
- Restarted recording service and started GB-PVR
- Starts live tv on an unencryped channel (DR1), swiched to an encrypted one (Motors), can't decode, stops live tv
- Starts live tv again, this time on the encrypted channel, it decodes and works fine
- Selects record, gets a black screen, presses 'stop' to return to main menu
- Goes to recordings and stops the recording
(Config only set to: "Enable Multidec plugin support")

If I choose MS-DVR or Cyberlink mux'es I get 0 byte files, with the TS mux I get these files, and I get working video files when I record from an unencrypted channel.
It's almost like the MultiDec plugings doesn't have any effect on the recordings I'm making?
Looking at the ATI650 or the Fusion7 for unencrypted QAM capture in PVRX2 (latest version). Just looking for opinions on what one would be better. Thanks!
I have recently downloaded GBPVR after reading an article in one of the PC mags, I have the same card they are using in the mag, a Hauppage WinTV-PVR 150, I have followed the instructions on setup and GBPVR doesnt seem to want to see my card, I have uninstalled the software, both GBPVR and for the tuner card and even uninstalled the software, removed my card and started again. When I click in the config, capture sources, edit, recording source settings then click only show devices detected on this machine it says "no known cards detected in this machine", does anyone know what iv done wrong or what I haven't done that needs to be done???
Yesterday I had several listings disappear from my lineup - the channels were there, but showed "No Show Details" for over half of them.
I worked the issue with Schedule Direct (sub helped me find the problem w/ the xml file), and the information I received back was that Comcast in my area is changing it's lineups on 4/12 (sure enough, I got the memo today) and Tribune Media Services (provides data to SD), has a known bug where it only includes channels in your lineup that have listing data through the end date requested. Since I have GBPVR request 12 days, that puts me past the date when the lineups are shifted.
The workaround is to only request up to the date the change goes into effect & then fix it when the change happens (you'll have to mess with things then anyway).
Long story short, if your listings disappear suddenly and you've made no changes to your setup, check with your provider & see if a lineup change is coming up soon.
1. Video 'sampling' to find program/vs commercial probabilities then scan to find begins & ends.
2. For movie channels (AMC, TCM, HBO, etc.) the parts to cut occur only at the beginning and end...are there options for this?
I note in the .ini file there is an option to skip frame(s), but default is off.
There are some features of commercials that might make quick scanning possible.
On a show with large frameborders it would be simplest, but maybe other types of programs also.
Suggested process -
1. scan from beginning of video until reasonable sure of 'program' and not intro or commercial
2. gather a sample of 1/2 seconds of video at each 5 second interval from the rest of the mpeg
3. perform same type of analysis as now for each sample (ate as show or commercial)
4. once this is done you could scan forward from each pre-commercial show or pre-show commercial block to find
the joining point (low noise, black frame, etc.)
For added speed I suppose a thread could be setup to use the to seek in the file to each of the
5 sec offsets and read the 1/2 second while the main thread could be using the mpeg library for the analysis.
I don't know what functions the library has, perhaps it has seek operations already, but with variable length
frames due to compression...after seeking scanning the mpg to find the beginning of GOPs would be necessary.

Previously (pre X2) had SearchWiz installed and working - spectacular - thanks for a great plugin.
Am running latest versions of GB=PVR, SkinPlugin, Community3
Have just tried to install v .13 (after Commun3 skin.xml fix)
SeachWiz did not show up in Config listing of plugins
So far I have done the following
* deleted old helper dlls (previouos HtmlAhgilityPack was not being overwritten)
* deleted ALL SeachWiz folders/files and re-installed
Still not appearing on Config plugins list

Any help / ideas/ newbie abuse you might be able to provide will be welcomed.
I'm going PSP crazy again, so here's what I need to know. Does the recordings library recognize .mp4 files? I know you added .avi when we started the whole transcoding thing, but it seemed like a hardcoded thing.
The reason is because I want to start transcoding all my recordings to PSP format for easy transfer to the PSP. I could try it myself, but I'm at work and I don't get much chance to play with the HTPC these days.
Anyone having a problem w/ the audio in Quicktime *.mov trailers? I have the video woring fine, and the audio working in the QT plaer, but it won't play through GB.
