What is the best K-Lite configuration
Posted by: Sam - 2008-01-04, 12:15 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (14)

With the number of codecs out there these these days, I feel like I'm shooting in the dark when installing these packages. Does someone have practical suggestions or tips as to the best install options of K-Lite mega pack or a more suitable codec package for use with GBPVR? Mainly I get confused if I should enable ffdshow or one of the custom filters. e.g. hali, gabest etc... Also I would be interesting to know what order do people install their codecs? before or after their video drivers and apps and GBPVR?

  Danger: Thinking out loud
Posted by: idkpmiller - 2008-01-04, 10:33 AM - Forum: Developers - Replies (5)

Hey guys,

Is there any reason why I can't or shouldn't put the main menubottons in a popup?

I would like to save real estate and having the menubuttons in a popup would certainly do that.
The only thing is it breaks the look and feel of GBPVR, although I think for a plugin like GameZone the enhancement would offset this issue.

I'd appreciate any feedback... (Sub, any thoughts?)

Cheers

  Skinner required
Posted by: idkpmiller - 2008-01-04, 09:33 AM - Forum: Developers - Replies (4)

I am working on GameZone v2 and the skin stuff is driving me crazy, I would like someone to sort out the width of the listbox to fill the screen whilst keeping the font the same not stretching it.

I just realised if I just attached my skin.xml file I suspect skinners can see the effect without having the application (bit like the matrix Big Grin )

Cheers

  Weather plugin and celsius degrees

Is there any way I can configure the Weather plugin to show data with celsius degrees instead of fahrenheit?

  Aspect Ratio Question
Posted by: bobsmith - 2008-01-04, 09:00 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I'm using a standard TV with 4:3 aspect ratio. Is there any way expand wide-screen videos to fill the screen (or fill more of the screen)? We watched a recorded video tonight that that filled only about a third of the screen. The video was stretched out of proportion. Are there any settings in GBPVR for that?

2 highlighting bugs: TV Guide and Conflicts
Posted by: Wakalaka - 2008-01-04, 08:49 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

Conflict highlight bug: select Recordings, select Conflicts, and there is a conflict, you then select the show. Once you resolve all conflicts, it says "good news no conflicts" yet nothing is highlighted. If you cursor up or down, the button above/below Conflicts button is highlighted. This implies that once you resolve all conflicts, the Conflicts button needs to be highlighted.

TV Guide highlight bug: select TV Guide, hit button to go 1 day forward, hit Back button to exit TV Guide. Hit TV Guide again, it goes to the 1 day forward mark you were previously at, then hit up or down and it will jump to the current day and time and should select the show above or below, but it doesn't highlight it.

XviD Files - Cannot Skip Forward or Back
Posted by: sundevil - 2008-01-04, 08:31 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

I've been using GB-PVR for well over a year. I'm a big fan. Great job sub!

Question... the skip forward, skip backward, and resume features do not seem to work when playing XviD files through an MVP. Is this a known limitation of the XviD file format?

Are there any file formats which provide the skip forward, skip backward, and resume features - and also preserve AC3 sound quality (5.1)?

Is there a format of choice?

Thanks!

Brent

  GBPVR Recordsing Service Shut down/Crash
Posted by: psycik - 2008-01-04, 08:16 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Occasionally, the recording service stops. I'm not too worried about fixing it, but would like to know about it/restart it.

I've tried playing with the recovery options, but they don't seem to have any effect. I think because it's gets a don't net error, it's doesn't shut down completely

Does any one have anything to keep track of the service, and make sure its up? or have some recovery settings that work? Mine are on First restart, second restart, 3rd restart computer.

New to gbpvr-unable to setup WinTV 1600 Card
Posted by: JBohanan - 2008-01-04, 07:16 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I have been trying to setup/Config my Hauppauge 1600 Video Card and
have not been able to have the gbpvr config program to be able to see
the card. Win I try to add the Capture Source the Config program exits
and stops running. I try to setup a recording source by clicking on the
setting button to the right of the Direct recording plunin. And the screen
to let you pick the Hauppauge 1600 analog Channels. But win I click on
the OK Button after picking and setting all the options on this screen the
Config program stop's running. And I have to restart the Config program
and there is not changes make to the setting for gbpvr.

Can someone show me how to setup up my wintv 1600 card.

I have been able to setup the wintv2000, and it picks up all my cable
channels and display them. But not able to setup Gbpvr.

Thank you
Jim

  PVRX2 Won't Start
Posted by: sonoma03 - 2008-01-04, 06:44 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

When I try to start PVRX2, I just see the outline of the window with the title bar and nothing else. It just stays like that for minutes, until I terminate the application. GBPVR seems to be working mostly okay although I'm having some playback problems. Can anyone give me some hints on what could be going on? I have attached the log files. Thanks!
