I searched for it but could not find anything. I know that searchwiz has a filter but you can't start a search by Genere. I think way back when there was also guide2J.
I have 2 bits of knackered kit preventing me from fully enjoying my kit.
- The IR receiver for the remote control supplied with my Hauppauge HVR3000 got knackered in transit (receiver dtached from cable!)
- The wired remote on my Cambridge DT2200 is somewhat tempremantal and will only give any volume of the acable is twisted in a certain configuration, and only from the front speakers at that.
I wonder if therfe's any kind soul out there with either (or, indeed, both) components that they no longer use and are willing to part with for a reasonable price?
I couldn't find anything about this in the archive so here goes;
Is there any way that I can specify an order of preference for the capture cards?
For example, I have access to NBC via 3 of my capture sources (OTA ATSC, Analog cable and Digital cable). In the event that nothing is going on at the time how can I dictate which source is chosen to record a scheduled show?
I'm assuming that if 2 things are scheduled for the same time then the recording jobs are issued to the card that services the required TV station?
What I'd like to do is to ensure that a digital source is chosen where possible and better yet that an HD source is chosen where possible.
For example, Many Fox HD outlets are also carrying the MyTV network (My9 here in NYC area) in SD and vice versa on the MyTV outlet. If one cannot receive one RF channel but the other is available then you are covered with both services.
Am I making myself clear? I'm getting a little confused myself.
I did a bit of searching, and couldnt find much. I am running a 2 monitor setup in dual view mode. I just bought a 28" view sonic for movies and games ect. My other monitor is just a dell 17".
So my delema is that i'd like to watch TV while playing my mmo's on the large screen. My digital cable box plugs right into the big monitor. So i was trying to use my capture card to view tv on the little monitor while i game.
The problem, atleast i think, is that my machine cant do both. I was kinda hoping you guys could provide some insight on a streamlined gbpvr. I've messed with the setting a bunch, but dont seem to be getting anywhere. So I can load up windows media player and watch movies and all that just fine. But if i load up live TV on gbpvr my FPS takes a huge dump.
I'm running an intel 3.2 gig /w HT. 2 gigs of ddr2 400. And an nvidia geforce 8800 ddr2 320meg card.
So i'm guessing my machine just cant do both, but I was hoping wtih a little tweaking it could be possible.
Can any of the developers tell me is there a way I can set a recording in GBPVR through a command prompt or text file or similar.
I'm working on setting GBPVR by SMS. I have thus far got an SMS to Email gateway working:
1. I send an SMS with: BBC1,21-01-08,2000,2100
2. My mail application checks for new mail every five minutes
3. On receipt of a new mail it scans out the channel, date, start and stop time.
I now need to get these into GBPVR to do the recording.
In XRecord, if I display programs that are READY and click on a displayed result, such as programs recorded "Last Week", the resulting list of programs shows two lines per program.
The first line displays the title of the program or movie and that it is "Available". The second line shows the recorded date and time but if the program has an Episode Title in the EPG then that is also displayed on the second line and overwrites the date and time information so that both appear and neither is legible.
GB-PVR Features pages states
"Plugin support for a wide variety of other hardware, from remotes to LCD readouts to different types of recording devices."
How can I find what other hardware is supported?
Specifically I'm looking for IR remote receiver, similar to USB-UIRT, could be serial, with or without a remote control, not combined with video capture cards.
Having some strange behavior in client mode when playing back recorded content that maybe you can shed some light on...
When setup as file-sharing, on the client, I can view HD content from the server just fine, but SD is very jerky, audio out-of-sync, sometimes the video just freezes, and the audio continues...
When setup as streaming, SD plays perfectly, but HD is jerky, but not as bad as SD in the file-sharing mode (still not acceptable for viewing though).
I have tried just about every combination of PreferredMpegPlaybackDemux, have tweaked the ClientModeCachedReadSize setting and just about every thing else I can think of.
Any reason why in file-sharing HD is good, SD is bad, and in streaming HD is bad, but SD is good?
Would there be any way to specify playing HD content as file-share, but SD as streaming?
