  Max Simultaneous Recordings
Posted by: Caseyjones - 2007-11-23, 11:14 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (3)

Has anyone any experience of multiple simultaneous recordings.

I currently have a Win Nova T500 and can record both channels no problems, I'm looking at possibly adding another T500 which could give me 4 channels being recorded at once.

My spec is shown below.

The questions I have are
i) Could the one disc support all 4 recordings
ii) Is it possible to split the recording channels to different disks (similar to mediaportal)
iii) Should I look at some form of RAID setup

Any suggestions would be great.

  EPG Problems with 1.1.15
Posted by: Captain-DJ - 2007-11-23, 10:57 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

Hello!

I have updated from 0.98 to 1.1.15
First time i updated over the old version.
The EPG scheduler don't work in PVRX2, i can not make a record schedule, not over the EPG and not manually.
In GBPVR it works ! I can set an manually record.
And in PVRX2 i can not delete an schedule in GBPVR i can delete an set !

I have add the new GBPVRBackendCommon, the Net 2 Hotfix and now the GBPVRRecordingService.exe
I have deinstall and delete the gbpvr folder an reinstall, but it dont work !
I used the External Recorder Plugin and now i can not delete the channels with the button "Empty EPG" manually i can delete the channels but in the gbpvr.db3 database the channels not deleted !
I have delete the database gbpvr.db3 and the config.xml. Config generates an new, but it don't work.

I have now an error message (see pic) when i update the channels.
Is there any changs in the xml file from XMLTV ?

I check the gbpvr.db3 with SQLiteSpy, when i use the funktion "execute-> analyze database" i get the message:"SQlite Error 5 - Database is locked"
Is that ok ?

What can i do ?

EDIT: I now deleted a channel in the "Edit Recording Source" setup again, now i get the massage the database is locked !
EDIT 2: I have deleted the database again, now my Plugin "External recorder Plugin" is not in the Recording Source list !
I have copied all files for this plugin again, but is not in the list. Now i delete also gbpvr.mdb....no is not in the list....what is that !! *grrrrr*

  New XMLTV Enhancer and more...
Posted by: zehd - 2007-11-23, 05:04 AM - Forum: Developers - Replies (388)

-Oz- and Zehd are developing a new XMLTV enhancer.

We're looking at making it quite robust. We want it to include XML parsing and validating, Episode Number searches, enhancing displayed information, Recorded Filename renaming and much more.

I'm starting this thread so all of us can discuss publicly some logic and design ideas.

If anyone has ideas or comments, feel free to chime in.

It's an ambitious idea. We're hoping that it will be universal enough that many other XMLTV users will be able to streamline their configuration. It will start out to work with GB-PVR specifically, but we're trying to make the design compatible with other PVR apps that use an XMLTV file for EPG data.

(Being in Australia, I've already noticed some difference in the XMLTV guide data available here, compared to Zap2It/Schedules Direct XMLTV data)

We're working on individual components right now, with the intent on merging the work when appropriate.

Right now, -Oz- is working on a universal EPG grabber/downloader.

Zehd is working on the Data Enhancer component.

Soon we will be creating a new component that will scrape extra data from online databases, like 'episode num', and 'first aired date'

Our goal will be a central configuration screen to select data source, and enhancement choices.

Each night, it will call the grabber, modify the data, and call GB-PVR to update its EPG.

Also, when each recording is complete (PostProcessing) it will go online (either immediate or deferred) to fill in some details of the show, and optionally rename the recorded show's filename.

And we are trying to do this without the user needing to bother with Batch files.

Any thoughts are welcome...

So I go and use the "edit theme". It says to press the play button to apply and restart. What is the play button if I am sitting in front of the PC with no remote??

Thanks,

  Editing Recording titles, desc, etc...
Posted by: 86atc250r - 2007-11-23, 04:07 AM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - Replies (4)

I'm sure this has been asked before, I did some searching but couldn't find anything.

Has a recorded program information editing feature ever been considered? I have accumulated a large library over the past couple years on my 500GB drive and have several that either didn't come with a decent description or due to a bug/error showed up as "manual recording" or a completely incorrect title/description.

For my PVR setup, editing within GBPVR itself wouldn't be real handy, but editing within EWA would be extremely helpful.

So, I guess is this feature request feasible? - has it been discussed before?

  Lowest Power consumption 5200 v 9250
Posted by: Bathman - 2007-11-22, 09:15 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (5)

I have just built myself a client using an intel D210GLY2 motherboard. Unfortunately the onboard sis mirage graphics can't do the PVRX2 interface. I have therefore just brought a Nvidia 5200 PCI graphics card.

Anyway I am utterly shocked when i booted up with the 5200 inserted that my 80 Watt Pico PSU was not able to supply enough juice. How much energy does a 5200 draw?

Does anyone therefore know if any other PCI cards use less energy (I was wondering 9250)

  No audio in manual recordings
Posted by: thlongan - 2007-11-22, 09:07 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

If I go into live TV on lets say channel 2, then go back and set up manual recording to record channel 2, video and audio is good. Bu, if I set up a manual recording of a different channel, like channel 4, then the video is good, but audio is just white noise. This happens if I close the program and go back in and the channel was on 2 when the program was closed, and go right to manual record and set it up on a channel other than channel 2! This happens on 3 different computers.
I'm using a P4 3GHZ processor, 2G of ram, XP pro, and V1.1.5 of GBPVR. I have attached the logs. Thanks for a great program.

WinTV Nova S Plus + CI?
Posted by: kylebrophy - 2007-11-22, 08:43 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (1)

Hi,

I see on the list of available accessories for the WinTV Nova S Plus is a USB addon that allows a CAM and smartcard to be added - so can watch encrypted channels.

The wording of the system reqs say...

System Requirements:
Microsoft® Windows® XP/Vista(32bit)
Free USB2.0 port
Compatible WinTV product
Compatible CAM
Compatible SmartCard and valid subscription

http://www.hauppauge.co.uk/pages/products/data_ci.html

this makes me wonder if the CI addon would with with GB-PVR ... im just wondering if anyone has this running before i considering purchasing it.

Thanks in Advance

  Executing grabber before EPG update?
Posted by: hzwaal - 2007-11-22, 07:53 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Sub, is there a way to call an xmltv update script before the EPG is updated? This would save me (and I guess many others) one wake-up a day...

If it's not possible (which I fear it isn't), could you put this on the wishlist? No hurry, though, since it works perfectly at the moment.
