  No TV Out with v1.1.5?
Posted by: Millennium Herd - 2008-01-05, 05:20 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi

I am using version 0.99.12, with no problems - if I upgrade beyond this version, I lose the 'TV Out' capability.

My graphics card is a Sapphire Radeon X1600 (256mb). I seem to need the VMR 7 setting to allow me to view video on the PC and on the television via TV out.

Is there a 'workaround' which would allow me to upgrade to a newer GBPVR version whilst still maintaining my display capabilities please?

Thanks

Millennium Herd

Germany mixed analog & DVB EPG dilemma
Posted by: daneo - 2008-01-05, 04:51 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Okay, so I've now got my Hauppauge HVR-1300 card working, and doing some manual recordings on 1 or 2 channels I don't get over DVB-T. I've only configured the analog bit of the tuner so far, and most likely will NOT use the DVB tuner as I've already got two of 'em Big Grin

My biggest problem is to next setup the channels (Germany UnityMedia cable) and try to get an EPG for some of them.

As I already get EPG data for about 20 of the 35 channels over DVB-T, is there any way I can setup the analog portion of the card to use this data? I need a way to overlap the channel IDs in the database so that I can say that channel x (say RTL) is available on either of my DVB-T tuners, or on the analog Hauppauge.

For the rest of the channels, I will need to get data from an external source. I've got NextView working from the German Kabel 1 feed, and get coverage for most of the rest. I assume I will need to somehow "merge" this data into the database so that I get EPG coverage for the rest of the channels. I assume I can automate NextView harvesting through command line, let it run for an hour or so at night, and then import in the morning into GBPVR somehow.

My question is thus -- can I configure GBPVR so that some of the channels on the tuner share the DVB EPG pool, and other channels are fed from XMLTV?

I have also sent a request to tvtv to see if they offer an EPG download service that I would have to subscribe to -- not much hope here, but it's worth a try.

  Music Library
Posted by: NumberFive - 2008-01-05, 03:13 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hello,

I'm sure this bug has been reported before, but the "Play All" option in Music Library only plays the first track in a folder.

Would it be possible to add:

- Running Time -versus- Total Track Time (perhaps a progress bar)
- "Queue-It-Up" (I'd imagine a button called "Queue-It-Up" and another page showing the Queue, and the ability to add folders to the queue)
- Repeat mode

I tried to install music library 2, but it looks very complicated and has the honour of the only programme to have ever crashed by GBPVR system. Couldn't get it to work, and I think I prefer the idea of using folders anyway.

  EPG not updating
Posted by: Caseyjones - 2008-01-05, 02:07 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

I noticed yesterday that my EPG (which is downloaded from the DVB) only went to Monday Night.

I rescanned (on tuner 1 & 4) this afternoon and went to update EPG and it doesn't seem to show any scanning steps.
It goes straight from starting, to saving with no scanng in between.

I'm running from the Sutton Coldfield transmitter.

Anyone have the same problems or suggest a solution.

I get this in the log?

  PVRX2 and remote/keymappings
Posted by: meekochan - 2008-01-05, 12:10 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

Hi,

I have this remote that came with the computer, and not an MCE remote but works almost like one. I think it's a cyberlink remote, though it's called something else. Anyways, I've selected Default under DVD/Remote, installed EventGhost and used that xml file for the MCE remote but changed the buttons to correspond with my remote. So, when I used my remote to open pvrx2, I thought I was good to go,

But, it didn't work. After some playing around I found out that my remote doesn't work because the keyboard shortcuts doesn't work for pvrx2 either. Well, it works on some shortcuts but not all. Like Ctrl P doesn't play a song or a video. Ctrl S works to stop it, but not Ctrl X to increase volume.

Am I missing something? When I use EventGhost and keyboard shortcuts in Gb-pvr, it works just fine, but not with pvrx2.

Could someone help me?

Thank you!

  Play List-Play All
Posted by: mugs - 2008-01-05, 12:03 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (2)

In reading through the forum it seems there are a number of people who can not get the play all to work through MVP. I too have this issue. I seem to have the same issue with playlists (m3u). In both cases the first song will play and then nothing else. I just wondered if anyone had been able to overcome this issue. If there is an answer that i havnt found i would certainly appreciate some help with this. I am using MVPMC and the date of the dongle is 2007-12-28. I am also trying slimserver with MVPMC for my music but it seems config has me a bit confused (like thats hard to do). But that is for another forum if i can find one for it. Thanks in advance for all the help.

  Suggestion for USB DVB-T tuner.
Posted by: HomerDK - 2008-01-05, 11:33 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (1)

Hi.

Im looking for one of those USB DVB-T tuners to watch free DVB-T channels.
Is the "Hauppauge WinTV-NOVA-T-STICK DVB-T tuner" good enough and ofcourse, will it work in GB-PVR?

The "noname" incorporated in my laptop makes a good job also when recording, but it doesn't work in GB-PVR.

Any suggestions are welcome and it must work fine in GB-PVR.

Thanks.

Edit: forgot, whats the difference between the Hauppauge WinTV-NOVA-T-STICK DVB-T tuner and the "lite" one of same??

Upgrading a bit, able to make HTPC! Need some Insight
Posted by: bassboi - 2008-01-05, 09:35 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (2)

Hey guys, going to try and get back in the swing of things with computers by upgrading a few systems in this dark area...

First off,

I have a P4 3.4GHz 4MB L2, 800MHz FSB CPU just lying around...

I plan on buying a motherboard for it sometime soon, as well as the RAM, CPU cooler, and I have things such as the case, psu, HDD, etc.

This is what I've been demanded by the market to buy due to it being s478
Biostar P4M900
http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/Produc...tCode=10005932

$60ish

But we also gotta have more guts to this frankenstien, before it comes alive...!!!

Transcend 1GB DDR2 800 SDRAM
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820208321

MASSCOOL 70mm Ball CPU Cooler
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835100302

Stars Silver Thermal Grease
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835100302

$40.81

A little over 100 bucks to put together a decent machine for me to currently use at the moment.

Later on, it'll be my HTPC, with a 3.0 P4 800FSB instead, and overclocked

I also have goodies for this project in the making... although these will come in time!

XFX GeForce 8500GT 256MB 128-bit GDDR2 PCI Express x16
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814150244
I'd get this first, for sure... as light computer work I do, this would be fantastic

PCI-Express Gigabit Low Profile Network Card
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16833166015
Second...

Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-1600 / ATSC/ClearQAM/NTSC TV Tuner
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16815116007
Then the champ!

You guys think it'd be a decent HTPC to playback 1080p as well as any other aspects on a 32" 1080p LCD TV?

Thanks for any help guys, it's greatly appreciated.

-bassboi!
