I clean installed xp pro w/ SP2 in my PC.
specs: 2.8 GHz/512MB RAM/128MB nvidia GE FORCE 5200
I installed .net 2.0, visual C++. Then installed GBPVR v1.1.5 .
I was able to successfully set up my HVR-1600 and GBPVR detects it as the ATSC capture source. I followed the wiki and installed Schedules Direct I-XMLTV client. all this wet fine.
when I start PVRX2 it starts and when i click TV guide it hangs up in 2 seconds. It doesnt close the window but just freezes after few flickering.
BDA mux chedker shows
NO MULTIPLEXER FILTERS WHERE FOUND ON YOUR MACHINE.
I have cyberlink power DVD v7.3 installed.
I know the capture card works bcoz i have another pc in which i have gbpvr working with no probs. that system has a P4 1.8 GHz and HVR 1600 needs atleast 2.2GHx and it shows stuttering when watcing live TV. I just pulled the card out and installed in thi system. Dunno what I am doing wrong.
i have attached the pvrx2 log file if it helps.
thanks.
Hey sub - just checking up to see if the following is possible - ive got an autoit script that moves my recordings from the recordings folder to the my videos library but i want to keep my descriptions etc so what do i need to change in the database ie table / data wise etc ?
i want to see if its possible by using autoit first and if not i might need to delve a little deeper into what you and others are using for those edits.
i just wanted to thank sub for the hard work you do coding gbpve, for no direct payment. i was checking out a time warner dvr of a friends the other day to see how it compared with gbpvr. it really doesn't compare at all. the interface was ok but NOWHERE as intuitive, i had to keep asking her how to use it. i would pick gbpvr everyday of the week. i made a small donation, i know it's not much but i wanted to show some appreciation, and i recommend everyone who finds value in gbpvr should consider donating something.
I recently changed my server's config 'Recordings Directory' to a unc (\\Titan\PVR\TV Recordings) instead of a drive letter to support net-radio on a client machine.
I just noticed that on the Statistics tab I get
'Recordings Directory: Could not load disk info for \\Titan\PVR'
the Live TV Buffer folder is still a drive letter and is displayed OK.
not a major issue, but as a big user of auto-record, I like to keep an eye on my disk status.
For awhile, after I pressed "play" on the remote to skip the first commercial, Comskip would skip the rest automatically. This is on recorded shows, either played during recordings or much later. Now the commercials are visible on the OSD, but I have to hit Play at the beginning of each break to skip to the start of the show again.
Is there a toggle I might have turned off? I was having other issues, and was changing things in config of gbpvr, but I cannot find something for this.
I am running pvrx2 1.0.16. I beleive I am running Comskip 79-111. This all worked before. Its not a big bother, but perhaps something easy to turn back on.
Recording digital channels, mostly in SD but some HD, clear QAM, in dvr-ms format. Comskip is set to run parallel, and does a good job.
I am running windows Vista Basic on a brand new computer I just bought. I am using the USB Angel Tuner. After installing GB-PVR I went though the config and everything worked fine there. I can go in an see what's playing when. However when I try to watch tv by clicking on Live TV. I get the message "GB-PVR has crashed".
I have Orb as well, which is for streaming media via internet. I am able to watch TV though orb so i'm fairly sure it's not an issue with the card/drivers.
Any ideas? Any more info I can provide to help?
*Edit*
Well after searching the forums for 2 days I couldn't find the answer, so I post. 2 seconds later I see a post on setting the LiveTV folder to something other then root. Found out I didn't have a C:\Temp folder. Created, set permissions, all works well. Leaving this info for other to find.
I have just installed GBPVR v1.1.5, but I cant seem to add any channels properly.
The 'Tuning Assistant' can find all 5 channels that my Hauppauge HVR-4000 (yes I know, very old! :o ) can recieve, I can get the EPG for them and I can tune to them using the cards software just fine, but GBPVR just gives me a blue screen, even though I have added the channels under 'Capture Sources' and they appear under 'Channels' in the Configuration.
I'm having a problem and need to reach out for some assistance.
First, let me say thank you once again and in advance for great support.
I'm experiencing a new issue where PVRX2 will jump to 50% cpu utilization and grab a bunch of RAM. I have to spare but the program becomes unresponsive. When you flip through the program listing - this is where initially realized it - it goes one at a time. If you hold down the remote button you have to wait some time for it to process all those events and advance the channel listings. Further when I exited PVRX2 it did exit from the menu but I got a crash message on exit.
I've tried the following :
Tried #1: One thing I noticed in my events viewer is that I was getting a .Net 2 error. I entered Add/Remove Programs and sequentially changed/repaired .Net2SP1, .Net3SP1 and .Net3.5.
Result #1: This eliminated my .Net event error but PVRX2, while starting fine, again jumped to 50% cpu utilization. I opened it and played a song from audio. At some point during it's play the cpu jumped up. Listings were extremely slow again and it crashed on exit.
Tried #2 : I reinstalled GBPVR and rebooted in the interim.
Result #2 : no difference. Still jumps to 50% cpu. This time while a DVD playing and crashed on exit.
I'm trying to self-diagnose as I get to know the program but I'm at a point of needing a little help again. I've attached logs and did see a SQL error generated by MovieWizard but was uncertain how to correct that and if it was the source of my issue.
I have Channel Logos automatically appearing in C:\Program
Files\devnz\gbpvr\media\ChannelLogos.
However I have already chosen the ones I want and there's a bunch in that dir I never put in there. I don't think I have a plugin which sticks in Channel Logos (Plugins are XRecord, SkipTool, MovieWizard, Utilities are ProgrammImageTool, ShowImageGrabber & MovieWizard).
The odd thing is that GBPVR (in Xrecord) chooses a different logo than the TV Guide, the files being TVB Pearl.jpg (which I made) and TVB Pearl.gif which appeared, even when I deleted it, it came back, based on the file timestamp??
I have an XP with PVR250 and GBPVR 1.1.5. That is my streaming server.
I have a laptop with XP and the same version and it is running fine (LiveTV and Recordings with streaming)
I now have a new laptop with Vista and 1.1.5 and streaming LiveTV fails.
I can select LiveTV from the menu, the recording service on the PVR250 pc goes green but the screen on the Vista PC goes back to the menu.
Being desperate, I have copied over the config.xml from the XP to the Vista but the problem remains.
Another strange thing is that the changes I make in the Plugins tab in config.exe are not persitent on the Vista machine.
(I am Admin on all machines.)
