Hi everyone, I am new to gbpvr, however I just got my laptop set up with a WinTV-HVR 950 and all of my HDTV channels over the ATSC tuner come in great with the exception of two channels (NBC and WGN). With these two channels, my computer will only display the top left portion of the video.
I've tried the different Video and Audio decoders, and the different video renderers and haven't had any luck. When I use the WinTV2000 application, the channels play back perfectly.
I have attached a .zip file with all of the screenshots of my system
Any help would be appreciated. My system is a:
- Dell inspiron 700M, Pentium M 1.6GHz, 512MB RAM, Windows XP SP2, .NET 3
- Intel Extreme Graphics 2 video card
- Hauppauge WinTV-HVR 950 (I'm having a similar issue with a PlusTV HD Stick 330)
- GB-PVR v1.1.5
Strange issue I have here... I think something went corrupt somewhere in the codecs a few weeks back because WMP could not play Xvid files at that time. I fixed that by uninstalling and installing the codecs and that issue was resolved for the time being.
However, my issue now is that neither GBPVR or WMP 11 can access the MPEG-2 codecs which are installed on the system. I have the Nvidia PureMovie and the Intervideo WinDVD v8 app. WinDVD can play any of the .mpg files that are recorded thru GBPVR by itself, both new and some old ones that were recorded a year ago. So I know the .mpg files are fine. I can also play them from other PCs on the network.
The "Microsoft XP Video Decoder Utility" shows me both of these MPEG-2 codecs installed and I can alternate either as a default. But this does not seem to enable WMP to use the codecs.
In GBPVR I also tried the systm default or either of these codecs. But GBPVR gets a black screen and I have to restart it.
I saw in some forum that I should reinstall DirectX 9c but when I try to do that it says it's already installed. Running 'dxdiag' says that DirectX 9c is working fine.
If I go to Control Panel, System, Hardware tab, Device Manager, Sound and Video Game Controllers, Video Codecs, I do not see any MPEG-2 decoders there. I tried unisntalling and re-installing each Intervideo and Nvidia decoders to no avail.
The PC does feel like it's running slower than it should be since I don't have anything much on it other than GBPVR and some other media related stuff. That's all the PC does. It's a Dimension 3000 with 1GB of RAM and a P4 at 3Ghz with XP SP2.
I'm tempted to just reimage that thing but I don't want to spend my holidays with that work.
So any guidance into the the right direction would be appreciated. Thanks.
allows skipping and everything...[in video library at least]
1. download cdda reader ds filter[above],extract, run regsvr32 cddareader.ax
2. add cdrom drive root to music library in config.exe
and viola! cdrom plays from music library, with timeline and skipability...
same can be done for video library, you have to add the extension in config.xml <VideoLibraryExtensions> tho..
in video library i can skip, see timeline etc. but not so far in music library..hmm..
Now that AS and AR have been working well, I'd like to wishlist a bit of fine tuning, if I may?
One wish is a fixed DAY filter, so if you know the live shows are always Mondays and repeats always some other day of the week, it'll only auto-record a show once and ignore the rest.
The second is an EXCLUDE filter, perhaps using a comma delimited list. Like Auto-record all search with Rugby, except those with "Heineken Cup" in the title.
I know that some parts of the world are on different days of the week vs. the average joe here in the United States. I think it is like Jan 3rd. now or something like that in New Zealand .
Many different cultures have there own traditions and celebrations this time of year.
That being the case, happy holidays and best wishes from my family to yours.
We hope that all have a safe, healthy, and prosperous 2008.
The picture is dark, Slightly greener then it should be. I searched and read alot about the issue but never could come across a REAL solution. Did I miss it? I played with my INI file. It didnt help. I havent busted into the MVP and started clipping stuff yet. Id rather not unless it is my only option.
Is there a fix for this somewhere I missed? Im hooking this up to a standard 4:3 tv. Not LCD/Plasma or HD.
Is this a known issue for which there is a fix? Sorry if there is somewhere and if someone could direct me I'd be very grateful. Ever since I installed gbpvr (pvrx2) I'm geting tuners displaying as missing if gbpvrtray.exe (the little power button symbol on the systray) loads at startup. I read a little about the recording service crashing out for some people, but I don't know if this prob I'm having is related. In my current config, I avoid the tuner failure on startup by having gbpvr recording service start up manually using a .bat file and with windows 'mssconfig' utility unchecking gbpvrtray.exe on startup that sits in some long string something like 'application data\microsoft\installler... I then open gbpvrtray.exe by going into the config program and then exiting. If I do this everything works fine and I can dual record, schedule and start system from hibernate etc. Otherwise with recording service auto start and gbpvrtray.exe on start, tuners show as non existant.
My system is XP, Hauppauge Nova-T500, 2Gb DDR RAM, q6600 quad core. ppMpgMux(5.0.0.3608).ax and THMpgMux(5.0.0.2022).ax are also found on the mux check.
